  Great location next to the beach and a short walk to the local restaurants. I would definitely go back but just for the location it was at. Breakfast was good. Other meals not so good. We were all inclusive but went out for food every night apart from the first night. Rooms were clean but basic. I would recommend this place if you are wanting to go to different restaurants to eat. The main bar inside where they do the entertainment is extremely dated. Good for the price and location. Don’t like how the room they keep your cases in when delaying are not locked and anyone can walk in and out.

  Staying at the hotel during a hurricane should have tested my nerve, but security and service failures turned it into a harrowing ordeal. Check-in was not available until late afternoon, and the luggage room was left unlocked, a glaring lapse that would leave my valuables exposed from the start. There’s no lock or controlled entry on the beach door access, so anyone can walk in, which made me and other guests feel unsafe from the moment we arrived. I decided to keep my valuables on me but my bag was stolen from under a sunbed at the pool while I chatted with a friend whilst actually on the sunbed! When I reported it, the response was blunt and unhelpful—the staff told me to call the police, which was impossible because my phone was inside the bag. When I finally borrowed money to pay for the taxi to the police, I wasn’t alone: there were other holidaymakers there who had already fallen victim to pickpocketing and theft, underscoring a troubling pattern rather than a single incident. The staff remained dismissive, with frequent eye-rolling and sighs whenever I sought help, and losing my passport, cards, and phone left me utterly stranded. There were hardly any visible security measures—no cameras and unrestricted access—so the risk felt baked into the hotel’s fabric, not just an unfortunate episode. We chatted with some other people who were staying there, who had some small items stolen from their room. We felt really unsafe the whole time. The location was only okay, quiet with a few bars across the bay, and the food was average. The hurricane chaos—water streaming in and government alerts pinging on everyone’s phones—was the latest layer of distress. All told, I would never return due to safety concerns, the responsive indifference of staff, and a fundamental failure to protect guests’ belongings.

  I booked a Superior sea view room and had to check I had the correct room because it was so small. It was OK for one but would not have been for two - not what I was expecting from a 4* hotel. Apart from this, the hotel was a good place to stay as it was handy for the beaches near by and the food was fine. There was plenty of entertainment for children but not for adults that I could find - in Reception, there was a timetable of events but I never found them. Also, the pool closed at 6pm but often there were still people swimming in it after this time, ignoring the rules and absence of lifeguards although the water was deeper than in my gym's pools.

  Great short stay at the Leonardo royal hotel. Very nice hotel, clean, nice food, great entertainment, very polite team and staff, thus especially, Carmine, his customer service was outstanding.   Avoid at all costs….

  I booked the Leonardo for 2 nights but checked out after the 1st night as the hotel was so grim. The room was extremely mouldy and as I have a chest complaint I could not continue my stay there. I also woke in the morning covered insects. After a very lengthy conversation with the deputy manager I was refunded for both nights. I would avoid the hotel at all costs it is dirty, mouldy, dark, depressing and unwelcoming. I wouldn’t even give it one star!
