  Basic but great stay

  We booked this accommodation to extend our stay in Cala n Blanes and it was great. Apart from being great value for money , it is in a really central location in the resort with supermarket and eateries just steps away. Although quite basic our apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Beds were comfortable and wi fi was strong all the time. The pool area was really well maintained and pool looked very clean. We received a warm welcome on arrival and we would definitely stay here again. There was also a 'proper hairdyer ' in the bathroom.

  Stayed here at the end of september 2019.Found the accommodation to be dirty inside and out.The pool water was green with algae and the patchy grass had not been cut for some time. The sunbeds were full of bird droppings. To be honest it was not relaxing at all around the pool.This place needs an overhaul as is very run down.Our room was not cleaned for the entire week and the towels were filthy and stained.We had to clean the apartment ourselves and take our own rubbish bags out of the complex and put them in the bins around the corner.Even though this was a cheap week away I would never stay in these apartments again, even for free.There are some good bars and restaurants in the local area with Jimmy Hills square the main entertainment hub.There are plenty of better hotels in the local area.

  We had two apartments next door to another with 3 in one 4 in another. Balconys had lovely views. Apartment is basic but was so reasonable.Location is excellent right near the shops and resteraunts literally can see them from the room.Room is quite nosey due to location but it all finishes at midnight anyhow.The pool was lovely and clean room was clean with all the basics! Beds were comfy!Only issue was young people running around late at night as there is no reception as there apartments there was no one to enforce them shutting up!! Overall such a good holiday perfect perfect area for families can't recommend enough for low budget familyHoliday!

  Really nice people, clean, spacious and comfortable apartments, close to gorgeous lagoon, pool and table tennis available, close distance by bus to Ciutadella - bus stop in front of the apartments, perfect for friends or families; recommended! ;)

  We stayed at the Sol y Mar last September for two weeks. After many years of visiting Cala'n Forcata and staying in most of the properties, we finally got around to booking the Sol y Mar after they were recommended to me.We had a two bed apt, which was massive (50sq ft) on the upper floor. To be honest first impression was that these would be very noisy at night being so close to the main Jimmy Hills square, but not at all, as the bars have to close the doors at midnight to keep noise pollution to a minimum.The manager Juan and his two maids are lovely people, and although they struggle with speaking English (I am lucky as I speak a little Spanish) they really cannot do enough for you. On arrival which was after 19:30 on a Monday we were met at reception by Juan who offered us a choice of apts either ground floor or upper, passports and paperwork were dealt with on the spot no waiting overnight for your passport back. He then help us upstairs with the bags to the apt. The apts are very nice, basic but all you need when on holiday. The two bedrooms were both very good sizes one with a double bed and the other with two singles, both had ample storage wardrobes, separated in the middle by the bathroom which was tidy and clean, with a small shower/bath. The kitchen was in a separate room just off the main room and had a full fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and even a gas full oven/grill, along with plenty of pots pans etc. We had no kettle but when I asked Juan he brought us a brand new kettle up the next morning. The main room was fine with two comfy chairs and a sofa, free tv but not many English channels, and a wooden drop leaf table and chairs. To finish off there is a very good size balcony with washing airer and garden (plastic) table and chairs, which looks over the immaculate swimming pool and sunbathing garden.Our room was cleaned twice, and new towels every three days, with bedding changed at the end of each week.Although the Sol y Mar has no parking there is plenty of place to leave the hire car just behind or to the side of the apts.All in all a fantastic stay, and a great base for everything in the resort. We will be booking again in the future.
