Modern accommodation, relaxed, friendly staff but lacks soul

    rating28 May 2026

We stayed in a 2 bed duplex with our two teenage children. Nice and spacious, and excellent terrace area with 4 sun beds and table and chairs for 4-6 people. TVs in bedrooms and lounge. Good kitchen, with hob, dishwasher and large fridge BUT NO OVEN! After reading reviews, I thought we could get pizzas cooked at Spar but their oven had broken (and had been for quite a while apparently!). Great homemade ice creams at the spa and not too expensive. The showers are the best we’ve had, powerful and always enough warm water. Maid service daily to empty bins and make beds. We recommend the breakfast, we purchased for the week when we arrived (got 20% discount for the week, which I think works out slightly cheaper than booking it through Jet2). Plenty on offer, from 8-10:30 each day. The onsite Spar is good. We however walked to Hyperdino in Arguineguin a mile away to stock up and got a taxi back for 7 euros (taxi rank outside Hyperdino; NB. As there were no taxis in the rank after about 20 mins we phoned the hotel, who wouldn’t phone for a taxi to bring us back like we have at other hotels!)The hotel itself lacks soul! No bar, restaurant, centre. Nice central garden area that in my opinion is crying out for a feature/seating/quiet bar or cafe. Roof top pool is fine, but small and not allowed balls or inflatables (I presume because it’s high up), plenty of sun beds and room by the pool with umbrellas if you ask for them Monday to Friday as I’m guessing most people are at the beach club then. The Perchel beach club set up is a little odd but okay once you get used to the slightly odd arrangement. It’s open from 11am until 8pm. Free entry for hotel guests Monday to Friday. Children loved the pool and there was always space for us. You can’t take any food or drinks in though, not even water. Good facilities there with showers, which were useful for our check-out day and late flight home. The local area was my main disappointment. It’s not pretty at all, the beaches are not particularly nice. Arguineguin feels a little run down, but we did find a few nice restaurants with great seafood and friendly staff. There’s also the obvious eye saw of the cement factory. We went to Maspalomas beach for a day. We got taxis for 23 euros each way but there are also buses. Well worth it, as it’s a really good beach. I’m a runner, and whilst you can usually run pretty much anyway, there aren’t many routes here due to roads etc and the main run along the seafront is okay but by no means a draw! The gym is good, and always quiet when I went there, with plenty of equipment and the usually cardio machines including 2 treadmills. Great if you love surfing, seems to be a real surfers hot spot with locals there everyday and a surf hire place by the beach club.Overall a nice hotel, good breakfast but lack of atmosphere and local area disappointing.

    Take me back!

    rating12 May 2026

What an absolutley fantastic place, we went with 3 young children and it was one of the best places we have ever stayed, The hotel reception staff and cleaners felt like friends even after a short 7 night stay, The rooms are modern, well equipped, spotlessly cleaned every day with new towels and bins emtpied. dishwasher + tablets, washing machine and tumble dryer was a god sent, no need to pack loads of towels they are provided clean and fresh everyday for the bathroom and the beach/pool towels swapped at reception as often as required. very handy and reasonably priced shop on site with fresh bread, bakery with icecream cafe right in the hotel compex, not the usual rip off shops you get at some places either. The Perchel beach club was another level again, it was superb and I could rattle on all day about it. You have 3 pools all linked by waterways, shallow pool, gradual walk in pool, and a deeper pool with jacuqi sun beds half in the water, it was very luxurious, and the staff were again brilliant and after one day you were welcomed as friends! (with a free glass of bubbly!) small issue I think they could work on is I saw a childrens drink bottle taken from a parent before entering, I can understand if it were a cool box with sandwhices and packs of beer but I felt not allowing childrens water bottles into the beach club was a bit mean, in saying that we took 2 or 3 in and drank them round the pool and were never questioned on it so I dont think its a strict rule. Some people have mentioned the cement factory and although its a little unsightly it in no way bothered us and was simply a couple of towers sticking out over the trees. no noise whatsoever, The local town isnt much to right home about and the walk there is clearly under construction so wont comment on that too much, but it certainly isnt the most scenic walk, however we loved it so much at the hotel/beach club we often didnt leave the place so didnt bother us, The restaruants we did visit in the town were very nice so its worth a wander in for tea but dont expect a big night out, there were also some very nice posh places to eat but werent child friendly, most of these are on the sea front so very nice surrondings. so to summraize.. If your looking for Irish bars, kids Disco's and 1€ pints this isnt the place for your family, but if you enjoy a bit of luxury and a really well looked after resort I highly reccomend Cordial Santa Agueda, Team Cordial, Other at Resort Cordial Santa Agueda & Perchel Beach Club, responded to this review Dear Jonathan, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and heartfelt review! Loved it

What can I say? Amazing place, fabulous staff. We had a great holiday. The place is very luxurious and well maintained. From our apartment, we saw the beautiful garden. We enjoyed the extensive buffet every day.Although many people came for breakfast, it never felt crowded. Every morning we were warmly welcomed by the kind staff member Ismaël—many thanks for that!At breakfast, you can also have a fresh omelet or egg prepared for you. Fantastic! Our apartment was spacious and modern, with a well-equipped kitchen, so we could occasionally cook for ourselves.Everything was thoroughly cleaned every day. Thank you, Jessica from Housekeeping! The reception staff were also always very friendly and helpful. One final note:Yes, there is a cement factory next to the resort. And no, you don’t notice it at all—it’s simply part of the scenery. In fact, I would recommend visiting the small town next to the cement factory. It’s one of the few places in the south of the island where you’ll find real local life in the evenings. There are no endless tourist shops along a boulevard, but plenty of atmosphere from local fish restaurants and residents bringing their barbecues to the beach. For me, this actually made the experience more authentic. Great family holiday

    rating27 Apr 2026

We stayed in a 3 bed beach front villa which was perfect for our family, we were travelling with 4 children. It was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and the pool and outside area were fantastic. The main building for the hotel was a little walk from or villa, but reception staff were always friendly and breakfast was nice, albeit by day 7 the selection became tiresome. The gym was great and there was a little spar shop close that was well stocked and reasonable. We didn’t use the hotel pool as the beach club was so lovely, you do have to queue for about 20mins prior to opening to get a bed, but no early get ups as it doesn’t open until 11, and you get seated really quickly with a nice welcome drink. Food at the beach club was lovelyThe town is a 15min walk away with a few nice restaurants to choose from. All in all I’d recommend the hotel, beautifully kept and very relaxing Team Cordial, Other at Resort Cordial Santa Agueda & Perchel Beach Club, responded to this review Dear Sam, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a warm and detailed review of your family holiday with us!
