Malaga sweet but this hotel lacks

    rating28 May 2026

My husband and I spent a lot here for a suite at this hotel. When we entered the room I saw moths. It was a suite mind you so we paid top money for our hotel room. But that was the least of my concerns. There was non stop noise outside our courtyard windows every night with street cleaning at 2am. Now that is not the hotels fault but after my concern, no one seemed to care. The GM never spoke to me or anything. Then they scheduled our dinner reservation (which I confirmed four times) on the wrong night and we had to rush back from a day trip to make it. They argued with restaurant and the level of accountability at this hotel was a joke. I loved Malaga but there were so many things about this hotel that left a bad taste. The parking if you are driving is a joke. We had to self park in a public garage and pay another fortune ever night. No one smiles that works at this hotel. It is not a five star hotel. We are now in Seville and the difference is remarkable staying at what is a clearly great hotel. Sadly, I can’t reccomend.

    Disappointing

Disappointing dark rooms without a view around a central courtyard. Really lacking atmosphere good breakfast but terrace small and pool a postage stamp. Not worth the prices we paid

    Double Beds "Based on Availability"

    rating24 May 2026

Had a problem with our room that was extremely poorly handled by the hotel.Booked "Double Room" through Amex Travel for roughly $600 per night.Discovered on arrival that the booking was actually for a twin room (despite the very misleading name - the type of bed was buried in the fine print). It was too late to resolve - We were told that it would be sorted the next morning.Spent first night on two single beds pushed together. In my opinion a deeply misleading listing (and weird that they didn't confirm with us on check-in) but I can write off the first night as a misunderstanding. The next morning we were assured at reception that we would have a double bed by that evening. Checked again at lunchtime but the room hadn't been made.I was very explicit - This would be a double bed, NOT two single beds pushed together. I was assured it would be resolved by the evening.Bedroom still had 2x single beds pushed together early evening. They showed us another room but it was similarly two single beds pushed together. Before leaving for dinner I made clear that we would rather check out early and move to another hotel than spend another night on two single beds pushed together. I was again assured it would be resolved when we came back from dinner.Returning to the hotel 10-11pm the situation hadn't changed at all and we still had two singles pushed together in our room. I asked to speak to the manager. The front desk insisted it was too late and there was no manager available. They tried to call the manager and insisted that he was not contactable. We were told we could check out but with no guarantee that we would not be charged for the remaining nights of the stay. So we stayed. The next morning we spoke to the manager. His explanation was:- The type of bed offered in double room is based availability and best efforts. This is genuinely shocking to me at this price point. - He said that he had spoken to the front desk the previous evening. We were told he was unavailable - I guess this was a lie. He said it was too late to allow us to check out without charging us for that evening. Even though we had been misled into thinking the situation would be resolved multiple times over the course of the day.- He kept insisting that it was unreasonable for us to expect to speak to a manger at 11pm. Even though we had communicated very clear our expectations multiple times over the day and been told repeatedly that the situation would be resolved. He said he regarded the situation as resolved because he considers two single beds pushed together as acceptable. We were offered an upgrade for the final night, which we took as it was a room in the main hotel (it seems most of the room are in an adjacent building across the street - bizarre). But overall just a really terrible experience.I am ok to write off the first night as a misunderstanding. But we were quite clear with our expectations from that point and were misled every step of the way by the hotel staff into thinking that the situation would be resolved. Until such point as we ran out of other options.Really appalling service for this price point.Strongly recommend against staying in this hotel.

    Hilton Honors is a farce.

    rating20 May 2026

Recently stayed there 4 nights. Great hotel, good location. However, at breakfast I was surprised to be told I had not got breakfast included. The hotel management said as I had booked through Hilton Honors (HH) I had to discuss it with them.HH claimed it was crystal clear my booking did not include breakfast. I differ. Their web site only offered one price. It did not offer two prices, ie one including and the other excluding breakfast. Frankly, it was misleading. It appears HH can only offer slightly lower prices to members by excluding breakfast to make it appear cheaper. Conclusion, always book direct, never use Hilton Honors.

An absolutely flawless stay at Palacio Solecio – exceptional service, rooms, and dining!" We had an incredible experience at Palacio Solecio Malaga and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated the utmost professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. The accommodations were spectacular—immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, perfectly blending historical charm with modern luxury. The dining was a major highlight of our trip. The breakfast offered a variety of fresh, high-quality options and excellent coffee to start the day. Dinner was equally outstanding, featuring delicious, beautifully presented dishes and top-notch service that rivaled the best fine dining restaurants in Malaga. If you are looking for a flawless stay with world-class hospitality in the heart of the city, Palacio Solecio is the place to book. We will definitely be returning!
