Amazing holiday thanks to the entertainment team - Hugo & Bryan!

    rating27 May 2026

I can highly recommend Sandos El Greco hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing stay with stunning scenery. Portinatx is a quieter, more remote part of Ibiza but you can easily access the rest of the island via frequent and very reasonably priced buses. The hotel itself was clean and well equipped. The buffet food was a very good standard and available 3 times a day with generous opening hours. There is also a snack bar open most of the time in between. The drinks are hit and miss but overall very good and you soon learn which drinks to get from which bars. The beach is incredible and only a few minutes away. There are a few stairs to get to get down to it but they are manageable even for the older generation. The waiting and cleaning staff are very friendly and attentive. The evening entertainment was surprisingly good and the quality of the acts was very high, with excellent singers, dancers and tribute artists. There is a good party atmosphere but it’s not as intense as some of the hotels in central Ibiza which are targeted to a younger clientele. The real highlight of the holiday for me though has been the resident entertainers; Hugo and Brian. I am not usually one to get involved with games but I ended up participating in so many activities including pool, darts, ping pong, corn hole, shooting and more. This was all down to the encouraging and caring nature of Hugo and Bryan. They manage to create a playful yet competitive environment, working through language barriers and brining people of all ages and nationalities together. Those guys work so hard going from activity to activity and keeping up the energy and high spirits. They were also excellent with my 17 year old son and helped to keep him entertained and engaged. The hike to the lighthouse, lead by Hugo was incredible and is a must for anyone who appreciates picturesque views and scenery. Hotel: 8.5/10Hugo & Bryan: 10/10!Sandos El Greco and Portinatx in general has something to offer for anyone wanting a fantastic family holiday.

Great holiday but a different experience from last year.

    rating24 May 2026

After having the best experience in September we booked again straight away and have just returned home in the 23/5/26 .. this time the experience wasn’t as good. When we arrived we asked the receptionist ( Laura ) which room we had been allocated but she wouldn’t tell us but she said special room and surprise .. anyway we were given our band and asked to wait to be called when our room was ready.my husband and I were waiting on our friends to arrive from their flight so we helped ourselves to a cava and waited in the reception area.. we realised that actually she had gave us a blue band and not the gold one for the Royal elite that we had paid for so we went back to the reception and she changed it , we asked again about the room but told it wasn’t ready . Our friends came and they checked in and was allocated their royal elite room straight away . Eventually after nearly two hours waiting I asked reception and was given the room . 16 .. we had been emailing the hotel since October and requested a suite and offers to pay extra on arrive but was our emails ( several ) was never answered .. so although we had a seaview albeit with a stunning view of the roof below and a building site it was not what we had hoped for this time . When I adkec reception if this was a royal elite room I was told hotel was very busy and we had to accept this room . Also we had asked for an anniversary package for our friends as it was their 25th wedding anniversary while we were there , I supplied the banners . We paid for it and in the actual day we had to go to reception in the middle of the day to remind them . It was eventually done it was lovely but not the surprise we had hoped it would be for them as the tried to charge our friends again for this .. apart from these issues the holiday was fine and it was lovely to see all the sand friendly faces round the areas . Eusabio in the royal elite beach bar is a very special member of the team always smiling and he gave us a very warm welcome , Mario Jr and Raul are fab too. Special thanks to Mario he runs the dining areas so well . We had a beautiful meal in the dining restaurant the food and service was fantastic . We love Portinatx so much and we will return again.

    Wonderful week away

    rating23 May 2026

First time staying here. Check-in was quick (although our receptionist disappeared literally halfway through the process and was replaced by someone else), paid the tourist tax in cash upfront, no issue, and were assigned standard rooms on third floor. Room was spacious and clean, overlooking the side road and new hotel construction opposite. (Construction is limited and even banned during summer months, so didn't experience any noise) In fact most other noise came from within the hotel as you could hear people stomping around, opening balcony doors and the toilet flush from the room above. Small balcony with extendable clothes drying rack. Bed was semi-comfortable, although could have done with better pillows. Fully working air conditioning, TV and kettle with tea and coffee. Nice bathroom with large shower.Downstairs (level -1), a large bar area with plenty of seating, a few pool tables and a small stage (which wasn't used). All Inclusive drinks selection was good and as expected, with cocktails and local spirits, Amstel larger is actually served in pints. Service could be a bit up and down with bartenders being left solo at peak times, but shout-out to Nano in particular who was very good. The restaurant was again, a large well set out area, although most of the tables are set for 2, and some tables were randomly reserved. There is a no-swimwear policy, although there were some very questionable interpretations of this! The food, however, was some of the nicest I have had whilst staying at resort hotels. The selection and quality was generally excellent at each of the servings (apart from one lunchtime, which lacked a little, but still something to choose from). If staying more than 5 nights on all inclusive, you also can book one evening in the separate Al A Carte restaurant, which provides a four course menu with drinks, and was an exceptional experience.Outside there is a small terrace with a few tables and the snack bar and then it drops down a few steps to the pool area. There are only a couple of non-smoking tables outside which are situated just outside the doors, I personally would prefer to see more as most of the smokers sit directly outside the snack bar and you have to pass by these tables to access the beach and lower level.Didn't use the pool, but the sunbeds looked rather cramped. There is also a pool bar on the lower level and all drinks for outside are understandably served in plastic cups. The entertainment is generally performed on a stage outside on this lower level and in the evenings, the sunbeds are cleared out the way and replaced with tables and chairs. There is also a comprehensive programme of different types of activities that the entertainment staff host most of the day.Have seen several reviews about the amount of steps. Yes, this is a thing and to get down to the beach there are at least 50 steps from the bar level, and most of these have different size treads making it somewhat awkward. Within the hotel itself there are 2 lifts which service all floors including down to the bar/restaurant, but otherwise I don't believe there is any step-free access to the outside areas. There are exclusive areas for Royal Elite bookings, these include a separate self-service premium bar in the main bar area, and a separate outdoor area with better spacing for the sunbeds, which we didn't have on our booking. The resort itself is reasonably quiet, with a few other hotels in the area, another couple of beaches and a smattering of shops, bars and restaurants. There is little to do in terms of activities, however the land train and bus stop are a short walk across the beach and up the hill on the other side. (Careful with the bus however as it is pretty much one bus that covers the route and it is known for not bothering to run for a collection as we found out having to pay €60 for an Uber back from Ibiza town!). The land train is a great way to see and learn about some of the close-by, local parts of the island. The nearest beach offers sunbeds and parasols which you pay the beach staff directly, it is 7 for a sunbed and 7 for a parasol, with a package deal 2 beds and a parasol for a reduced price. The sea is beautifully clear and the beach is sand.As per some of the other reviews, yes the hotel clientele is probably 90% English, and this unfortunately lends itself to hosting some idiots who just drink all day and start acting stupidly, but they stand out like a sore thumb as most people are there to relax and enjoy themselves. Hopefully the hotel will take it under advisement to monitor this more closely and stop serving alcohol to these few people who cause a nuisance to other guests. The majority of clients are also couples, or small groups, of a mix of ages.Overall it was a very enjoyable week away, and I would certainly consider returning, maybe even paying the extra to upgrade to the Royal Elite perks. OK Hotel not great

    rating23 May 2026

We paid the extra for a sea view and the royal elite package and assigned room 407..This room barely had a sea view as the main view was a derelict hotel...basically a building site that was unfinished and never will be.Room itself was always clean and tidyThe food, let's say was acceptable for a weeks stay, enough choice but nothing special, we ate out 2 nights ( which is nt cheap in portinax ) and ate in the special restaurant one night.I think if you stayed for 2 weeks you d get bored with the food.Hotel entertainment was OK,but as the clientele had an average age of 65 the music blasting out all day long in the main bar area where we sat during the rainy days was too much. The pool area was full everyday and people were putting their towels down at 5am and not showing up until midday nothing new there but these were english clients who moan about the Germans doing it. Hotel need to put a stop to this to give everyone a chance of getting a sun bed.Overall ... Hotel was ok..food was OK....portinax and the beaches were great. Tihomir Radoslavov Radkov , Director General at Sandos El Greco, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your recent stay with us.We are pleased to hear that you found your room clean and tidy throughout your holiday and that you enjoyed the beautiful beaches and surroundings of Portinatx. At the same time, we are sorry to learn that certain aspects of your stay did not fully meet your expectations. We understand your disappointment regarding the view from your room, despite booking a sea view category, and we appreciate your comments as they help us better understand our guests’ experiences. We also value your observations regarding the food variety, entertainment atmosphere, and sunbed availability around the pool area. Please rest assured that all feedback is carefully reviewed by management as we continually work to improve the overall guest experience and comfort for everyone staying with us.Thank you once again for your comments and for choosing our hotel for your stay in Ibiza.
