Service with a smile + stunning location

    rating08 Jan 2026

This is our 2nd time staying at the Grafton Beach Resort and we have also stayed in their sister hotel next door twice. The location of the hotel is second to none, with a beautiful unspoilt beach just a moments walk away, love that there are no sunbeds or parasols and the nature is all around. We could see and hear the crashing waves from our room's balcony all day/night long which was wonderful. I would say that the hotel was in need of a little refurbishment, but they were attending to this in the dining area during our stay and maintenance were around most days. Things take time and without the volume of guests it's hard to spend money that has not been made I imagine. The customer service was exceptional and has always been so, we were celebrating a very special anniversary and the hotel staff allocated us a room with a fantastic view. The reception and night maintenance employees were only too happy to help with any little request and the wait/bar staff were amazing. One of the things I loved was that we were probably only two of six people staying in the hotel most of the week. (Sorry Grafton, I know you need more guests but on such a special occasion it was wonderful having the hotel to ourselves). I loved the fact that the pool had no-one in it except me for the majority of the day and that we had such personal service from the cocktail waiter at the bar. Felt very VIP having the place to ourselves and the breakfast food (must go Tobagonian breakfast all the way every day!), was fantastic. Large portions, cooked fresh and service with a smile. If you are looking for an upscale hotel with lots of people crowding the pool and restaurants or beach, then I guess Black Rock isn't for you. We are already planning our return and whilst the hotel may perhaps still need a little maintenance on our return, we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Thank you Team Grafton for the most amazing stay and here's to a prosperous 2026 for you this year.

Avoid at all costs. Dreadful hotel

    rating15 Nov 2025

Firstly, the picture on here is absolutely not representative of the pool area. It had 4 white cheap plastic chairs and no umbrellas. The rooms were dreadful with moldy bathrooms and broken fixtures and fittings. We stayed 3 days until we managed to move to another hotel. Definitely not 3*, I would struggle to give it 1*... save your money and go elsewhere!!! We were literally the only people in the hotel and had to go the next door hotel to even get breakfast, which again was dire. Same owner owns both hotels.

    Good location & peaceful

    rating29 Sept 2025

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of September. The hotel was exceptionally quiet with few guests. Staff were friendly and checkin was smooth. Breakfast was off the menu and freshly prepared to order. Our room had an ocean view with balcony. The view was amazing with beautiful sunsets in the evening. Room and bathroom spacious, a little dated but were spotless. Swimming pool was clean, which we had to ourselves! the swim-up bar was not open. Location of the hotel is superb, across the road from the beach. Watch the fishermen bringing their nets in in the mornings. Lovely restaurant called waves on the beach front. Great for watching the sunset.Follow the road down, 15 minutes walk, and this will bring you to the small town (Pleasant Prospect) with a small supermarket, a number of restaurants and bars. There is also an ATM next door to the pizza take away. Recommend visiting on Saturday night for the bonfire in the square, great atmosphere! We hired a car for two days from the car rental place in the town. Good and efficient service. (Can’t remember the name but is up the street behind the bar called Moon Over Water). Overall, would recommend the hotel for the peace ( in September), cleanliness and location by the beach.

I could live here in my retirement!

    rating26 Sept 2025

This hotel is in the ideal location to reconnect with nature while facilitating unobstructed relaxation. Unquestionable value for money, amenities readily available but the beautiful ocean across the street was perfection enough. Rooms are cozy & well kept. We visited in an unexpectedly quiet period so it felt peaceful & serene. Staff was always available and accommodating, especially Ashmeed, the Food & Bev Manager. Daily bfast was delicious & filling.

A Rocky Start Turned into a Relaxing Stay – Thanks to Chrissy!

    rating10 Jul 2025

My stay began on a disappointing note at the sister property, Le Grand Courlan, where both the initial room and breakfast left much to be desired. Thankfully, Chrissy at the front desk truly saved the day. After hearing my concerns, she quickly arranged for me to be moved to Grafton Beach Resort — and what a difference that made! The room at Grafton was significantly better, with a beautiful ocean view that provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful and much-needed reset. At Grafton, I was greeted with a clean, comfortable room and a wonderful ocean view, exactly what I needed to relax and recharge. Although I skipped breakfast due to the earlier experience, I’ve stayed here before and can say the buffet breakfast is usually quite enjoyable.A special mention must go to the bartender, a young man, whose mixology skills and customer service were truly impressive. He went above and beyond to ensure we were pleased with our drinks, and his attention to detail did not go unnoticed. While the overall stay was pleasant, I would recommend that management consider updating the rooms, especially the TVs. Installing smart TVs would be a great improvement given the limited channel selection.Overall, Chrissy’s professionalism turned things around for me, and I appreciated her hospitality.
