Location

The hotel is located right in the commercial and cultural centre of Figueres, a few metres away from the Dalí Theatre and Museum. The railway station is around 600 m from the hotel and the beach in Empuriabrava is some 15 km away. Girona-Costa Brava Airport is situated at a distance of approximately 40 km and Barcelona Airport roughly 156 km.

Facility

The hotel has 65 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. Guests are warmly welcomed by English- and French-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby.     Located centrally, just off the rambleas. Basement secure parking available just around the corner. Comfortable hotel bedroom. Excellent shower. Very good breakfast on the first floor breakfast room. Note this is not the ground floor restaurant which was terrible, reviewed separately.

    The Real Thing

    As soon as I entered the reception, I was greeted by the Manager/Owner?. We exchanged our ideas about cover groups for I was in town to see The Catalan Beatles.(excellent). She, Pink Floyd cover in Munich 3 days before.A really worthwhile experience. The bedroom was very comfortable with quality furnishings. The bathroom made me want to update my own bathroom! And the price was as friendly as the hotel itself. Thankyou.

    Good location, near important sites

    When we stayed at this hotel, the street was beeing rebuilt, so access was not easy. It is well located downtown, near the Dali museum and other interesting sites. Our room was modern, a little dark as we had a small window overlooking and internal courtyard. Our bathroom in comparison was much brighter. However, this location made the room quiet at night.Breakfast was ok, and the staff friendly enough.

    Hotel Duran was a great find. Centrally located just off La Rambla with a very welcoming staff. The hotel has been carefully renovated and updated and yet retains its old world charm. Linens and towels were all good and the bathroom had been renovated to contain a walk in shower. Black out curtains kept the room dark appropriately. The optional breakfast was good (13E) with freshly squeezed orange juice. Duran has a lovely dining room and a great set menu. Service was exquisite. We enjoyed our three-night stay there very much.

    I was very disappointed with my paella. There weren't many goodies in it and it was expensive for what it was. I had difficulty selecting from a la carte menu. Set menu with just 2 courses would have been better but this is only for hotel guests. Jane
