    This hotel was a good, cheap and basic option for travelling in Benalmadena. The room was a good size, and was clean. We had a great view from our balcony despite only being a partial sea view which was lovely. The room did lack basic amenities, only having hand wash available, and no English tv channels, tea/coffee and water. The beds were comfy and the addition of electric shutters made the room really dark in the bright mornings which was good. However the sound proofing in the hotel was minimal, and there was a very loud school staying in the hotel who were running around until the early hours of the morning, making it difficult to sleep, could also hear the phone conversations of the room next door. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Beware that check in at this hotel was not until 5pm which was very late, and we arrived at around 2pm, were told they would call us when the room was ready but we never received this call. Overall, this was a good option for a budget stay in benalmadena, but is quite far from benalmadena centre.     If your thinking of booking this hotel, I would extremely advise against it. Myself and my wife (in our 70s) recently stayed at this hotel and experienced a very violent incident in the room next to us. There was screaming, shouting, door banging and furniture smashing against the walls all night. This was ongoing until the early hours in the morning for 2 nights in a row. We could not sleep at all and we ended up having to leave the hotel on the second night at 2am as we feared for our safety. We contacted reception on the first night and were told there was no management or security available to sort out the problem so we had to listen to this carry on all through the night. On the second night when it happened again and still no one available to sort the problem we had no choice but to leave the unsafe envoirnment. When we arrived home we were so still so upset and angry over the incident that we decided to contact the hotel again to advise them of how we felt and our disappointment in how they dealt with the situation. The response from the hotel was extremely unprofessional as they said the direct responsibility was with the guests in question and not with the hotel. We were told the next step for them would have been to call the police but blamed us for leaving at 2am in the morning as the reason for them not getting the police involved. The reason we left was becasue we felt unsafe and there was no one there to help us. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times before and always had a pleasent experience so we are very disappointed with what happened this time round. However, doing so immediately does make it more difficult for us to move to the next level of action (involving the police, filing a formal report, offering you a room move, etc.), because once you have left the property, our staff no longer has you on site to follow the full protocol. This does not mean that we “don’t care”; it simply means that, once you leave without informing us that you are checking out due to the incident, our ability to handle your specific case becomes limited.Hotel’s responsibility vs. responsibility of the guests involved:What we tried to explain is that the direct responsibility for any violent or antisocial behaviour always lies with the people who commit it, not with the hotel. Our role is to intervene as far as the law allows and, if necessary, contact the police. This does not mean that we are not concerned about your safety.We are aware that you had always enjoyed pleasant stays with us in the past, and that is precisely why it saddens us that this isolated situation leads you to “strongly advise” against booking our hotel.     My son and friend booked this hotel for 4 days half board , on arrival for evening meal they where told he was to sit in area for half board and was handed a spoon and knife for his table with no cutlery or crockery , which made them both feel belittled and demeaning , he described the food as terrible with no labels to say what anything was and he had to settle for spring roll and chips, they where not edible they where to hard , there was no drinks at all not even water provided you had to pay but there was also no drink glasses provided , he then went to vending machine to get a juice and they took it off him and told him it had to be bought in restaurant and he would get it back when he left , they both felt terrible about this and felt that they where looked upon as guests that where asking for something for nothing , surely you should be provided with a drink of water or juice with your evening meal , the staff at this hotel are very rude and money oriented , not at all helpful , obviously they won’t return to this hotel and will definitely.write a complaint to on the beach , no one should feel belittled or have an experience like that on holiday terrible terrible experience Direccion Flatotel, General Manager at First Flatotel International, responded to this review Dear Guest,We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, although we feel it is important to clarify several points in your review:Restaurant service: our hotel offers half board in BUFFET format, as clearly stated at the time of booking. It is the guest’s responsibility to collect their tableware from the buffet, therefore the claim that crockery or cutlery were withheld is simply not accurate.Variety and quality of food: our buffet provides a wide selection of dishes every day, all duly labelled. Choosing to eat only a limited selection was a personal decision, not a restriction of the service.Drinks in half board: as indicated in all booking conditions, drinks are not included in the half board package and must be paid for separately. This is a standard and well-established practice in the vast majority of hotels of a similar category.External drinks: bringing drinks purchased outside the restaurant service is not permitted, as the restaurant itself provides a full range of refreshments, juices and bottled water for guests.     We recently stayed in this hotel and were very satisfied the apartment was clean and cleaning staff went around regularly very family friendly and the staff were extremely helpful there’s an adequately stocked shop and a pool bar that does good food reception staff very helpful vending machines were great aswell overall very positive experience thank you Flatotel ❤️

    If I can give ZERO I would the 1 star is for the osean view. We had a terrible experience with this poor hotel. The management is absolutely not professional nor have any interest to help guest. Money oriented peopleOur shower was BLOCKED see photos and the we didn’t had internet on the 4th floor. All day so if you work from home avoid this place at all cost ! They just blaiming each other and pointing fingers to othersThe pillows are so skinny you ll break your neck ! When address all this issues they staring “ you never said that “ so record all and keep your record with photos and videos like we did ! I am definitely filing a complaint ! The stuff are not professional and do not take any notes. Specially Tony in the reception totally waist of money avoid at all cost
