5 nights in Palermo
07 Oct 2025
We just returned from spending 5 nights at Hotel Bel 3 during our trip with two couples to Sicily. The hotel is beautifully situated up in the hills overlooking Palermo with some beautiful views - but be aware we were 9 kilometers from the city center. So, we tackled getting into town using the local transit which was a value at $1.40 per ride, ususally with two transfers to get to the city center. The hotel does offer a shuttle twice a day into town, but seemed expensive to us, so we braved the local buses. The restaurant at the hotel has good variety and was fairly priced - we dined here 3 nights. Not much else around the hotel area, we walked down the hill partially to access grocery and bus tickets. Hotel does have a pool, but as we were there at end of season, did not use.Hotel was clean, staff friendly and rooms were a good size with outdoor balcony and views of city. Just being so remote, is something for people to be aware of when choosing this hotel.

Super relaxed final day Sicily
26 Jun 2025
After 2,5 weeks roadtrip through Sicily we choose to relax one more day before our flight home. The drive to the hotel was a little suprise, up hill. Off course we could have seen this way before coming here. But totally worth it! Amazing view on Palermo, a very nice and clean room. A shower my husband finally could stand underneath too, large bed etc. The pool a great time to spend our last Sicilian hours. Breakfast good, would totally recommand a stay here.

The perfect honeymoon
23 Jan 2025
I have found myself looking back at photos of our beautiful honeymoon and realised I forgot to leave a review.Firstly, the location. Sicily is a crazy place and this hotel in a rural location suited us perfectly. We wanted peace with the option to get access to Palermo and Mondello. This was made easy by the shuttle service. I have seen others complaining of the price however we found it very reasonable compared to UK taxis. 45 minute round trip for €40 was very good. it also gets cheaper if uou shre with other guests. Our driver (shoutout to Francesco) was very polite and great to deal with. He even was okay when we brought sand in to his van (sorry) and when we changed plans last minute. As for anyone talking about no shops nearby, if you do a little research the italian app "Glovo" delivers literally anything you want to the hotel. Alcohol, Food, Toothpaste and the list goes on. The reception were not only fine with this but actually helped me talk to the drivers by acting as a translator.Staff. The staff were great. Sure, maybe we waited a couple of minutes sometimes but people are human. We did hear doors slamming sometimes in the mornings but we assumed it was just a cleaning person hard at work, didn't really bother us. MVP of staff goes to David on reception. He could not of been better to us and even lent me a charging adapter for the week while mine broke.Amenities. They had a bar downstairs where you could take whatever you wanted up to your room, the restaurant was brilliant and the outdoor part of it was especially beautiful. They kept the pools open even after the season ended because the weather was so beautiful. We only got told off for a swimming competition in the jacuzzi lol! Thew view from our first floor balcony was stunning. I sat there often with my nintendo switch to watch videos and drink beer. It was heaven. Shower was good and room was cleaned every time we requested it. The view was absolutely mind blowing and most nights we saw fireworks over Palermo, it was so romantic. The balconies are connected but separated with dividers. No one really sat out on them though apart from us, but we did spend A LOT of time on the balcony. We used the included table and chairs to play card games too. The TV does have an accessible USB slot so you can download your favourite programs and bring them with you if you don't speak italian. Multiple restaurants also deliver to the hotel using Just Eat.Complaints. Not really much at all tbh. I wish the TV pulled out from the wall so I could plug my switch in? but that's really it. That is also an extremely minor complaint. The aircon worked perfectly for us. We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Bel 3. We would love to return one day, maybe for an anniversary one year. we stayed late september to early october.

Would not recommend
22 Sept 2024
Nice hotel but very secluded, roads are steep and not very safe to walk into town. There is a shuttle bus into town from the hotel but only goes once a day and has to be booked 24 hours in advance. Taxis very expensive. Nowhere within walking distance to go for meals out. On the last day both me and my partner were charged 20 euro each for a pool day pass as our flight wasn’t till that evening. I have never been charged to spend the last day at a hotel before.

A Pleasant Stay at Hotel Bel 3
10 Sept 2024
We were more than pleased with this hotel. The location is high up on a cliff and overlooks the city of Palermo. The drive to the hotel from below is challenging because the streets are very narrow and winding. But once at the top, all is forgiven when arriving at the hotel. At the hotel there are parking spaces that should be reserved in advance. They cost 5 Euros per day for a normal sized car. It is worth having a space, as outside the hotel perimeter, there are not too many options. We had a room on the 1st floor (the highest floor because of the cliff position) and had an incredible view over Palermo. Our room and bathroom were modern, spacious and comfortable. Plenty of areas to place your belongings, had a safe and even a small refrigerator with mini-bar. The room also had a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs and it was nice to sit out in the evenings after a day of exploring Sicily. The bathroom was modern and the shower spacious. The hotel had a jacuzzi pool overlooking Palermo. We did not use it as we were gone during the day. The breakfast buffet had many options to choose from and was satisfying. It is also possible to sit outside and enjoy the view over Palermo from there as well. The employees at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The hotel offers shuttle busses that take hotel guests to Palermo and the Palermo beach in the morning and brings the back in the evening. We did not use them but found the possibility good because Palermo has environmental zones which makes driving there difficult. We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening and had pizza. Tasted very delicious. It is possible to eat inside or outside on the terrace. One should make reservations in advance, we did in short notice and still got a table indoors. We enjoyed our stay here would come to this hotel again if in Palermo. :)
