    Action packed long weekend

    rating07 Apr 2026

Good location less than 10 min walk to the park. Reception staff all seemed to be new, perhaps as it was the start of the season. Not enough staff dealing with customers on arrival, and no help given when transporting luggage to sister hotel next door. Room was clean & shower was huge & really powerful. Was impressed with food at breakfast. Although 8am was a bit early for breakfast when the park opens at 10:30 we could eat slowly & enjoyed several courses. There are several pools & plenty of sunbeds on the complex, we didn’t use these as although we had sunny weather is wasn’t warm enough for swimming.Within the parks we found some food & drinks had a discount for hotel guests, but some didn’t. The app wasn’t very clear as to what discount we were entitled to.One improvement for all hotel guests would be priority entry into the park or a couple of fast pass tickets during the stay. Also the walk back from Ferrari Land wasn’t very well signposted or lit. Felt quite venerable walking through a dark car park.Overall I would recommend the hotel to families wanting to be close to the park. Disappointing stay for a family of four

    rating01 Nov 2025

We stayed at the Colorado Creek Hotel for 5 nights as a family of four (two adults and two children). Check-in is at 3:00 p.m., and if you arrive earlier, don’t expect your room to be ready — there is a luggage room available, be prepared for a long wait at reception as the staff are quite slow. The room itself was spacious with two double beds, which was great for a family. However, there was no kettle provided; you can hire one from reception, but you have to leave a deposit. Only two free bottles of water were provided, which felt a bit stingy for a room booked for four people. We also had problems with mosquitoes in the room, and unfortunately everyone got bitten.A big disappointment was that the swimming pools were closed during our stay — this wasn’t mentioned anywhere when we booked, and it was especially frustrating as we were there during half-term. Most of the other guests seemed to be locals. The restaurant food was repetitive and mainly aimed at children (burgers and chips every night). The food was always cold, although there was a microwave available to heat it up yourself.Overall, the spacious room was the only real positive. The slow service, lack of information about the pool closure, mosquito problems, and poor dining experience made this stay quite underwhelming PortAventura World, Owner at Hotel Colorado Creek en PortAventura, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are glad to hear that you found your room spacious and suitable for your family. However, we sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay, including the wait at check-in, the limited in-room amenities, , the closure of the swimming pools, and the dining experience. We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially during a busy holiday period. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with the relevant teams to help us improve communication, guest services, and overall comfort. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us enhance the experience for all our visitors. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your family back in the future for a more enjoyable stay.

Handy theme park family hotel but low on staff

    rating29 Oct 2025

Positives first… So handy to be a quick transfer away from Reus airport. Also great location with only a 5/10min walk into the park entrance. Great family room and bathroom- always clean during our four night stay. Really like the western theme and decor of the hotel- it has so much potential! And maybe during high season we would have experienced that more. Unfortunately the hotel seemed very low on staff. Long queues in reception and food often not warm at the restaurant. We were all inclusive. Head for the restaurant early to avoid queues morning & evening. Avoid the Steakhouse restaurant in the park for lunch - not hotel’s fault obviously. No lunch option at hotel was a pity. Best lunch option in park = La Cantina. Lots of positives and a few negatives - think it may be a different experience in the summer time! PortAventura World, Owner at Hotel Colorado Creek en PortAventura, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our convenient location, the themed décor, and the cleanliness of your family room and bathroom. We also appreciate your comments regarding the service at reception and the restaurant. Your observations have been shared with the relevant teams to help us improve the guest experience, particularly during busier periods. We hope to welcome you back in the future so you can enjoy an even better experience, especially during the summer season.

    Nicish hotel but horrible WiFi

    rating05 Aug 2025

Check-in was polite and well done. Room cards did not work. Had to rush back to the reception. It took 15 minutes to get it sorted while everyone waited outside the room.Water pressure in the shower is poor. Water leaks out of the shower area. The worst is the Wi-Fi the room - absolutely horrendous. Even mobile reception is very poor. I suspect it's because there aren't enough receivers or boosters installed in the property. PortAventura World, Dueño at Hotel Colorado Creek en PortAventura, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear that your check-in experience was polite and well managed. However, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the room card issue, the water pressure, and the Wi-Fi connection during your stay.Your comments regarding these aspects have been shared with our technical and operational teams so we can review and address them to improve the comfort of our guests. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with a much better experience.

    Good access to Portaventura

    rating01 Aug 2025

We have previously stayed at Mansion de Lucy, which is great. This year we stayed at Colorado Creek. It's in the Far West area, area up the hill pass Lucy de Mansion. It has direct access to Portaventura theme park. There are no supermarkets nearby and we did have to buy water from the small shop in the River Gold hotel, which is expensive. The transfer is approximate 20 minutes from Reus airport. We arrived in the morning, checked in and were given our room/theme park cards. As we were trying to open the door to the hotel a member of staff pushed passed my daughter. We we were struggling to get through the doors with our suitcases. I told him he was rude. The woman who checked us in gave very us little information and I had to ask a lot of questions eg, where is the store for the cases. When we went to leave our cases the member of staff walked away. Some of the staff in the hotel are friendly some are not.The hotel looks nice and is clean. There are toilets by the suitcase store area. There is a snack bar serving pizza and other snacks. When we went there there was only one member of staff to serve and to cook the food. The queue was long.We booked a superior room. They do not offer express passes any more. I'm not sure what is the difference between the deluxe and superior rooms. We were given two bottles of water. No robes as stated on the website. The room was in the main hotel. The rooms are a good size and the air con works well. The wardrobe area is a good size however you only get 5 coat hangers. There is a safe and a small fridge. The are two usb sockets and normal sockets by the beds. The wifi works well. There is shampoo, shower gel and hand wash. You are given two tiny toilets rolls and there are two hand towels. We were only given two small bath towels. I had to ask twice for more. The room is very clean however the shower trim and shower head on the hand held shower was dirty. The grout on the tiles was dirty in places too.We were out most mornings, resting in the afternoons, then back out again. We only had house keeping twice. I went out and took what we needed from the trolleys in the corridors eg, toilet paper, towels.Generally, the hotel is quiet at nights. I don't understand why parents allow their children to run up and down the corridors when it is late. The restaurant is in a separate building around the back. Some of the staff are lovely while some look miserable. We ate breakfast and dinner here. There is a good choice of foods and they cater for dietary needs. For breakfast there is sliced bread to toast, fresh baguettes, choice of fruit and cereal, bacon, hash browns and small pancakes. Water, tea, coffee and juices. Butter and jams. The fruit is lovely. At night there was normally ham or margherita pizza, pasta, sushi different meats, chips, chicken balls, a choice of vegetables and fruit. Lots of puddings. It was nice and we were never hungry. You pay for any drinks you want. There is water on the table. The restaurant wasn't too busy. You have to book breakfast but not dinner. I booked for both. We were half board so didnt use the dine around option. We ate our lunch park most days in the park or at the River Bar in the area we were staying. This has more choice than last year. You can sit in or take out. The food and staff we lovely. The pool is to the side. In the park we loved Jeremias', Far West. They have a choice of pizza and pasta. They do chips and have a choice of fruits and puddings. The staff are very friendly. We love this park. The rides are great and there is a good choice of food and places, and shows to relax. The main reason we stay onsite is the easy access to the park, through to the Wild West. You get unlimited entry to the park and one day in Ferrariland. We did get ride access for my daughter. All we needed was her diagnosis letter, for autism. They didn't seem bothered about her other physical needs. We had to show her passport as well. You get a band each however the barcode washed off and the band broke a few times. We had to go back to guest services inside the park near the entrance to get a new one. When the whole band had came off we had to show her letter and passport again. I think they need a plastic band that doesn't wash off or break. Some of the staff in the park are lovely and some are quite rude and roll their eyes. However, we love going to the park and enjoyed Ferrariland this year. We didn't explore it much last time. It's not a huge park but is worth the visit. We didn't to the waterparks this year as my daughter has sore skin. On the way home the coach transfer didn't pick us up until 5.30pm. He had to pick up from 3 other hotels and at one hotel he waited 10 minutes and the people didn't turn up. By the time we got there and got through to the departure part. I was hungry and needed to eat. The queue for the hot food was huge with only two staff making and serving food. Then Jet 2 announced they were boarding early. So we had to eat very quickly. Next time I'll get a taxi to go there earlier.I am a type 1 diabetic with the omnipod 5 and dexcom g6. The staff at Newcastle and Reus airports were great. I used the special line to get through security slightly quicker at Reus as I needed to eat. Jet 2 allow a free medical bag.We did used taxis to go to the sea front. There is a taxi rank near the Rock and Grill bar, look for the Woody Wood Pecker statue. There are toilets nearby. There is plenty of toilets, lots of shops including Druni which sells cheaper perfume and make-up and lots of restaurants. The beach looks lovely and there are some small play parks. We will try the bus next time. I was told they are easy to use and cheap. We also took a taxi to the shopping centre, Centre Commercial Parc. A 15 minute drive approximately. There are plenty of shops like Bershka, Druni and Primark. There is a supermarket, where we bought bottled water. The taxis charge different rates. We probably would stay here again as there is easy access to the park, you get free passes to the park and the food options are good. Use the app to check opening/closing times of the park, rides and places to eat. Love Salou and we will be back to explore the area more. PortAventura World, Dueño at Hotel Colorado Creek en PortAventura, responded to this review Thank you very much for sharing such a detailed and helpful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the convenient access to the park, the variety of nearby shops and restaurants, and the many practical amenities available in the area.
