  Very disappointing experience at Hotel Best Costa Ballena.Unfortunately, our stay was filled with stress, problems, and very poor customer treatment.The most serious issue happened when the hotel suddenly blocked access to both of our rooms without any warning, explanation, email, or notification. We returned to the hotel with my 75-year-old mother expecting to shower and go to dinner, only to discover that our room cards no longer worked.I had to make several trips to the front desk located far away from our rooms.I suffer from Type 1 diabetes and need to eat at regular times to avoid dangerous blood sugar drops. Because of the hotel’s mistakes and repeated card failures, I had to go to reception four separate times while we were locked out of the room. This situation caused unnecessary stress and put my health at risk. My elderly mother was exhausted and my partner ended up in tears because of the entire situation.From the beginning of the stay there were also technical issues in the rooms:phone not working,TV problems,safe problems,repeated access card failures.Even more concerning, my partner Dominika injured her foot in the infinity pool area because of a broken tile/plastic piece. The incident was immediately reported to hotel staff and the damaged part was replaced the same day, which clearly confirmed the issue existed. Fortunately, it ended with a cut and not a more serious injury.The hotel offered symbolic gestures such as spa access, room upgrade, or full board upgrade, but completely ignored our request for reasonable financial goodwill compensation considering the scale of the problems and the safety incident. We also explained that moving rooms was not practical due to my elderly mother’s condition.Additional disappointments:every dinner requires daily paper cards/tickets, which feels absurd and outdated for a 4-star hotel,very long queues for food stations such as the wok area (often 10–15 minutes),poor organization overall,lack of empathy and professional customer care.What disappointed us the most was not only the technical issues themselves, but the way we were treated afterwards. After multiple emails requesting a final resolution, the hotel simply stopped responding.This was our first trip to Spain and sadly the experience left us extremely disappointed.We would not return and unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel. Its a pitty because we picked this hotel over other ones in Huelva , Faro, and other destinations.

  Family of 6.. Children aged 3-9 - all inclusive 1 week stay.Arrival- felt like we were back at fhe airport, busy!!! Queuing and definitely not friendly or welcoming but eventually got on our way with 1 room ready and 1 shortly after.Rooms- just 1 large room with x2 double beds and a large bathroom, ants all outside on the balcony and no sunshine so didnt sit out there (ground floor garden view) definitely better rooms available but it wasnt a problem.No kettle or anything in the rooms.Maids did a good job and rooms were cleaned / beds made every day.Pools- always sunbeds available BUT the pools are locked until 10.30am (splash park 11.00) they clean the pools every morning so it is a very well kept clean hotel.Splash park floor VERY Slippy, saw numerous children falling throughout the week and needed first aid (slip shoes are a MUST if visiting)Bars- only 1 day time bar which didn't open until 10.30am so no where to grab a coffee or drink, also couldn't make use of our all inclusive as the Queuing was horrendous when half term started half way through our stay.Evening bar- horrendous queues as only 1 bar for the whole hotel!Some bar staff made the cocktails, others used a machine and the cocktails were extremely watered down which wasnt a problem for me but if you like alcohol they aren't for you.Restaurant- food was ok. Very repetitive and chaotic. Not much for children and LOTS of fish options.Poor food options especially for children and the desserts very poor.Entertainment- Kids club was brilliant for the children and the park area, the only let down was the evening shows were ALL in Spanish so my children didn't join in or know what was been said or the songs etc so brilliant for the Spanish kids but not so much for The English.This hotel is definitely aimed at Spanish and NOT english.Shows extremely late 9.30pm kids disco 10.30-11pm waiting for a show to start following.Some staff were rude and would ignore us as we were english- we hired bikes which took over half an hour as the reception staff ignored us (especially the young man) on our return my husband explained id had an accident and a bike had dropped on my foot (its fractured) he asked him for an ice pack / first aid and the man just ignored us and walked away so I hobbled around for 5 days as no one spoke English.This hotel was a good stay and we made it a nice week but it definitely wasnt suited for english families and not many staff would communicate or speak to us, we wouldn't return but it was clean and not a disaster we had a nice week.Splash park was great for the kids, football Court, pool tables, arcades (be prepared to spend a fortune).Nothing around locally so you are stuck to the hotel & 1 small shop on site.Short transfer to the airport.Nice week but could of been better.

  Food poor, noisy & rude doesn't cover it ... without children avoid!!!

  First impression reception ... ugh! No smile, no welcome drink, no information just orders barked about what you can't have, ie arrival 11:30 am NO room access until 3pm until we complained, also All Inc doesn't kick in until 12 noon whatever time you arrive ... appalling. Manuel (Reception Manager) helpful, Nula (Marketing Manager?) delightful! Bar staff generally lovely. Dining room manageress a complete dragon. We booked Premier (two out of 3 restaurants closed as 'early season'), canteen available beyond noisy & dreadful. Premier and we were given a lovely premium twin we booked but overlooking a BASKETBALL COURT so, again, NOISY!!! Offered a quieter room but would have wasted another day. Quiet tables to eat impossible to find as Spanish families with multiple badly behaved children dotted around entire restaurant. No queueing, no manners, food very basic. Burgers, sausages, salamis, same salad every lunchtime (we visited 3 times as left hotel for quiet time nearly every day). Evening meals below par. Pasta, burgers, no roasts, fish quality extremely poor. Desserts overly sweet/childlike. Cheese at lunchtime plastic and no butter available. Half a glass of wine offered for all inc no top ups unless chased down during meal times but escape needed from the noise so who would hang around?! Pool area and facilities for children superb but nothing for adults wanting to hear each other speak or simply wanting a quiet area by the pool. Pool bar under staffed but great selection of premium drinks and lovely staff if you can put up with being in the hotel during the day and having to queue for every drink. Evenings completely geared to children & noise. One quiet room near reception but no facilities/quiet bar just a TV with football on though quietly. BRITISH people without children AVOID!!! The bonus for us was we met one other British couple who were delightful (mike & Jo) ... 98% Spanish which generally wouldn't be a problem, especially in Spain, but sadly not the kind of Spanish we have encountered before whilst staying in 4 or 5* hotels.

  We have had a fantastic stay here on a package holiday and this hotel has exceeded our expectations. It is a large hotel and caters well for families; with multiple superb pools, a kids club and not to mention the glorious beach on the doorstep. The spa is a nice treat and I enjoyed a lovely massage. Everything is clean and well maintained and the food quality really good for mass catering. The staff work really hard and are all super friendly. Special thanks to Gloria in the kids club who is amazing with the pequenos (our daughter adored her) and Jose on reception for being super helpful. We have found this hotel to be excellent value and based on our experience would definitely consider returning to this hotel and other “Best” hotels in the future.   Enjoyed my stay here! Staff was friendly and Tello made the best cocktails :). Food was good for buffet style and coffee at the bar was amazing. Can recommend to stay here.
