  Modern golf hotel

  The hotel Lavida is situated at the Camiral resort, which will host the Ryder Cup in the future. It offers two 18 hole golf courses and nice training facilities. The Lavida is the 4 star hotel while there is also the Camiral hotel which is 5 star. The rooms are not really big but quite modern and if you are there for just playing golf it is fine. Restaurant and breakfast were ok. Staff was friendly and polite. No fitness at the hotel, if you want to go to fitness you have to use the Camiral hotel at extra charge. Could be offered for free as the rooms at the Lavida are also not that cheap.   Modern, clean functional hotel which is the ‘second’ cheaper hotel of Camiral. This hotel is largely for golfers and should be seen as such, not really one for young families as the pool is very small and largely a plunge pool.That being said it is a very nice hotel and the pool is very pleasant at the end of a long day. The bar area is nice and the service is very good. We found the staff very helpful (but note the reception is not always manned as they seem to do a lot of jobs around the hotel as well).The breakfast has been criticised in other reviews but I found it to be very good and more than ample. Coffee is always available downstairs.The setup of the room is a little odd with the sink in the room and a glass shower which is slightly awkward if your sharing with your golf buddy but you can make yourself scarce for 20 minutes or so so not really an issue Camiral a Quinta do Lago Resort, Marketing at Lavida Hotel, responded to this review Dear Mr.Concernedmonkey,Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review.   Exceptional Golf but room left alot to be desired!

  Firstly let me say that the Golf courses are exceptional. The Lavida hotel is really only a 3* as there are things you expect from a 4* that just were not there, I get that it is a modern minimalist design but this shouldn't lead to cutting corners. It's really for groups of men playing golf or cycling for 2 or 3 days where they are out all day and don't mind living out of their suitcases. I was with my wife and we were staying for 7 nights, I wish I had booked the other hotel! So, the negatives are that the room was very small, there was no bathroom - so no where to lay out your toiletries, the small sink - was in the room, the original towels barely covered you so we had to ask for bigger ones, although the shower was nice and big the water took 10 to 15 minutes to warm up and most days barely got warm - not sure if this was because we were in the very end room, there was only one draw under the TV and that was broken, we had to live out of our suitcases, although there were a few small shelves they soon got filled up, there was no tea & coffee, there was no mirror for my wife to sit at to do her hair & makeup she had to stand in front of the sink which then delayed me getting ready, there were no bed side tables, you could not turn out the lights whilst lying down - you had to sit up and reach. The positives on the room were that there was a fridge, the TV had Sky etc. and the bed was very comfortable also the wi-fi was good, plus there was air con. So, apart from the room everything else around the resort was excellent, the reception staff were lovely especially Marta, the staff & food in all the resort restaurants were excellent.   Fanstatic 3 days playing Golf at Camiral and staying at the Lavida. Nothing was too much trouble!!

  Just got back from 3 days staying at the Lavida Hotel and playing Golf with my Son. Before we travelled I nearly cancelled the booking for this Hotel based on the reviews, but fortunately as it turns out, I didn't. The Hotel is very modern and clean, rooms are great with comfortable beds, good aircon and space to store clubs etc ... Yes the bathroom is glass - but there is a curtain you can pull across so it is not a problem. Breakfast was good - fruit, continental, cooked bacon/egg/sausage/beans tomato etc .... Swimming pool is on the smal side - but we were there primarily to play golf so again not an issue and you can use the pool at the main Camiral hotel if needed. The staff were great, organising transport around the resort, early checkin and late checkout etc.. nothing was too much trouble. The Golf was great - both Tour and Stadium courses are fantastic and not impossible for high handicap golfers like us!! We also ate at the main Camiral Hotel which was very good. As a bonus - while we were there - Pepe Guadiola hosted his Legends Golf Tour and the Full England Football team were there for a pre Andora traning camp!!So overall - a fanstastic few days - ignore the previous reviews - book it and enjoy the Golf!! We will be back !!
