    The rooms are quite 'tired', the walls and window frames could be painted, the furniture to be polished. The curtains could be cleaned too. The bathroom is spacious, but someone was smoking there before i checked in.It was my last minute booking, thus it was Ok.

    The position of this hotel is fantastic being just off the Grand Via. The hotel itself fails to meet its 4 star rating. The reception is dark and dingy and very unwelcoming. There is little choice at breakfast, scrambled eggs, toast cold buffet. The shutters on the windows were broken with peeling paint, the windows didn't shut properly. Room was in need of decorating with marks on the walls. It was 20 degrees outside, the heating was on throughout the hotel, and we were unable to regulate the temperature in the bedroom. We were advised to open the broken window as the hotel was on it's winter schedule. On the positive side, the position is excellent, the staff were great, but seemed to be doing their best under very difficult circumstances.     Perfect location. Near Gran Via and mercado San Anton. Walking distance to the main attractions. Close to metro stations, but you barely will need them. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, very clean. We booked premium and it was huge, Equiped with everithing you need: airconditioning, fridge, coffee machine, cable TV. Our room had several little balconies. It seems that most of rooms has it.Alhough the neighborhood is central and vibrant, but the romms itself are quiet and has total blackout curtains.The staff is very nice and helpful at the reception and in the cafeteria where yuo can have lovely full brackfast for very reasonable price.We stayed at this hotel several times and are very delited.
