    Do not read bad reviews

    rating06 Jun 2026

Don't read bad reviews. I was worried about them but I had an amazing time as an English person. Animation team were amazing and so were.the bartenders. Only criticism is the food was the same most of the time but get what you pay for. I would come back again. Most guests are French but there are other English people and animation team.do translate in English Skander Missaoui, Autre at Djerba Aqua Resort, responded to this review Dear Matheus,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. What stands out most in your review is that, despite having read some negative comments before your arrival, you chose to form your own opinion and ultimately enjoyed a wonderful holiday with us. We believe this is an important reminder that every guest experience is unique and that online reviews should always be viewed as part of a broader picture. We are delighted to know that our animation team and bartenders contributed positively to your stay. Your appreciation of their efforts, particularly their willingness to communicate and translate in English for our international guests, means a great deal to us.We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the food selection. While our chefs strive to offer a varied buffet every day, your remarks help us identify opportunities for further improvement. It is especially rewarding to hear that, as an English guest in a hotel welcoming many French-speaking visitors, you felt comfortable, included, and well looked after throughout your stay. Creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests of all nationalities is one of our priorities.Thank you once again for highlighting that your experience differed from some of the negative reviews you had seen beforehand. We are pleased that Djerba Resort exceeded your expectations, and we would be delighted to welcome you back for another enjoyable stay on our beautiful island of Djerba.Warm regards,Skander MissaouiManager

Improvements required but a good location for a short stay!

    rating28 May 2026

We have just returned from Aqua resort after a short 4-day stay. There are a few improvements needed but you get what you pay for and I always leave honest reviews. The hotel itself is situated in a good location with plenty of shops around on the main road (use these shops instead of the hotel ones as they are a lot cheaper and only a 5 minutes walk), taxi’s directly outside. The restaurant, it’s the same food repeated every day, chicken (not cooked so be very careful), paella, beef stew, rice and undercooked pizza to name it. Most days there wasn’t even chips for those that are fussy and when there was, they were flat cold. It’s ridiculously hard to find a clean table, it’s like the place doesn’t get cleaned at all. One night we saw someone drop a glass and the remains of this was there 2 days later. Snacks are only available between 4:30-5:30pm which is really poor if you have kids and there didn’t seem to be much choice!Main pool area is great, sun beds available in good areas until around 8:15am. Some improvements need making, 3/4 of the umbrellas are broken, most of the sun beds are really poor but you can take a mattress topper which does make them more comfortable. The pool is a great size with plenty of room, the Aqua park is currently closed as well as the slides at the front of the hotel. There is another sea water pool which seemed to be open, we walked down each day and there was literally no one in or around this pool.Rooms are very basic and in need of modernising. To be fair to the hotel, there were some rooms which looked to be having work done and they looked great from what we could see walking by. We left a ‘do not disturb’ sign on our room door, the cleaner went into our room, removed some money, took our towels and toilet roll and were without these for 48 hours (requested at reception 3 times). Entertainment team worked their socks off during the day with plenty going on around the main pool area. Reception staff and waiters were helpful enough during our stay and I wouldn’t agree with some reviews I’ve seen saying they only speak in French or to French guests as this wasn’t the case with us and most of them could speak English really well. However, trying to get served at the pool bar can take a while, we were stood there by ourselves for a good 5 minutes one day with the barman not interested in serving us.Plenty of activities if you like sport, there are tennis courts, football, table tennis, darts & a padel court at the entrance to the adjoining hotel. You can go to the adjoining hotel and use the swimming pool (in an outdoor) & bar but not the restaurant. All of the above is an honest assessment from the last week, good location, short transfer, needs updating and a few changes but you get what you pay for and it will do a job for a few nights if that’s what you want. Is it somewhere you’d go as a family for a “proper all inclusive” I’d suggest not but each to their own. Skander Missaoui, Autre at Djerba Aqua Resort, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you once again for sharing your feedback following your recent stay at Aqua Resort. We truly appreciate every comment, as it allows all our teams to continuously improve and refine the experience we offer. We are pleased that you enjoyed our location, pool area, and the energy of our animation team, as well as the helpfulness of our reception staff. Your positive notes are very encouraging and will be shared with the teams concerned. We would also like to bring an important clarification regarding our rooms: the renovation program has now been completed, and our rooms are fully refurbished. This is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing comfort and meeting our guests’ expectations. We understand that perceptions can vary, but we are confident that these improvements contribute positively to the overall stay experience.Regarding the restaurant, while you mentioned repetition and quality concerns, it is important to note that many of our guests appreciate the variety and international selection offered at the buffet. Nevertheless, we fully acknowledge that there is always room to improve, and our culinary team continues to work daily on diversifying options and maintaining consistent quality.Your remarks concerning cleanliness and service have been taken into consideration and shared with the relevant departments. These are key priorities for us, and continuous monitoring and staff training are in place to ensure standards are respected.Concerning your comment about the room service experience, please be assured that this situation does not reflect our usual procedures. We take such matters very seriously and remain available on-site to address any concern immediately.Overall, while we understand that certain aspects of your stay did not fully meet your expectations, many of our guests do enjoy a pleasant and comfortable stay with us, especially for short getaways. That said, your feedback remains valuable and contributes directly to the ongoing efforts of all our teams. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future to offer you an experience that fully reflects the improvements made.Kind regards,Skander MissaouiDirecteur

This is not a 4 Star hotel. Don’t be fooled

    rating26 May 2026

So where do I start. Don’t come here if you’re not French or the staff won’t give you the time of day. When we arrived we got to reception and there was one staff member on duty checking in around 5 families including myself. The process took a good 30 to 40 minutes just to check in. Got to the bedroom and there were mosquitoes all over the ceiling. I used a plug in, a wrist band and repellent spray but still got ravished over the course of 7 days. The hotel takes no measures to control the mosquitos. The rooms are very dated and falling apart, the beds are like sleeping on a sheet of plywood, and there is a sewage smell in the middle of the night that will wake you up it’s that bad. The food is hit and miss. The pancakes are lovely, the pizza is some of the best I’ve ever had but some days there is not much choice all. If you get chicken you need to be careful. I was served some Lemon chicken on my last day by the chef that was basically raw. I’ll try and upload a photo. If ate it, it would have made me seriously sick. I didn’t report it because what is the point, seriously. The drinks are inconsistent. If you get a particular cocktail each bartender will make them totally different. The entertainment is all in French. If you don’t understand French then it’s just a headache. They play the same music at the disco at night time. It’s very repetitive! Every English person I spoke to felt the same about the hotel and said they would never return so this isn’t me being fussy. Don’t book activities through the reps as you’ll pay double, if not triple the cost. I booked to go to the crocodile park and it cost me around £50 for me and 1 child (the cost was worked out in euros). A woman told me after I’d payed that she booked the tickets directly and it was 20 Euros for 1 adult and one child and a return journey taxi cost around 5 euros. Don’t waste your time doing the horse and camel excursion. You go on a walk down some 3rd world looking alleys, then on to the beach and then the guide drops you there and makes you walk back to your hotel from the beach. If you change pounds to Dinars then be mindful that they will be awkward changing it back. I tried to change 80 dinar back to pounds before I left and was told to go back in 1 hour. I returned in 1 hour to be told by a different member of staff that you can only change money back at the airport. The original member of staff then intervened and wrote me an invoice to prove I’d change them dinars at that hotel. The only issue was the name on the invoice was Chris something. My name isn’t Chris so the airport wouldn’t change it. I just had to spend the money on the airport as it is a closed currency and can’t be taken out of the country. Now a big one for myself is I came here intending to use the aqua park. The aqua park isn’t open until June time, but not all websites mention this so be mindful. The swimming pool is big but it’s absolutely Baltic. My verdict is avoid the hotel and avoid the country in general. Just pay a bit more and go to Turkey instead. I gave it 2 stars because there were some food items what were nice. But that’s it. Skander Missaoui, Autre at Djerba Aqua Resort, responded to this review Dear Reuben,We have carefully read your review and are sincerely sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to respectfully clarify several important points in order to provide a fair and objective response.First of all regarding check-in and reception, our front desk team operates continuously to welcome guests, especially during peak arrival periods when several families may arrive at the same time. In such cases, short waiting times can occasionally occur, but our priority remains to ensure a professional, secure, and personalised check-in process for every guest.Regarding the comment about nationality treatment, we strongly reject this perception. Our hotel welcomes guests from a wide range of countries every day. Our staff are trained to provide respectful, equal and professional service to all guests without any distinction, and they continuously strive to communicate and adapt to all nationalities.Concerning mosquitoes, preventive and corrective treatments are carried out regularly throughout the year by specialised companies, in accordance with local environmental standards. However, as in many Mediterranean destinations, mosquito presence can vary depending on seasonal weather conditions.Regarding rooms, we continuously implement maintenance and refurbishment programmes to improve comfort and facilities. Whenever an issue is reported on site, our technical team intervenes promptly to resolve it.On the food and beverage side, our kitchen teams operate under strict hygiene and HACCP standards. Meals are prepared fresh daily with a wide variety to suit different tastes. Any isolated incident is taken extremely seriously and handled immediately according to internal quality procedures. With regard to drinks and cocktails, slight variations may occur depending on the bartender, which is common in hotels offering freshly prepared beverages. However, standard recipes are in place to ensure consistency.Regarding entertainment, our programme is designed for an international audience. Activities are adapted to different guest profiles, and our animation team makes continuous efforts to offer inclusive and multilingual entertainment so that everyone can enjoy it.Excursions are provided by independent third-party operators. Prices may vary depending on the inclusions and service level. We always advise guests to check details carefully in order to choose the option that best suits their expectations.Regarding currency exchange, Tunisia operates under a regulated non-exportable currency system. Certain formalities and receipts are required in accordance with national financial regulations. As for the aqua park, its opening is seasonal and subject to technical and safety requirements. This information is communicated in advance to allow guests to plan accordingly. Finally, while we fully respect your personal opinion, we would like to emphasise that such assessments remain subjective. Our establishment welcomes thousands of satisfied guests every year who appreciate the service, facilities, and the unique atmosphere of the destination, widely recognised for its hospitality and cultural richness. We regret that your experience did not reflect the standards we aim to provide, and we remain committed to continuous improvement based on constructive feedback.Kind regards,Skander MissaouiManager

Never have experience in an all inclusive resort like the standard of this resort.

    rating24 May 2026

Disappointing Stay – Poor Service and Misleading DiningWe were told that guests must collect bottled water from the restaurant for personal use, as the fridge in the room is empty. On the morning of our excursion, the restaurant refused to provide water due to their policy of not serving it in the mornings, which was very inconvenient. The room also had no phone, meaning any service requests required physically going to the front desk. The “à la carte” restaurant was misleading. Guests are allowed only once per week, but it is actually a set dinner: starters and desserts are taken from the buffet, and the main course was very ordinary. The restaurant itself was dark, full of mosquitoes, and unpleasant. We left halfway through and returned to the buffet, and we weren’t the only ones.Service in the main restaurant was unprofessional. Staff would pour drinks at your table, but then take the glass away to serve other guests, while leaving the bottles on your table. This practice felt careless and inappropriate.Overall, the hotel failed to provide basic comfort and service. Between the lack of amenities, poor dining experience, and untrained staff, we cannot understand how this property has earned its rating. Skander Missaoui, Autre at Djerba Aqua Resort, responded to this review Dear Ivan,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, although we sincerely regret that your stay did not meet your expectations. However, after carefully reading your review, it appears that certain aspects may have been misunderstood or do not fully reflect the information clearly communicated to our partners and guests prior to arrival.Regarding water and beverages, our policy is part of our all-inclusive concept, with defined distribution points and service hours. This information is always shared in advance to ensure a consistent and organized service for all our guests.Concerning the “à la carte” restaurant, we would like to clarify an important point. This is not a buffet-based concept, but rather a themed menu experience with different menus offered throughout the week, allowing guests the freedom to choose. All dishes are served at the table, and desserts are specific to this restaurant and are never taken from the buffet, contrary to what you mentioned. As for the restaurant service, we take your comments seriously. While, like in any human activity, occasional mistakes can happen, they certainly cannot occur to the extent described. It is strictly against our standards and hygiene regulations to reuse a glass to serve another guest. Our hotel is committed to maintaining high levels of professionalism, respect, and hygiene at all times. Finally, you expressed surprise regarding our rating. It reflects the continuous efforts of our teams to provide quality service and a pleasant experience to the vast majority of our guests, many of whom regularly express their satisfaction. We regret that your perception does not reflect this reality and wish you all the best.Kind regards,Skander MissaouiManager
