  Fabulous hotel- great location, great food , great facilities and services . Lively pool! Had a very relaxing stay in in Ona PalomasStaff were wonderful, including Andres who was a fabulous Aqua dance instructor and dance entertainer. Kids had an amazing evening at the kids disco and neon make up by Akari . 10/10 !! Would definitely Hotel Manager, Owner at Ona Palamos, responded to this review Hi there Catrin!   LA DIRECTORA DEL HOTEL FUE GROSERA Y DE CERO AYUDA ANTE VARIOS PROBLEMAS EN LA HABITACION (RUIDO, DUCHA, FREGADERO ATASCADO). AL PEDIR CAMBIO DE HABITACION QUERIA ECHARNOS DEL HOTEL DURANTE 6 HORAS Y YA HABIA SIDO PAGADO SI ES QUE QUERIAMOS CAMBIAR DE HABITACION. SU RESPUESTA MAS SUAVE FUE “ESTO ES LO QUE HAY, NO ES MI PROBLEMA”. EVITAD SIEMPRE EL ONA PALAMOS SI VAIS CON FAMILIA, ALERGIA ALIMENTARIA O QUEREIS DORMIR Y USAR COCINA Y BAÑO.The hotel manager was rude and of no help with several problems in the room (noise, shower, clogged sink). When we asked to change rooms, she wanted to kick us out of the hotel for 6 hours and had already been paid if we wanted to change rooms. Her softest response was "this is how it is, not my problem." Always avoid ONA PALAMOS if you are going with family, have food allergies, or want to sleep and use the kitchen and bathroom.   Perfect location for beach & town

  Position of the hotel was great, 5 minutes walk to the beach & 10 minutes to town. Hotel was clean & apartment was more than adequate. No kettle but we used the coffee maker when we wanted tea. Didn't use the restaurant so cannot comment, although decor feels like a school canteen but that's my personal opinion. PARKING - you will drive round & round for a parking space, they are like gold dust. We managed to park at the rear of the large supermarket at top of road (approx 8 minutes walk). Ona charge €20-25 per day which I wasn't prepared to pay & I think they should make clear on their website (although they never had space when we were there. Overall we would stay here again.   Excellent location. More apartment than hotel

  Looking at previous reviews I think the first thing to realize is this is not your typical 3 or 4 star hotel. It's more serviced apartment rooms so the typical amenities and cleaning rotation is different. If you go with the right expectations ( which I think we did) then you'll have a good stay. Notable positives. Location, location location. But right now the entire beach frontage is a massive construction zone. Piles of concrete, dust and fences. This is obviously not the hotel's fault just an FYI for those staying here in the coming months/year. But get to the walking path and head into town (10 mins) and there's a lot to do/see/eat/drink. Saturday nights are very busy. Shout out to the ladies at La Fleca coffee and pastry/bread shop two blocks up the street and around the corner. We were there every morning. Cant say anything about the breakfast or dinner at the hotel, We didn't eat there. Too many other options in town and elsewhere. The Pool is big and nice enough. Rooms and bathrooms are nice, basic and clean. AC worked well and it was needed. Bed was comfortable enough. Shout out to the desk staff. They were very nice, helpful and as accommodating as possible. (Suggestion to add plastic cups for the beer taps so guests can take a drink to the pool). Also they recommended going to Caldes de Malavella train station to park overnight for free when we went to Barcelona and it was an excellent suggestion. Now a few more things to consider. Again not necessarily the Ona's fault but the parking is non-existent in terms of dedicated to the hotel. You'll do circles around the one way streets until you find an open spot (that isn't yellow or blue marked). We always found a spot but it always felt like a gamble as to which street would have a spot we could squeeze into. If you rent a car, get as small as you comfortably can. The pool was nice but there wasn't a bar open and they don't allow glass in the pool area so bringing in a beer or other fun drinks was a no. They didn't have plastic cups to offer. Need a bottle opener? Gotta ask at the desk. Need more towels? Ask at the desk. There are not separate shampoo/conditioner/soap supplied. No real bar soap. Just a pump of all in one. If you're a guy like me with limited hair care needs then no big deal. If you're like my wife and prefer decent shampoo and conditioner either pack your preferred products or hit the supermarket up the street. (5 mins away and we got what we needed inexpensively). As noted in previous reviews cleaning isn't daily. If you stay longer than 3 days your room is cleaned or a week it's half way through. Fine with us but I knew that going in. I can't say the cleaning was spotless but was fine, we're not fussy. All in all it was a great stay. I'd recommend it with a couple of caveats. Not sure I'd stay any longer than a week. But an excellent location to base for exploring Costa Brava.   Firstly the good stuff ! The location was excellent and the staff on reception were helpful,polite a mention for Laura ( good luck with your studies) the room was comfortable and breakfast was very good with plenty of choices.Now the not so good stuff, a family of 4 basically self catering in 1 room creates a lot of waste,after 4 days I asked for our room to be cleaned i was told that it wasn’t due until the following day to pay for extra cleaning is 14 euro’s which i paid unfortunately they cleaned still leaving a bin of waste in the room also as i paid for extra cleaning the room didn’t get cleaned on the normal rota, the swimming pool was just ok a few tiles missing but clean, 3 days before we were leaving i asked if could extend our time of departure from 11am to 3pm i was this is possible for 25 euros but must confirm on the day before we leave,so on the day before we left i asked the question and was told its not possible to do ! Overall I would say satisfactory all that aside Palamos is gorgeous and Girona airport is probably the best airport we’ve travelled through.
