A lovely, well appointed boutique hotel, with a devoted staff in a historic building.

    rating23 May 2026

A beautiful hotel in what was a family palace from the 18th century, refurbished and extended. The common areas are beautiful, with a grand staircase and meeting rooms with frescoed ceilings and one room with stained glass windows (the family chapel?). The room was spectacular, with a wide and comfortable bed and a luxurious bathroom. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and even left birthday greetings and cake in my room, I guess because they noted it in my passport. The hotel is also very well located for Madrid's central squares and historic areas. The breakfast was generous. Catalonia Hotels y Resorts, Owner at Catalonia Las Cortes, responded to this review Dear Ambover1, Receiving such a nice review is always more than welcome. On behalf of the whole staff we wanted to thank you personally for having trusted us to spend some time in our amazing city. We hope to see you really soon, but in the meantime we wish you all the best. Hotel Catalonia Las Cortes.

Room not made up at 3 pm in afternoon

    rating23 May 2026

Look, as an upscale hotel in the middle of Madrid you would think they would be functioning as one.Nice lobby, front desk ladies very nice, but I think they send you to restaurants that somehow they know. The place we went to last night was fair with a waiter that seemed annoyed until we got our entres. We had a terrific time in Madrid around the markets, squares, and Palace. We left at 10;30 am and returned at 2:45.Our rooms were not made up..Inexcusable. The staff tries to do a soft shoe about the staff works to 3:30.So what. This is not a hostal. At least the last time I looked at the price.

Decent but wouldn’t use twice. Probably try another hotel in same area.

    rating15 May 2026

Room was nice and clean, bathroom decently laid out, small window in our basic double room, but the best thing was the location which was wonderfully centrally located and friendly staff. The room has no bath robes but did have slippers and a first day vanity pack with cotton wool pads ( not replenished though) some coffee pods and a coffee machine and a bottle of water if you sign up to their loyalty scheme. Hairdryer as standard, with iron and ironing board. The snacks they mention available for free from 4-7 were often empty and staff were in no rush to refill. You could boil a kettle and make yourself a green tea but just filter coffee available which had been there a while. The smoothies in their picture online never appeared in the 6 days we were there, just some watermelon pieces. Worst thing though was when I arrived at Madrid airport and checked my email, i discovered that at midnight the previous night they had sent a mail saying my credit card was declined for an unknown reason and the room reservation would not be held if I didn’t pay in the next few hours. So unpleasant journey through the airport trying to pay them via an email link (which never makes you feel safe!) and thankfully the room did not go to someone else. Would recommend they allow you to pay the first night in advance so you can see whether it goes through or not. Don’t want to repeat the experience!
