    Fabulous hotel, great value for money and stunning public spaces

    We stayed in this hotel about 15 years ago with its mustard carpets and dated rooms and loved it then. Upon our return it has been completely refurbished to a very high standard yet still in keeping with the hotel's history. The public areas are simply fabulous and still very grand as you enter the reception area. The rooms have an art deco theme, are clean and fresh.The location next to the beach is brilliant. Lots of sunbeds around the pool and the garden has been landscaped so plenty of plants and grass not just rows of people sunbathing. The pool closes around 5pm but you can still sit on sunbeds. The staff are all very helpful and accommodating. The food at this hotel is fantastic. So much choice and of a high quality. It was difficult to decide what to have for breakfast and dinner each night. Tried as much as I could eat!! The hot food was hot and delicious, constantly being replenished. The dining staff super efficient not a dirty table in site. We stayed in the hotel for entertainment a couple of nights. One of the acts was similar to Il Divo and they were absolutely brilliant - the bar area was packed. There were some children here during our stay but I would say this hotel is more suited to adults.NegativesThere was some noise in the room from the corridor (tiled floor) and the people in the room above us liked to move furniture quite frequently. The cocktail bar is now more of a regular cafe/bar and our cocktail was not very nice - we sent it back no problem. During our last visit the cocktails were amazing so perhaps the management could sort this out. All in all this is a fantastic hotel, quality food, fab service, great atmosphere and still carries the opulence and ambience of an era defined by glamour and sophistication. Nice touch with the giant pictures around the hotel of Sinatra, Loren etc. I relish all the nostalgia. Love this hotel and will definitely return.

    Going to keep this short. Hotel spotlessly clean, as with most spanish hotels. Staff polite and helpful. Bedroom a good size with a great walk in shower. Good size balcony and free safe. Lovely dining room with the best choice of food that we have ever had, all well cooked. Very nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds most of which are on a terraced section overlooking the beach. There is a lovely bar on the dining room roof overlooking the paseo and beach.Would we stay at this hotel again? Without a doubt - yes.     Great hotel. Fab location for walking & sea view. Special mention to our cleaner, she left our room spotless everyday. Thanks to all chefs for preparing lovely buffets at breakfast & dinner. We enjoyed our meals no matter what time we arrived, always fresh & replenished. Friendly & helpful reception staff. We have just returned relaxed & refreshed albeit a little heavier!     Just back from a wonderful stay at the hotel pez espada. This hotel is in a fantastic location very close to the marina in Benalmadena and right across from the beach. The rooms are lovely and the food is great with lots to choose from. Very helpful staff too. All in all a wonderful hotel.     We have been to the hotel 3 times and love it. The beds are comfortable, everything is clean and the food is amazing. The staff are also so kind - in particular Jose Maria in the restaurant and Manolo on Reception. Jose was brilliant with us and our little one. Manolo was the welcoming face we were so happy to see when we got there later on at night. We would return without question but would be very grateful for entertainment like The Greatest Showman that was on when we came once. The singers are alright when they have some life about them (which some do!) but others less so. Some variety would be much better please with the mixed clientele you attract now. An offering for kids would be a bonus. (We love the playground at the back!)Thank you for a lovely stay!
