  Central location, clean & eco friendly

  We found Hostal Vidamia easily situated roughly between Centro Alameda station and the main shopping street Larios. The receptionist was friendly and helpful speaking good English and helped take our heavy case up and down the steep stairs. It is very clean and airy and a good use of an old building, it was surprisingly quiet given the echoey high ceilings and tiled floors. I was surprised to find we had a small room with bunk beds and a bathroom down the corridor when I thought I had booked a double room. l would recommend care when booking as different booking sites refer to rooms differently. My bed wasn't particularly comfortable, but the bedding and sheets were good quality. All the complementary toiletries were eco friendly and there were recycling facilities in the shared room. There was also a large fridge/freezer, microwave, tea, coffee & water as well as cutlery and crockery. I love Malaga and would definitely consider Hostal Vidamia if I need somewhere to stay.

  Nice hostel at a good location for a short stay

  Location good at old town area. No parking. Reception open only certain times. We arrived 10:00 in the morning and it just opened, we could leave our luggage there, and then return later.We had two rooms, twin and double. Double room bathroom was veery small, twin room also quite small. The space to sit in the toilet seat, especially in the double room's bathroom, was so tiny that any larger or taller people hardly manage, at least with the door closed.Shower worked ok, warm water and with good pressure.Rooms were a bit small.Upstairs there is a cosy common area, where you could keep your food in a fridge, and you could have used the microwave etc. to make some food/breakfast, there was also some plates and utensils. We finally did not have time to use that area, except the fridge.Rooms were clean.Reception friendly and gave some tips of free entrances on that Sunday, but that information was not totally up-to-date accurate, so always confirm on the museum/church directly about their prices/opening times/possible free-entry -times.Ok stay for 1 night in Malaga.

  couple of us stayed in Vidamia 3 nights. we were unlucky because conditioning has been upset for a month. While the balcon faced to the street, we were not able to sleep all these 3 nights! When we claimed it, young receptionist Alex replied - with a smile - "people have right to shout at night in the street. That's your problem'.WiFi didn't work at allPhotos do not reflect the room looking.Plus for common are on the top (3rd floor) and proximity to all important points

  Lovely spacious rooms

  Stayed two days in this hostal and it was above our expectations. Even it is in the heart of the historical centre of Malaga, it was a very quiet place. The rooms have everything you need, simple but clean, AC is a plus. Staff very helpful with instructions about the keys in case you run late for check-in.   Don't expect much sleep

  This is a lovely hostal in a fantastic location and great value. No lift, a slight problem, but at least I was only 1 floor up, not at the top which is 3 floors up! Very clean and tidy with efficient check-in and friendly welcome. The room was not what I expected (bunks) but still OK. Also wasn't expecting bathroom down hall but I can cope and I was the only one using it. The only downer, and sorry it's a big one is the sleep quality. Firstly the doors/walls are paper thin. If anyone even opens their door let alone walks down the hall noise is big. I had a pretty room with a juliette balcony facing the street. The noise from the street was huge. Local drunks or whoever they were making noise seriously till at least 4am. A shame, it's a nice place but I just didn't get much sleep.
