Ok, but restaurant just don't cut it.

    rating27 May 2026

The location of the hotel is only a 2 or 3 minute walk from the beach where you are treated by a friendly beach front bar/shack. In itself the hotel setting is not spectacular, but what you might expect from a non sea front hotel. The atmosphere in the area is relaxed and quite enjoyable. There's little or no excitement happening local to the hotel so one can relax. The rooms are clean and tidy. They are spacious enough and cleaned regularly. Disappointed that we were in a end room and had a very obnoxious and loud neighbour who thought nothing of leaning on his left hand balcony rail that gave him full view into our room. The sun only touched our balcony and hour before sunset. The restaurant was clean and tidy. We were given a suggested time for us to eat which was as it opened at 7pm. This was a stamped and a free for all so we avoided. Very very disappointed with how food was served up and the finer details of the restaurant. The quality of food was good but if I wanted veg I would have to stand in front of the chef and hold my plate out like Oliver twist. Being a vegetarian it's embarrassing having to ask for more than the skimpy amount they would dish up. For instance I went to the chef who spooned out 4 baby carrots, 4 X small quarters of boiled potato and sprig of broccoli. It's as if they have not cooked enough to allow people to serve themselves. Scrambled eggs in the morning often had a chef rationing them out. My partner's not a veggie, and said the meats and fish were tasty, but the rationing was very off putting. One evening I had a problem finding a coherent hot meal from what was on offer. I didn't want to have chips, they were dry and unappealing. I found potatoe croquettes, and placed a few on my plate. I went to the table and put one in my mouth, it tasted strange. When I cut one open, it was potato and ham. I went to the chef and asked is this vegetarian? He said no, then looked at me like I was mad. To emphasise he picked the little wooden plaque up to show me, It simply said croquettes. He then shrugged his shoulders and looked confused. The sign was later replaced with the correct sign say ham and potato croquettes. Also they would not let me have drinks on our first night without paying cash or card. I asked to charge it to my room but they wouldn't because we had not taken the small room card we were issued. No one told us we needed it in the restaurant, we were half board. If I a complaint on the hotel it would be the restaurant.

    Excellent value stay.

First time staying at the Htop Amitista. Not the most attractive hotel from the outside. However, spotlessly clean and presentable from reception to the bar, dining room and pool area. The room was very basic but like everywhere else spotlessly clean. House keeping were excellent came every day. Very comfortable beds and one of the best showers we've ever had in a hotel. No dip in water pressure or temperature. Shampoo, shower gel and hand wash also provided. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Many thanks to the housekeeping staff who left me a voucher for couple of glasses of Cava when they noticed my birthday cards in the room. We went all inclusive. The food in the restaurant was excellent. A variety of international dishes so something for everyone even the pickiest of eaters. There were a number of big groups of youth sports teams so it did get a bit noisy at times. However if you avoided earlier eating times it wasn't a problem. The Amitista is a short walk from Fenal beach and about 15 minutes walk to Lloret de mar if you're a good walker. The bustop is directly outside the hotel entrance if you're not a keen walker.Reception will provide you with a local map detailing some nice places to visit, local beaches, shops and restaurants. Would recommend the st Clotilde gardens about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Cost just over 6 euros to get in. Do take your own drinks and snacks as there's no refreshment facilities. Just a drinking water fountain as you enter. There is another beach a few minutes walk past the gardens through a lovely woodland path. Platja De Sa Boadella is a very beautiful beach which we discovered when we got there is primarily a naturist beach. So make sure you have plenty of high factor sun cream. There's also a bar/ cafe on the beach. All in all was very impressed with our stay. Bear in mind full hotel facilities (air con, roof top solarium, full entertainment program) don't apply until June.We will definitely consider booking again.

    Very poor 2* at most!

    rating20 May 2026

Bad points-Most of it! No aircon or heating working. we were told it was out of season! Huge rowdy groups of young foot ballers banging on doors most the night running up and down outside the rooms and really disturbing sleep, Very rude waiting staff in the restaurant that’s after you queue to get in. Basic food more set for the French and Spanish guests and that goes for the poor evening entertainment too. Room very basic with tiny stools for bedside tables. No plug near the mirror or seating to do make up or hair in a mirror. Pool was very cold and dirty. Good points-Bar staff!
