Location

    The location of Parador de Aiguablava is exceptional , the road that leads to the hotel is fantastic , and then the views are spectaculair. We loved staying in this hotel, even though the restaurant needs improvement in the quality of food. The breakfast was oke , but the restaurant can improve. For it´s location we would come back.     Great hotel, pity about the food

    Fabulous building, super rooms, wonderful location.Staff very mixed; some were friendly but others no so much. At check-in we were made to feel like we were some kind of boring inconvenience, and when we had a problem they were unable to help.There’s no coffee making in the room, and the bar/cafe doesn’t open until 11, so if you just want a cup of coffee when you wake up your only option is full breakfast at €50 per couple.The main restaurant has a relatively small menu, with many dishes of the region. Most of the staff seemed stressed and didn’t have the time to make us feel comfortable. The croquettes were ok, but my ravioli were filled with some kind of grey tasteless mush and smothered in an overpowering bisque. My wife’s dish was a local speciality of prawns and chicken. Th prawns were cooked until the flesh inside was shrivelled, and the chicken was similarly overdone, all buried in another overpowering bisque. My wife had an unpleasant upset stomach the following morning. I would recommend eating out in the evenings, but the location is rather remote. So 5 stars for the hotel, 3 for the staff, zero for the catering.     Excellent location and quality of hotel. Will certainly revisit in the future. In fact, we have become Amigos, and intend to visit other Paradores very soon.     Building needs a good service, especially rooms look tired. Room cleaning is poor. The positive is the views,

    Welcome is good but:- poor room cleaning, left articles (brushes, beds still on high, dirty floor)- the whole building needs a clean overall, it shows that it has been used heavily- ceilings look worse- leakages- heating that needs maintenance (air in tubes)- room needs a new paint (looks used heavily)This is not what we are used by Parador standards, this is currently the only one which we would not recommend.Regards Reme Ortiz, Otros at Parador de Aiguablava, responded to this review Dear Sir: Thank you very much for your comments about your stay with us.
