    Nice location, but bad services

    Nice location and large rooms, but smelly and bad services; like no running water (broke several times), no English speaking staff and we needed to pay up front before getting the key of the room (which is especially frustrating when you are part of a large traveling group and are one of the first to arrive)

    We booked this hotel with booking.com beleiving it to be a 3 star cavehouse hotel, with onsite resturant and swimming pool. Was extremly disappointed, as hotel was only a 1 star, had no site resturant (had to drive 4.5 km on other side of Guadix to get to resturant) and pool was fithy meaning we could not safely use it. All of the so called sports activity equipment was damaged and unuseable. Hotel reception was closed daily from 2 to 5 and on Sunday from 1.30 onwards. Only gave it a 1 out of 5 because the surrounding views where good. Would not recommend this Cavehouse complex in Guadix.

    Attention, the management of this hotel changed recently. Although you find amazing reviews about it, they may not be updated. My family and I visited the hotel two weeks ago and stayed in caves 8 and 9. There was NO hot water in the shower, the TV and hairdryer didn't work at all, the room 9 was dirty, all the pets that once were there disappeared, NO swimming pool or any sorts of entertainment. Suddenly at 8 pm, the electricity runs out in the whole hotel and we stayed in the dark for hours. The owner never apologized, only came up with cheap justifications, and too unprofessional. The man who guides us to our rooms also had his pants dirty, like he had pissed himself, which is actually the smallest issue of it all. I think they are keeping the place for drug-dealing and not to use it as a hotel. I wouldn't give not even 10€ per night in this hotel, I mean, even camping parks have electricity and some hot water. I give 1 instead of 0, because at least the landscape is nice.

    We arrived and were greeted by the owner,shown our cave, wow amazing. Above expectations clean and tidy everything you needed. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast the next morning served by lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble. We had a swim in the cave pool.     Fascinating hotel in an amazing area and very friendly

    We stopped here in this amazing cave hotel for one night in January, the temperature dropped to single figures overnight with a strong wind but with a bag of logs purchased for €5 we were snug and warm all night. Our spacious cave was for 4 people and had 3 rooms - one bedroom with a 15 foot tall ceiling, a large bathroom and a lounge/dining room with log burning stove, table, chairs and tv. The decor and furniture could do with a little updating but all was clean and comfortable.We ate dinner at the hotel (the only guests to do so that night) and had very personal, friendly and excellent service with lovely food and of course superb Spanish wine.The whole Guadix area is really interesting with strange hill and rock formations everywhere you look. There are whole areas of Troglodyte homes in Guadix town as well as in many surrounding villages. One part of Guadix looks a bit like tellytubbie land with humped hills each with a chimney poking up from the cave house below.
