Nice Hotel but with a Rip-off Spa

    rating10 Jan 2026

Very nice modern rooms with comfortable beds and Tea/Coffee facilities and a couple of [expensive] restaurants on site. The room rates are on the high side of average given that this hotel is in an insignificant backwater of a town which its only benefit is that it is close to the A92 to and from Granada an hour plus away. There is a Spa which is advertised at €18 for 2 hours however in order to access the Spa you have to pay an additional €8 for a hair cap and flip flops [not advertised anywhere] - this is NOT how to provide a good customer experience in an out of the way hotel and is verging on being a rip off. This is very unfortunate and spoils what could be a very nice hotel experience.

    Great dining experience

    rating20 Nov 2025

This hotel is in a very quiet area with very little nearby, It's a good base for driving to different places. You do need a car - it's about one and a half hours drive from Malaga Airport,It is a beautiful hotel - the rooms are spacious and has tea and coffee making facilities, Milk is a bit scarce, with only one little 'pot' provided per person, There was no problem getting extras.Food was very good, though coffee in the morning could have been hotter and cups were very small. Dinner was amazing with lots of lovely salads. There was hot food too. Stunning views from the patio and if you are lucky enough to have a room at the back of the hotel.

Awful Experience, terrible reception staff not for British guests.

    rating14 Oct 2025

This hotel and the lack of customer service we recieved really spoilt our tour of Spain. We booked to stay for one night directly through their website but received an email stating they were unable to take the payment from my debit card and the booking was cancelled so we booked alternative accomodation. The day before we were supposed to stay whilst we were in seville I received an email saying looking forward to your stay. I checked my bank and could see payment had been processed! Despite numerous phone calls throughout the day and evening & mulitple emails I was unable to speak to anyone who spoke english. When I finally did speak to someone the afternoon of the stay they refused a refund and insisted it was my fault and I had double booked. How they took payment second time around when I had written evidence they couldn't first time around I don't know. As we were not getting anywhere on the phone and had paid for half board we decided to head to the hotel. Upon arrival the member of staff Madga at reception who was the lady we spoke to on the phone was not sympathetic to the situation at all and didn't even apologise. I explained I would not have booked the same accomodation twice and her answer was people do all the time. I asked if they were going to offer us anything due to the issues trying to reach them such as complimentary spa access and we were told no. They do not have high customer service standards at all and are not welcoming to British guests. We went to our room and the view from the hotel is beautiful, but when I tried to charge my phone the plug socket came out of the wall, the shower same off the wall and the room was not spotless it hadn't even been hovered! Dinner was awful see my pics my starter was egg with broad beans and my main was half a plate of chopped fresh tomatoes. I think they gave my partner 10 chips. The whole of our stay the staff members smirked at us & spoke in spanish, considering they knew we were disappointed and felt cheated they didn't go out of their way at all to make sure we had a nice stay. I have since tried to complain via their website but I've had no response not the service you expect this day and age especially from a so called 4 star hotel.

    Poor Food and Expensive swim

    rating12 Oct 2025

Abysmal is the only word I can think of about the food, both breakfast and dinner. I went with Travel Dept and there were about 50 in our Group. Food is simply unacceptable. Rooms are nice, views are great if you're on the Mountain Side. The town doesn't have a great deal to offer but the location is good if visiting Seville, Granada, Codoba, Antequera etc. I wont be back unless there's a complete overhaul of the dreadful food. Oh and €18 if you just want to use pool !!!

    Hotel Mirador September 2025

    rating29 Sept 2025

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights while on a Highlights of Andalucia tour arranged by the Travel Department. Reception staff were friendly and helpful on arrival / check in of the 1st night of my stay. Hot meals were served in the restaurant as my flight had arrived late to Malaga. Breakfast was well prepared every morning and dinner every evening for self service, though I recommend use of a heater to keep the plates warm / hot for guests. Amazing day / night views of Loja and the mountains from the terrace balcony, I would have dined at the Japanese restaurant and used the spa facilities but unfortunately didn't have time. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and had good storage space, though a stand in shower would be easier as I found the bath tub slippery and older people may be at risk of falling. Unfortunately during one night of my stay when ordering evening drinks at the bar on the ground floor, I observed a staff member being rude, surly and impatient. She appeared to have an issue with another guest and I having a brief conservation at the bar before ordering our drinks, the bar was not busy at this time. This guest was in my travel group. He was politely trying to explain what kind of drink he wanted while standing at the counter, pointing to a bottle on the shelf. She shouted at him to stop, mistakenly assuming he was going to walk in behind the bar and got so frustrated, that she accidentally knocked a glass off the counter and it smashed on the floor. I understand that staff can feel stressed when there are a lot of guests staying in the hotel, though I honestly feel her attitude was not great and shouting at a guest is uncalled for. I hope in future she will be more polite to guests. Overall, I was satisfied during my stay and would stay again for one night or two if passing through Loja.
