Good hotel and breakfast, but an embarrassingly poor dinner experience

    rating06 May 2026

Good hotel and breakfast, but an embarrassingly poor dinner experienceWe had a mixed stay at Parador de Tui. The hotel itself was pleasant, and the breakfast the next morning was genuinely good – fresh, well prepared, and exactly what you would expect from a Parador.Unfortunately, the dinner in their so‑called restaurant was a completely different story. The staff did not speak a single word of English and showed no willingness to explain the menu or help us understand the options. We were offered the “dish of the day”, only to discover that they had enough for just two people, even though we were four. The food that was available was far below the standard you would expect, especially considering the high prices. Overall, the experience felt careless and unprofessional, and the value for money was simply not there.A good hotel and a good breakfast, but the dinner service was so poor that it overshadowed the positive parts of the stay. Parador de Tui, General Manager at Parador de Tui, responded to this review It is important for us to learn from your experience so we can improve the quality of our services for guests. On behalf of the team at the Parador as well as on my own behalf, I would like to apologise for the problems in Restaurant that you experienced during your stay and we deeply regret the inconvenience that this caused you.The management team have taken note of your comments and, as a result, we are planning to implement new measures that will allow us to offer you a better experience with Paradores. Thank you for choosing us.

    Disappointing breakfast

    rating05 May 2026

Breakfast disappointing. Cooked breakfast cold and had to look for service for a cooked breakfast. Overall expected more from Paradeso but receptionist was very helpful. Short Motorcycle Trip Spain Sept 2025

    rating22 Oct 2025

Beautiful N101 out of Arcos, fantastic scenery and more Nerines.Even ok going across the big bridge, easy to turn into South Tui to find the Parador.First impressions, hmm ok.Covered parking for Moto. As you get older you dislike showers over baths.Nice staff, small ground floor room, tiny bar. The stroll along the river is nice, a bit steep and more than the 15 mins they tell you. Lots of bars closed on a Monday, mind.Got to quite like the area and stayed two days. Usual Camino everywhere. There is a Tabac, two bars and Petrol Station up the main road, five min stroll.Excellent sitting on the Veranda of the Parador. You hear a beautiful Church at 16.00 with lovely bells ringing across the valley/river. Striking 4.Of course it's 17.00 in Spain! Loved it.The last evening I decided to have a soak in the bath, good when riding the Motorbike.Won't do that again. Angle of bath and lack of hand rails meant I fell on my side getting out, bruised ribs minimum. Parador de Tui, General Manager at Parador de Tui, responded to this review Thanks for staying with us. We appreciate your feedback!

    A quiet gem

The Paradir is exceptionally lovely, providing traditional Spanish elegance and gracious hospitality in a gorgeous setting along the Mino River overlooking a beautiful fortified town in Portugal and Tui city center of medieval buildings. The setting and hotel are perfect for anyone seeking tranquility, peace and luxury. Parador de Tui, General Manager at Parador de Tui, responded to this review Thanks for staying with us. could have stayed longer

    rating26 Sept 2025

This is a wonderful hotel, and I wish we could have stayed another night. Our room was very comfortable, particularly because of the beds. Great mattresses and linens. The A/C was strong, and the shower water pressure was wonderful; the wifi in our room was just so-so. But it was a clean and modern room, and that’s not a given on the Camino.Breakfast buffet was included in our rate, and it had lots of healthy & tasty options. Eggs, bacon and some other items were made to order. The hotel is right on the Camino, about 5 minutes walking distance from Tui’s historic district. Parador de Tui, General Manager at Parador de Tui, responded to this review One of the fundamental values of our company is to offer quality, personalised guest services.Receiving positive feedback such as yours gives us great satisfaction and I kindly ask for your permission to share it with all our team.We hope to welcome you back to one of our hotels and restaurants.
