Location

The hotel is situated in the coastal town of Malgrat de Mar, right in front of the sea and the beach in the Costa del Maresme – a region full of rich culture, architectural monuments, museums, restaurants and bars that offers fast connections to Barcelona's Olympic Village, Girona and the Costa Brava. There are also plenty of shops in the surrounding area. Girona-Costa Brava Airport is some 36 km away and Barcelona El Prat De Llobregat Airport is about 83 km away.

Facility

17 single rooms and 187 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a safe, a currency exchange service and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     We were at the Tropic in July 2025. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We had a great time. The hotel overlooks the sea and is close to the shops. There is a train station a short walk from the hotel so we had a trip sightseeing in Barcelona. We are returning in June 2026, this time we will have a day trip to the city of Girona. We are looking forward to another excellent holiday.

    The best thing about this hotel is the fridge in the room and the beautiful wall art above the beds. Simply stunning!The worst thing was the food. Also my daughter found a foreign body in her meal and I discreetly brought it to the head waitress's attention, she did not appear grateful and didnt even apologise, nor thank me for showing her privately. She regularly seemed annoyed with her staff and walked around like an army sargeant.The evening entertainment was good and the youth who organised it all were very enthuiastic. A few All Inclusive members complained that they were treated unfairly. We were half board, so didnt have any problems with obtaining drinks.I wouldnt stay here again nor would I recommend it because food is important to holiday guests. This hotel got it quite wrong in this areas and the cost cutting was too obvious. However the dining room was beautiful with cascading fountain features in the corner.

    A nice hotel overall. However small rectifiable details took away its 4* rating. There is no iron in any of the rooms in this entire hotel. There is no kettle in the room either and there is a charge to use the safe. They have a fridge in the room, but it does not keep anything cold. There is a 10 euro refundable deposit required for a beach / pool towel. Half-board, should entitle guests to at least one free drink of their choosing with every evening meal. ALL these things should be standard provision for a 4* hotel, therefore I would say this hotel is a 3* Plus. PRO'sThe hotel was clean throughout. I found staff in ALL areas to be polite and professional, especially Joanna on reception, Lola, the restaurant manager and the chefs. The food was really nice with a good choice selection both for breakfast and evening meals. The only gripe would be it could be hotter. Nevertheless, there is a microwave in situ, allowing you to heat your food to your required temperature. The room was smaller than I have become accustom to in 4* hotels, but it was manageable. The bed was comfortable, and the room was made-up daily with fresh towels too. Great location and for 21 euros you can by a train pass for the month (one day return is 12 euros) that enables you to go into Barcelona or other destinations as frequently as you like, hoping on and off.

    Very beautiful location. Food was great was lots of variety. Almost every night there was some sort of entertainment. The staff were so nice and really pleasant. A fridge in every room. I will definitely go back

    Fortunately the Highs outweighed the Lows

    We wanted a short 5 nights of Autumnal Spanish charm and generally the holiday delivered. The Tropic Park Hotel is a very good 4 star rated resort with very modern and comfortable rooms with excellent showers. The staff are friendly and welcoming and there’s a real civilised clientele. Praise must be said for the superb catering and restaurant staff as the food was of the highest quality with plenty of choice and variety. Sadly though there is a big BUT coming ….. in the form of the Entertainment Team or lack of !!!!! We missed the Flamenco Dancing and arrived half way through the Magic Show which apparently were very good unfortunately we was subjected to four nights of Disco Bingo Pianist and then more Disco which was not only painful to watch but really disappointed our stay. Is it too much to ask for a quiz ? A game ? Or dare I say Karaoke ? Anything but that drivel and as an ex Holiday Rep I do know what I’m talking about !!!! So in the end a lovely hotel with excellent accommodation and food but let down badly by the Entertainment Team!!!!
