  On arrival was shown to our room that was not in the main building which we were not expecting.We were told that the remaining rooms in the main building were being renovated so we had been given an update to a two bedroom two bathroom apartment . Two of us?The apartments were a couple of minutes away above commercial units that included a pub and a restaurant.The rooms were clean and well equipped and the his and hers bathrooms was nice.Although I had reservations about the location it was fine. No noise.Only had breakfast in the hotel. Large section and always hot.The pool and surrounding areas were nice and well maintained.There is a small gym that for this type of hotel was surprisingly well equipped.Did not go to the evening entertainment but seemed to be well attended. Weather permitting it is set around the pool.Not many restaurants in the resort but a few to recommend are the Cala Mitjana ( turn left out of the hotel)Alaska (turn right) and one I can’t remember the name but the last one in the block past Alaska.The second one along the beach is also good.The main beach is nice and there are also 2/3 other beaches in walking distance (40 minutes).The first, walk over the bridge. Turn right at the roundabout and walk until you see a signpost for Cala Mitjana on the left.The second Cala Macarella beach is the other side of the bay. Walk round to the right when you leave the hotel and take the steps opposite the hotel on the corner. Hotel Artiem.It’s a bit of a hike but well worth it. You can also get a boat ride from the harbour outside Artiem there and back if you don’t fancy the hike. There is a cafe on this beach.The third beach is another 15 minutes hike from the right hand side of the beach.Buses run from outside the hotel and a trip to Ciutadelle is recommended.   Relaxing break in Cala galdana

  Truly honest review of our experience at the hotel, we are currently on our last night of a 8 night stay. Overall, we have had a great holiday but some minor negatives to note but overall really positive. First impressions pulling up to the hotel from the coach were better than expected going from pictures online, nice clean, big airy entrance lobby with two members of staff on the reception. Reception staff were really welcoming and in particular there was a lady working behind the reception desk who related to us straight away as her baby was the same age as our baby. Everything was explained to us and check in was really speedy! We made our way to our room and we are currently staying in 535. Small room but really clean, modern and had everything we needed. To note, as I have looked online prior but couldn’t find information. a cot was provided and was waiting in the room on arrival complete with bedding which was a really nice touch as previously at other accommodation’s we have had to ask for a cot or wait for it to be delivered to the room. Only downside to the room was one of the beds, the mattress is awful for me personally as it is extra firm, it has felt like sleeping on concrete but the other bed in the room is fine. Admittedly I haven’t mentioned this to reception as I didn’t want to cause any hassle. The pool area was clean, well looked after. We didn’t use any other facilities including the gym or the sauna. The food at the hotel was hit and miss but I think the reason for this being is, as the season is coming to an end and the hotel shuts tomorrow it felt like the menu was really repetitive in comparison to reviews I have read before booking the holiday. Food was luke warm albeit the food I had was of good quality. The highlight for the hotel was the staff in the restaurant area in particular Jesus, Oscar and pepa. Absolutely fantastic and an absolute asset to the hotel. Nothing was ever too much, really attentive, professional but also took the time to speak to us regardless of the language barrier at times. The negative to note was today 30/10/25 the hotel staff were starting to close down the hotel ready for season end and at the pool bar the staff were so transfixed on deep cleaning and removing sun beds from around the pool ect that it almost gave a feeling that we was ‘just in the way’. Speaking to other families around the pool the feeling was mutual. Around mid day it started to rain so naturally everyone from around the pool went for lunch and the outdoor seating became full. We decided to buy sandwiches from the shop as the hotel did not have much food to serve as the stocks had been run down. We was unable to get a seat outside so we sat in the lobby infront of the bar. As we opened our sandwiches the man from behind the lobby bar started saying something about a manager and came out from behind the bar and said “no food, the boss will be watching on the cctv and pointed at the cctv camera above the bar. Then said something about him wearing a suit and if we see him to hide our food” I told the guy behind the bar if the manager has a problem then to come and see me as there is no where to sit outside and there is next to no food being prepared to be cooked or left at the pool side bar’ then another guest came in to the lobby and asked if he could order food and he said no, speak to pool bar manager. The pool bar manager then came in to the lobby after speaking with the guest outside and brought him in cutlery, place mats and sauces and allowed him to eat in the lobby. So why is it one rule for one and not for the other? So if I eat a packet of crisp in the lobby then is the hotel manager going to come and tell me off? I’d dread to think how they keep up with the demand when the hotel is at capacity and there is no room for people to eat when they clearly struggle with next to no guests in the hotel. Finally, the WiFi worked great for the first 3/4 days of our stay on the 5th level and then stopped working. Other guests we spoke to said the same. At dinner service tonight review cards were left on all tables and then suddenly the WiFi is working again? Frustrating. Overall great hotel, apart from the atmosphere on the last day of feeling an inconvience. I would of been inclined to give 5 star if it wasn’t for the atmosphere and experiences of the last day. At no time are they used to monitor or spy on employees, let alone guests staying at the hotel. With regard to Wi-Fi coverage, this was undoubtedly a temporary service interruption and had nothing to do with the closure of the hotel. The service is maintained until the closure tasks are completed (up to one week after guests have left the hotel).Once again, we would like to offer our sincere apologies for all these issues that may have detracted from your experience with us.   Stayed for a week at the end of October, hotel was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and looked after us well from the moment we arrived. Great pool area and restaurant with plenty of choice, even on the last night of the season.   We had a lovely two weeks in October at the Minura Cala Galdana. We arrived in torrential rain but the welcome from the staff soon brightened the mood. We had politely asked ahead if they could allocate a high floor room if at all possible and our request had been duly noted and acted on upon arrival… so thank you to the reservation team, it was appreciated.We had a room at the back and in all honesty it wasn’t as bad as I feared after lots of comments on TripAdvisor re the waterfall and cliff. However, I do feel the water feature has had its day and as it was only turned on for an hour a day the dank, mozzie inducing dirty looking water troughs were a bit depressing to look at! It would actually look much better if the troughs were just filled with some colourful flowers or something. We were, in fact, glad we had a room at the back though as the rooms at the front in the sun must get really hot.The restaurant is bright and airy and the staff super efficient at clearing, and at this time of year there was plenty of room to sit wherever you chose. The buffet area could get a bit chaotic at times, but that’s the same in all large hotels in most resorts. The food was quite acceptable but nothing special. I have to agree with other reviewers though that quite often it was lukewarm to cool even at start of service. Perhaps there is too much choice on offer and a more streamlined menu would mean less dishes to prepare and serve therefore less time for the hot dishes to cool down before they are brought to the dining room. Sometimes less is more.We didn’t bother with the entertainment but other people had really enjoyed some of the acts. I have to applaud the hotel on stopping the music by 10pm as it was really loud even at the other side of the hotel. As we’re 'oldies' and early to bed we thought that was really considerate even though the 'night owls' amongst us probably thought it ended way too early! In fact all the house rules were in place for genuine reasons (even though others may not agree). it must be very difficult to please all of the people all of the time. Perhaps they should even enforce some of them mote vigorously than they do at present… yes, you know who you are!!We had some lovely walks in the valley behind the hotel and on the Cami de Cavalls trail to the coves nearby, as well as a few 'pit stops' for a cool beer on our return in our chosen bars in the lovely resort. We also got the local bus out to Ciutedella which was easy to do and worthwhile. The hotel will provide all the necessary bus times and fares so no need to do too much research beforehand. After the first day the weather was fantastic for this time of year and we would highly recommend the hotel and resort providing you don’t require too many amenities nearby.Thank you to all the team for looking after us and still smiling at the end of a long season.
