    Firstly I have no idea why tripadviser says the hotel is closed? As I left there yesterday after spending 8 lovely days in one of the most beautiful places in Spain ( 1st august ).another thing I would like to make clear is there have been NO CASES of COVID-19 in this part of Andalucía. NONE! I will make a full review of this wonderful place later, but I felt strongly enough to write this now.

    We stayed in this hotel for a night en route from Granada to the coast. The drive there was spectacular and the views from Jubrique are amazing. The hotel is a little old-fashioned in its decor, and the room was quite basic, but it was comfortable and clean and the view over the mountains was beautiful. It is well-worth booking a room with a mountain view! The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were tasty and reasonable. It is certainly a great place to stop off as part of a longer trip.     Love the uniqueness of this little village away from the commercialised costa del sol beach areas an hour from estapona in the spanish hills. Not many of the locals speak english but we managed to do well with our broken spanish/english...you do need a car for getting about and there is a pool that is used by the locals and it has a bar, sun beds but no sun brollys so there is no shade by the pool it is also not at the hotel its about 10min walk. Staff at the hotel will explain different areas of interest they are helpful and friendly. Would go back.     Recently booked this hotel for a short break on my own and it was very clean with warm and friendly staff. Just thought I would give a few tips for future visitors. There is no lazy river, picnic area, garden or sun terrace at the hotel as advertised on the website. There is a terrace where you can sit and have a drink/food but there is nowhere to lie in the sun. These places are in fact situated around the village itself and the lazy river is actually 5km away, downhill, only reachable by car. There is however, in the village, a great communal swimming pool which is open everyday EXCEPT Monday from 12 noon till 8pm and serves food/drink/snacks/alcohol and coffees. It is brilliant! I need to mention though that the walk to it is not for the elderly or unfit as its around 150 metres up very steep pavement walkways. The hotel itself offers meals and snacks but only at designated times so its a bit restricted. Breakfast doesn't start until 9am so if you want a coffee before this time you need to go up the hill to a small café/bar where they do a superb coffee for only 1 euro. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room either which, sadly, had a negative impact on my whole trip, but not everyone would be bothered by that I guess. Only the owner Pedro speaks English in the whole village so prep your Spanish! On the whole it is a lovely place to stay if you want complete peace, tranquillity, detachment and true Spanish hospitality.     This hotel was booked for my wife as a surprise for our 8 year wedding anniversary she was totally taken back to the views and how spectacular it was. The staff & the owner Pedro was very warm & welcoming would highly recommend staying here we only took a few pictures as we were traveling around Andalusia.
