Location

This hotel is located on the north coast of the island in the immediate vicinity of the vast bay of Arenal d'en Castell and overlooking the fine sandy beach to which the hotel enjoys direct access. Numerous shopping facilities and restaurants are just a few minutes away in the resort centre. Mahon, the lively capital of the island, is some 20 km from the hotel. There is a stop for public transport just in front of the hotel.

Facility

64 single rooms and 448 double rooms are available to guests in a 7-storey main building and a 3-storey auxiliary building. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities and a lift. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room and a playroom. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Other services include a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, a laundry service and a hairdresser. Cyclists can make use of the bicycle storage area and hire service.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. Valuables can be securely stored in a safe. Guests will also find a mini fridge included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-accessible rooms can also be booked. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. Pure relaxation in the hot tub, fun on the waterslide and refreshing drinks at the pool bar – guests will experience just how rich and varied a day in the water can be. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sport and leisure programme, which includes cycling/mountain biking, bocce, beach volleyball, volleyball, basketball, golf and horse riding. For a fee, guests can also enjoy tennis, crazy golf and archery. With snorkelling or, for a fee, water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, motorboat rides, paddle boating, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning and diving available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. The hotel offers numerous indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, darts, yoga, callisthenics and aerobics or, for a fee, billiards. Steam bath and solarium are available in the wellness area. Additional leisure activities include a kids' club, live music and a nightclub.

Meals

The dining area includes a restaurant (with high chairs) and a bar. A variety of catering options can be booked. Guests can choose between bed and breakfast, half board, full board and all-inclusive. A delicious and varied buffet awaits guests at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel also offers snacks. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Great Family Hotel

    Overall very pleased with our stay, great family hotel, lots to do, food was good (as far as AI food goes), Breakfast is really good, fresh omlettes and pankcakes cooked daily, loads of options. Theres fresh meats (steak, chicken, pork, turkey etc) cooked at lunch and dinner plus plenty of other options. There's fresh pizzas at lunch (block A) and at dinner time (Block A & B). The hotel and rooms were very clean and tidy. Pools and slides were great, splash area for young children really good too. Free bouncy castles and golf (just need to give a deposit for the clubs and balls), these are only open at set times though. Arcade with mini go karts as well. Lovely park but we didnt use it much as it was too warm. Pool in block B seemed to be cutting childrens feet due to rough tiles/grout so pool shoes recommended for them, cheap enough in the on site supermarket (although the supermarket 5 mins the road is cheaper in general), not sure about block A pool as we didnt use itOne major negative is the sun bed wars, I lost a full day through the week just queuing to be able to get a sun bed. The pools dont open until 9:30 which is really late I think but if you arent queuing by 8/8:15 for a sunbed, you arent getting one. They are fenced off and locked. One minor negative is the room size, very small for a family of 4 (bunk beds) but for the time we spent in there, it was manageable. Beds are like concrete though, ask for extra pillows as well if you can.The beach is right there for those that like that, short 2 min walk down a path, lovely small cove, you can walk out a fair way at hip height (adults). There are no sunbeds on the beach though so its a towel job.

    Our 4th May half term here with our now 11 year old. We had a very enjoyable week and the weather fantastic. Improvements seem to be made every year. New indoor bar furniture this year and the beds new in the room, along with walk in shower. Ok, yes it’s a 3 star, food is good and basic, staff work extremely hard to keep hotel clean. Room was spotless. Bring your own kettle for the room. 2 large pools, an adult (hip height) padding pool and water slides. Also a kids splash pool. A large outdoor kids play area, bouncy castle every evening. Would recommend. Mahon 20 minute bus ride.

    Our First Family Holiday

    We recently stayed at this hotel as a family and overall had a lovely holiday, though there were definitely a few areas that could be improved.The staff throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly and hardworking. They always seemed busy and did their best to help guests, which we really appreciated.The room itself was on the smaller side, but still comfortable enough for our stay. We slept well overall, although as this is very much a family hotel, there is naturally quite a bit of noise around the corridors and rooms. That said, I didn't expect to be able to hear someone snoring in the room above us!The food was probably the weakest part of the holiday. It was very hit and miss, with limited variety, and the main hot counter seemed to repeat the same meals several times. One evening in particular, there was genuinely nothing any of us wanted to eat, and we are not especially picky eaters. However, the burger bar was fantastic and became our go-to option for lunch most days.The pools were excellent and were definitely one of the highlights of the hotel. Our little boy absolutely loved the toddler pool. My only concern was with the safety gate surrounding that area. The lifeguards or ground staff kept the gates padlocked open, meaning they couldn't be closed to keep toddlers safely inside the pool area. Of course, parents should always supervise their children, but toddlers are fast and several children repeatedly tried to run out through the open gate. On one occasion, my son suddenly ran out of the pool area and sprinted toward the open exit, and I had to rush after him, nearly slipping in the process. We spoke to several other parents who shared the same concern, so I really think this is something the hotel should reconsider.The entertainment improved significantly during our stay. When we first arrived, the outdoor stage area wasn't being used, so the indoor entertainment space felt extremely cramped. Halfway through the week, the outdoor area finally opened and the atmosphere became much more enjoyable. The evening entertainment was a lot of fun after that, our little one loved dancing along, and the park area was fantastic for children.Overall, despite a few frustrations, we had a good family holiday and made some lovely memories.     Hotel Aguamarina, Arenal den Castel. Buzzing atmosphere with all the facilities you could want. The room we had was sea view, amazing. Hotel facilities were excellent, all area's were kept clean noise levels were low except around play area's. My family can thoroughly recommend this hotel.     Great for kids

    Our second visit to this hotel with our granddaughter, it is ideal for children we cannot fault the place, staff were very polite and helpful despite being busy and in some cases overworked, (dinning room staff and the bars etc.) We went all inclusive ideal for kids.We had a sea view room, which was kept very clean by our chambermaid Paqie who was always helpful and friendly, we would have liked tea coffee facilities in our room for a first drink in the morning but it didn't detract from our holiday, food was good and there was plenty of it, the facilities for children were extensive, there is a great safe children friendly beach in a lovely bay right in front of the hotel with stunning sunset views.the only slight downside is that the dinning room doesn't open for dinner until 19.15 which is rather late to keep small children to wait to eat especially for those with early bedtime requirements, for the older children the kids club and evening disco is great.Would we go back yes!
