Too warm even for snakes.

Perfect stop between Grand Canyon and Los Angeles. Very hot climate. Kids loved the pool. Not clear where to get pooltowels. Wagon Wheel restaurant closeby. At the reception we were told to keep the door closed as snakes might sneek in for the cool air. Bit frightened for the kids.

Great independent hotel

15 May 2025. We’re a senior couple traveling with another senior couple on Route 66. We had a very nice stay at Rio Del Sol motel in Needles, California. Our room, 103 had 2 queen size beds, microwave, mini refrigerator, but no coffee table pot. I believe the front desk can provide one. The room was very clean, the beds were firm and comfortable. We got a good nights sleep. But what made this room stand out over most other hotel and motel rooms was it had two luggage racks. The staff helped us with our Route 66 routing. Though there were railroad tracks nearby, we did not hear any trains that night. Rio Del Sol met my criteria for great night’s sleep. Lovely, clean room, comfortable bed, well maintained facility. Would definitely stay here again. The only things lacking were directions for operating the TV and a hand held sprayer in the shower………………………………………………………………………………………..

Nice but starting to show its age

Been coming here for many years. Sad to see that no general maintenance is happing any longer. Lack of this is everywhere. Used to be a premier place to stay. Staff is super friendly. Rates are too high for no housekeeping taking place any longer during a stay. Large clean rooms

This is a better-than-basic motel. The room is large, with a comfortable chair as well as a comfortable bed, microwave and refrigerator. It also features featuring a work area. And it is very clean. The pool is shady. And unlike another hotel we tried, the pet fee charged is the same as we were quoted on the phone. We would stay here again.
