  We are staying at Vincci Selection Posada del Patio opposite. The fire brigade has been putting the flames out all week. They’ve cordoned off the bridge over the river.

  Don't listen to the negative reviews! practible and easy for a city break

  We booked the ibis hotel for 3 nights in May as a mum and daughter on a city break. As the stay approached we read a lot of negative reviews surrounding this hotel, making us apprehensive about the stay. However we were pleasantly surprised, this is no luxury hotel, no luxury services, however is clean, practical and has plenty of you friendly staff. We booked the hotel on a room only basis as we wanted to have breakfast out, so cannot comment on this however it was busy every morning on our way out. The bar does offer soft, alcohol and hot drinks to have in the bar or take up to your room at a small cost. There is a service to refill water bottles for free downstairs as well. As well as locker storage for suitcases and bags if you arrive before check in or need to check out earlier than your flight. we used this twice and felt this was safe and secure. The rooms were small and the zircon wasn't overly powerful however the rooms were not uncomfortable by any means, comfy beds and small amounts of storage space. the bathrooms were small and dated with signs of wear however were clean and well stocked. We would definitely stay in this hotel if we returned to malaga on another city break, the hotel is a 5 minute walk from the absolute centre of malaga and a 10 minute walk down tot he beautiful harbour !!!The only negatives which we could point would be the noise that can be heard from people walking above your room, this could go on late into the night which was not ideal but this is completely unpredictable and depends on your room and stay. Little noise heard from outside and we were in the first floor over the downstairs bar which was open until late, we were disrupted by this maybe once, however again no fault of the hotel itself. thank you for our stay.

  On the side of the canal/river just opposite the Old Town. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which stayed open until 11am. There was a good bar opposite reception and next to the breakfast area. In the Old Town there were plenty of bars and restaurants to eat and drink. We stayed in a superior room which had a fridge. The room was a typical clean and modern Ibis design. Would stay there again.

  Location is good, short walk to centre, check in was good. As mentioned by others, (note to self, always check reviews), room was hot when we arrived, asked staff for a/c, informed turned off for winter, open windows to let air in. Did that, arrived back at night, sound of bins being filled with bottles woke us, then after closing window found we had a mosquito in room which enjoyed its feast. Called reception, was advised this happens as next to storm drain, said they would provide a machine, which turned out to be a tin of mossie spray as all machines were in use. Wouldn't stay again...

  Perfect location, walkable to anywhere

  Perfect location, just outside the centre, but easily walkable to anywhere.The train station is a 20-minute walk for excursions or arriving from the airport.No problems with the room temperatures. The room is for sleeping, so it doesn't need a lot of space. Breakfast is 10 euros each if booked the day before, and as limitless is cheaper than anything outside.
