    Great tram access and friendly attached restaurant

    Reception staff came quickly and was friendly and helpful.Tight car parking, but very close.Nice restaurant attached with live music and chef who showed us proper way to eat some Ukranian dishes.Greet street car access to various sites.Our std double room had a small, but very workable bathroom. Our window opened into a building filled court yard.

    This is the 2nd time I stay here for my business trip and as always the room is clean (cleaner than in a 4stars hotel).The 1st time my room had street view. As a person which is very sensible with external noises; I asked, this time, for an upgrade to have a “garden” view which cost me only CHF 10.- more per night.Breakfast is okay. I don’t eat much at breakfast so no big expectation from my side.For the check-in; if you’re nice with the staff they are also nice with you.I will definitely recommend this hotel which is about 2mn by walk to the congress center and 20mm to the city center.

    The most unfriendly hotel 'welcome' I've ever experienced

    Arrived to be greeted by a receptionist unfriendly to the point of rudeness. My wife and I were given a small 'L' shaped room (506) with twin beds that were around the corner from each other. No fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, or any other amenities. We were at the rear of the hotel, so at least it was quiet. The highlight was the shower, which was very good. Standard hotel breakfast.

    Checking in at 10.30pm and there is nobody and the door is locked (while the reception is said to be open until 11.00pm). After several calls on the intercom and on the phone, arrives a sleepy grumpy man who unenthusiastically finally lets me check in. But this was just the best part of my stay here... then comes the room - a tiny space without any aircon or ventilation whatsoever but with a fridge from 1980s that produces enormous amount of heat, so that if the windows are kept closed it is impossible to breath. Open the windows and here it is all the traffic noise from one of the central streets, although even with the windows open there is barely any fresh air coming in, for - bingo! - there is no ventilation. Thanks for a sleepless night Hotel Alexander! Next time I will rather take a tent or will just sleep on a bench somewhere by the river.

    Extremely friendly, available and helpful staff. Very good food served directly in the room, very short waiting time. Good organization.Easy check in and check out The room was very quiet and clean The service also on Sunday was guaranteed
