    Amazing overnight stay

    We came here spontaneously late at night because we are on a road trip and were too tired to drive. Juan at the reception was extremely friendly and forthcoming. He helped us with a couple questions we had and gave us a very nice and clean room for the night. Would definitely stay again for our next trip in Lugano, just because of Juan's excellent hospitality :)

    All the Staff really really nice, breakfast perfect, restaurant good, room great. The pool is perfect to relax after long business day; I can see “area of improvement” on the Gym: very basic and it would be easy to make it better. I really enjoyed my 1 week stay (business), I felt at home.

    WHEN TWO HOTEL EMPLOYEES RUINED ALL THE GOOD EXPERIENCES ABOUT HOTEL

    On June 10, our vacation in Lugano ended!!! this time we rented an apartment in the Paradiso area. We came from old memory for breakfast at the Admiral Hotel) Since previously we very often stayed in this hotel. Also during this visit, we were several once we had dinner in a restaurant and bought wine to take with us. But the most interesting and unpleasant thing awaited me later (When we left the apartment and waited on the terrace of the Admiral hotel for some time with luggage, a taxi to the airport. Two hotel employees, seeing that I was leaving from the toilet, they asked me to immediately leave the hotel area. They looked at me like the police and this is very ugly and disrespectful to the former client and just to the person.     After reading the reviews, I hesitated before booking this hotel. I am so glad I went ahead and booked it as it is a good 4 star hotel.The hotel was well located being just a short walk from the lake and just up the road from the bus stop.Our room was of a reasonable size and had a luggage rack that took 2 large suitcases which we really appreciated. The room had all the things that you associate with a four star hotel, including mini bar, coffee machine etc. There was no kettle in the room but they quickly brought one up to the room when I requested it.The whole hotel, including our room was clean.Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The female who checked us in gave us very clear information about bus timetables etc.We had booked parking in their underground parking garage and were given a reasonably sized car park.Breakfast had a wide variety of food available. I would particularly like to mention Antonio. He was working in the restaurant the 3 mornings we were there and was polite and extremely efficient. He was very good at seeing what needed to be done and doing it. He really is a great asset to the hotel.We will not hesitate to stay at this hotel again if we are fortunate enough to come back to Lugano.

    Horrible hotel & customer service - Never ever stay!

    1. Upon arrival we requested for a spacious room at the time of check-in as we had 2 big bags. To our shock, we were given the most uncomfortable & odd room. When we complained at the reception - we were told by the staff that you have got the room (215 sq.ft) what you have paid for! Absolutely rude..! Yet we smiled & requested the staff if it could be changed… as we did not have any problem with the size of the room (215 sq.ft) but instead the layout of the room - it had a table right at the center of the room in a half moon 🌙 shape - which was a big obstruction while walking, exiting the room & we kept hitting at it. 2. We had also requested for an extra ____ so that we could keep our Luggage on it without spoiling their chair 🪑 or their wall. However, yet again the response from the staff was that “we do not have an extra “3. Being a 4 star hotel; they did not have any Weighing / Luggage Scale 4. 4 star hotel with absolutely poor service 5. We had requested for the Trolley (kept outside the hotel) for Luggage transfer to the bus station - which is at 2 min distance from the hotel but because of the stone road it is difficult to even pull the bags - hence we had requested for their trolley. At first, the staff readily agreed but when we brought our bags down at the reception - he immediately lied to us stating that the trolley has been taken by another guest to shift their luggage (in a span of 2 minutes)- We waited at the reception for 10 minutes & when we asked again for the trolley; the other reception staff informed us that he cannot give us the trolley to shift our luggage as it’s now allowed. Why wasn’t this informed to us earlier?? We missed our bus because of his unprofessional behavior & dishonesty. This was a clear act of racism & unprofessionalism on his part. We stayed for 2 nts from 26-28th August 2022. Our check-out time was 10:45am. Management should particularly take a note of such unprofessionalism & ruthless attitude of staff which only puts off such customers. I, for sure will never choose Hotel Admiral again for my trip to Lugano & neither will I recommend it to anyone. The hotel offer a large variety of room types and we suggest our guests to book double rooms with balcony or triple rooms if they wish to have the maximum comfort with additional space.We apologize for the misunderstanding with the hotel luggage trolley, this is a tool normally used inside the hotel, it cannot be used outside and it is not made for surfaces that are not smooth as a city street.We are also deeply sorry that you used the word racism. We absolutely distance ourselves from these accusations which we do not consider right and even less true.
