Location

Located a few metres from the Paseo de la Castellana and 15 minutes from the airport, the M-40 motorway takes guests straight from the hotel to the IFEMA Exhibition Centre and the Municipal Conference centre. A pleasant 10-minute walk brings guests to the Exhibition and Conference centre or Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu stadium. The hotel is surrounded by shopping streets, places dedicated to making the most of leisure time and the best communications links, giving guests the perfect combination for making the most of their time in Madrid.

Facility

12 suites and 904 double rooms are located on 15 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The complex has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park (for a fee). Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. There is also an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. A turndown service provides guests with additional comfort in the evening hours. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. For additional convenience, bathrooms also provide a hairdryer. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Going for a swim at the pool complex, which includes indoor and outdoor areas, is a great way to relax. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Dining facilities include a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The complex also offers special catering options.

    Two night stay Real Madrid Football Derby.

    My son and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as we were watching the Real Madrid derby staying on The Level. From start to finish with the money paid the whole experience was fantastic. The staff, being too many to name, from Elena on the front desk to all aspects were friendly and actually you felt special. The quality of the food, snacks and all different drinks options, all of which were complimentary made a huge difference to the stay overall. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and I wish UK hotels would take note on how to deal with paying customers and how to look after as it can be pretty shameful in the experiences I have had previously. Well done Meliá and I will be staying again.     "The Level" provided extras that enhanced our experience

    5 night stay booked through BA as a holiday package. We pre-paid to upgrade from the standard room to "The Level" which we found was well worth the extra.On arrival at main reception we were taken down the The Level to check in there, where Elena got our luggage delivered to our room whilst she explained all the facilities available in the Lounge. It was nice to have a glass of Cava and some nibbles before going up to our room. Throughout our stay the team in the Lounge looked after us whenever we called in, whether for a hot drink after an excursion around Madrid, or to sample the tapas and wines in the evenings or enjoy breakfasts. The hot tapas is served just before 6pm and remains available till about 9pm, but we felt the "hot" elements cooled down fairly quickly on the servery. Breakfast selections were good, and the availability of omelettes, fried eggs and eggs benedict to order (and other items) enhanced the experience.Our allocated room on floor 15 (top floor) was well presented. Some repairs to the curtains which were pulling away from the track would be desirable. There were a couple of other minor maintenance niggles in what was otherwise a well appointed room with plenty of storage space.The bathroom was luxurious but the absence of a towel rail meant we had to get towels replaced daily - we'd happily reuse towels as long as they can dry out overnight, and replacing daily feels a bit counter-cultural as we become more environmentally concerned. We would also have preferred to have the hairdryer available to use in the bedroom area - in this hotel it is permanently wired in beside the mirror over the bathroom sink.Melia Castilla is a bit out of town but having bought multi-journey tickets for the buses and metro we found bus route 27 particularly useful for getting near the centre of the city. The metro is also an option, we used all three lines from Plaza Castilla for journeys.Overall this was our first experience of Melia hotel group's "The Level" and we certainly hope to do it again, either in Madrid or across other hotels that have that facility.     We’ve loved our stay at Melia Castilla. Room was gorgeous clean and spacious. Location was great 9 min walk to the train station & 15 min walk to the Bernabeu stadium. Staff couldn’t do enough for us and so friendly. I also had a massage and it was so relaxing. Loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to come back. Thank you Melia!     Amazing Hotel!!!

    Excellent stay in The Level Room 1219 (12 February to 17 February 20226). Very comfortable king size bed, very large and quiet room, great bathroom amenities, free water and espresso coffee in the room. excellent service. Keep coming since 2014. Miquel and Elviro at the Level Breakfast excellent service. Very glad to see them every time we come. Evening snacks of excellent quality. Amazing breakfast. They do know how to make omeletes. Fresh juice, hamon, fruits etc excellent quality. I never search for an alternative hotel. Bust 147 can take you to city centre in 25 minutes. Bus stop 4 minutes from the hotel. Overall amazing stay every time we come to this hotel!!!! 4 star hotel but much better than many 5 star ones. Actually 5+ stars hotel.     A magical experience

    A truly magical experience, from the moment we were picked up at the airport (arranged via the hotel) until we left, the staff made us feel special. It takes a team effort to deliver such an exceptional service. A big thank you from us to all the staff. We have stayed in a few Meliá Levels now and the Lounge is always good. But the Lounge at the Meliá Castilla is by far the best we’ve experienced. It’s difficult to describe just how wonderful it was. We’d like give extra special thanks to Miguel who couldn’t do enough for us and also Elviro at Breakfast. Fermin, Maribel, Yasmin and Veronica who made our evenings so enjoyable at the Level Lounge. Also a big thank you to Elena on reception. Our suite was fantastic and housekeeping did a wonderful job each day, ensuring we came back to a spotlessly clean suite. Location is great, very close to the Bernabau and also very convenient for a number of different metro lines. We had an unforgettable stay and we can’t wait to come back.
