Location

The hotel is located in the Old Town, with all sights and museums within walking distance or easy to reach by public transport. The Natural History Museum of Basel is 550 m from the hotel and the Barfüsserplatz is 350 m away. The art museum can be reached on foot in 10 minutes.

The complex has 33 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The complex offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available.     Do not miss the opportunity to stay here!

    This place is an absolute gem! Situated on the edge of the old town of Basel, the location is prime for sightseeing but off the beaten path enough to be quiet. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel itself is intriguing. In the space of three adjacent buildings, the place is a combination hotel, art gallery, theater, Michelin rated restaurant, wine cellar, and archaeological dig, and yet it is small, welcoming and quaint. The service was excellent, and the hotel provides a pass for free rides on all public transit and reduced entrance fees to the many museums and attractions in Basel. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to several friends who are scheduled on the Viking cruise between Amsterdam and Basel.     Breakfast is at another building.Parking is 5-7 mins walk and park places are small. They don't park the car at the hotel.Somehow it was not communicated in advance so was huge disappointment.Rooms are not noise protected.Breakfast was great, however no fish and in general lack of variety, however the food was great.The lady on reception was providing excuse that they are boutique and design hotel and guests are satisfied.     Superb experience. Warm welcome and excellent hospitality. The staff were attentive and helpful. The room very comfortable, beautifully designed with adequate space for work. Central location with easy access to the airport. I work in Basel 3-4 times a year and will be returning Der Teufelhof on a regular basis. Loved the combination of art and theatre too.     Honest Hotel, Excellent Accomodations

    This hotel is beyond excellent. I, a weary traveler, left my jewelry roll in the safe in my room after checking out and you would not believe it but the staff found it and held it safe for me. That kind of service is beyond and something you'd never get in the US. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The location was excellent for walking and wandering. I will return. The breakfast was delicious, too. And a great gift shop!     Wonderful hotel in Basel

    We loved our stay at this hotel. We were in the modern Set Hotel across the street. The room was large, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. I liked the large shower and the separate toilet. The room included lots of shelves for storage and was very quiet. We loved the location in Old Town. It was so easy to walk many places, and there was a tram stop right out front. We took advantage of the Basel Card to ride the trams and buses for free and to get 50% off admission to the excellent Kuntsmuseum and the amazing Tinguely Museum. We also loved the Basel Christmas Markets. We had an enjoyable dinner one night at the Atelier Restaurant, and another good dinner at the bar when when we wanted a lighter meal. We were also able to pick up fresh sandwiches, pastries, and drinks at the Confiserie Beschle for our train ride to Paris. Breakfast at the hotel was adequate, but pricey for the limited variety of food available. We did get eggs cooked to order, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend this hotel to others traveling to Basel.
