  We spent 3 days in this hotel which has been quite a discovery. Very good service from the reception to the cafeteria staff and especially highlight the attention given by the breakfast girl who was a charm. We loved the hotel, the very modern room and the very comfortable beds. Nothing bad to say, when I return to Nigran we will definitely repeat. Originally submitted in Spanish on www.tripadvisor.es.   A tale of 2 halves

  I stayed here one night whilst walking the Camino de Santiago.The rooms are compact but well designed with all the necessary features and a modern finish. A bit cramped for a long stay but perfectly adequate for a single person for one night. Reception is professional and my luggage was brought up when it arrived. However the whole set up feels unfinished.There is a terrace for the guests at first floor level, yet this has no chairs, tables or parasols.There is a cafe for guests that is also open to the public. Breakfast and dinner is served here. Decor is fine for breakfast but Spartan for dinner. Menu is a strange mixture of Spanish, pizza and Korean.Service here is lacking. The two staff on duty were very friendly and helpful but appeared to be doing everything; waiting tables, making coffees and also some of the food prep.

  A welcome respite from a long day on the Camino

  This was an excellent stop on our Camino journey. The hotel is new and very clean, the front desk staff helpful and friendly. We liked the fact that there were many restaurants very near -- it was good to not have to walk far for dinner after walking all day! We also loved our tiny balcony looking out on the main street. The best part was our included breakfast in the morning. Other hotels on the Camino give you a croissant or roll and a cup of hot tea or coffee, but this had a much more extensive menu. I had the avocado-salmon-arugula bagel, and it was delicious.

  Clean and Efficient at Great Price

  This hotel is well located for walking to shops or the beach. The rooms are very small, but clean. We reserved an ocean view and got an "ocean is in that direction" view. When I asked about it at the front desk, the clerk shrugged and said "All the rooms on the 3rd floor are full". We were on the 1st Floor. Ocean views are probably possible on the 2nd floor, as well, but not the first. We did have a small patio area where we could sit outside and catch the ocean breezes.Parking is provided in a private and gated lot. Spaces are small and it's a bit tricky to get in and out, but provided and secure. We stayed there for a wedding at the nearby (and fgorgeous) Pazo de Cea. It was a quick taxi ride there and a nice 15-ish minute walk back, so very convenient. Hotel was very basic, but clean and comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel is open for breakfast, at your own cost. Great avocado toast and coffee.

  Although the hotel isn’t quite on the coast, getting to the beach would be 10 minutes driving and we got there, on foot, in 20/25 minutes time. The Val Convention seemed like a brand new hotel, with comfy medium-sized room, fabulously soft mattresses, and good storage space .We loved their cafeteria next door, with coffee made by an award-winning coffee barrister. (Also try the BROWNIES!)The breakfast buffet is simple ; continental with a good coffee machine. Wifi is free and strong. There are a few restaurants in the area plus a pharmacy, drugstore, general store, etc nearby. The town doesn’t have a lot of taxis but the business card of a taxi company to call can be found on the reception table.
