    Nice but dated

    rating10 May 2025

The hotel I speculate was built for the 2016 Olympic Games. It was clean and the staff were friendly. The location is kind of in a rough area despite being a high rated hotel. The restaurant has delicious breakfast and dinner! If you’re looking for a nice spot in Rio, I highly recommend.

Good hotel just not for anyone looking to explore Rio

    rating09 Apr 2025

Good hotel but location is in the middle of no where. There are no stores, food places or walkable areas around here. There are a few very close stadiums and some places you can easily Uber to but there is nothing around if you just want something outside of the hotel. The Ubers also seem to have a hard time driving to this place because the turn is a bit awkward but eventually make it (or maybe it is just some Uber drivers that are not familiar with the area). Side note i had an uber driver that was literally around the corner, missed the turn and literally missed the turn multiple times, and 15 minutes later finally made it to the hotel. The hotel is acceptable for a Courtyard with nice lobby, good breakfast. The room was good just not a great working desk if you need to do work. I had a small glass table in my room which my mouse didn't work. I had to get a sheet of paper to make sure my mouse worked. It had all the standard stuff a safe, closet, and fridge. The staff was friendly and welcoming being a Platinum member. Not a great place to stay if you are a tourist trying to see the sites as the sites are all on the other side by Copacabana. For an American the Ubers here are fairly cheap compared to New York but the traffic is also fairly bad in the morning or anytime. Its good to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area but this is really far off of anything unfortunately and most of what I love to do most is wander but also visited a client which was a bit farther than Copacabana and also was a good hour drive in the morning or more. So you kind of waste at least 2 hours plus of your day just sitting in traffic. I typically want to at least be able to change and shower but it was difficult to go back and forth especially if you want to do something later that evening. Trying to plan for things at night was a bit difficult if you also wanted to stay in the area that is either night life or has more of the city vibe or go to another restaurant so you kind of have to plan our your day. I am giving it 4 stars because I didn't have a horrible experience just the location was not ideal and the area is not very walk friendly. Walking around Copacabana/Ipanema there are definitely a lot more stores and local eateries just a hop skip away. Maybe there is more to explore in Barra da Tijuca but when looking for dinner spots I didn't see a ton of good options but maybe it was my searching or preference of food.

    Good Option for a Conference/Riocentro

    rating05 Oct 2024

Very nice hotel close to Riocentro. I stayed there while attending a conference, and found the staff to be friendly, the room spacious, and the hotel to be nicely appointed. I spent some downtime relaxing at the outdoor pool, which was nice and quiet, and I would also highlight the breakfast buffet which was really outstanding. The only negative I have to say is not about the hotel but the location - there is not a lot going on in the area immediately around the hotel, so beaches and a lot of great restaurants are a 15-60 minute Uber ride away, depending on where you want to go in Rio. Relative to the US, an Uber is quite inexpensive, but there is still the time element.

    Great stay, Great staff

    rating15 Feb 2024

All around Great Experience…The staff from the front desk to restaurant and bar…. were welcoming, helpful and friendly ( even those with little English)….especially Tope, Myra , Alan and Julia at the front desk and Julius at the bar, Carlos, Geovan, and I think her name was Alaletia….gave me safety tips. They really took care of me. So when I had to extend my stay in Brazil due to a missed flight, I returned to the hotel for another nights stay….Rooms were clean, buffet breakfast had a wide variety and very good . I would definitely stay again…

Good hotel, close to Rio Arena and Rio Centro.

    rating14 Feb 2024

Very good hotel with nice, large and clean room. Great breakfast and restaurant too. Staff was friendly and helpful, so staying in the hotel was pleasure for me. The only bad thing is location. It is just too far from everything. The great Barra beach is around 15-20mins uber driver, but on the way back it could take up to 1 hour, if you leave on late afternoon, when traffic gets insane. Area around the hotel is good. There are some supermarkets, 5-10mins walk on the way to Rio arena. Metropolitan Mall around 45mins walk or short uber driver. I felt very nice and safe walking to the Mall twice. If you like walking, the main beach street is great place to do that in Barra, but you need uber or taxi to get there. On the other side of the hotel is the way to Rio Centro, around 2km. All in all, very good hotel, but a little far away from everything.
