    Best hotel in Djerba!

    rating16 Mar 2026

This is a small beachfront hotel, recommended to us by our friend who lives on Djerba (Yvette at Tunisian Journeys) and it didn't disappoint. every room opens onto a balcony overlooking the pool, garden and beach. There's a restaurant and a bar with TV downstairs and lots of locals come.

The Best Place to Stay in Djerba

    rating15 Sept 2023

The Villa Azur on Djerba is without doubt the best place to stay on Djerba. The hotel is well located near Houmt Souk. It is directly on the beach with good swimming. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel had a really good restaurant for meals in an outdoor setting by the beach. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Because it is a small hotel, it is not the destination for package tourist in groups, but usually individual clients. All rooms actually face the beach and have good balconies.

    Small beach hotel

    rating17 Apr 2018

We arrived at Hotel Villa Azur just by good luck. This is a very good, small beach hotel. From the window on the second floor you can enjoy the waves and the beach. The room is spacious and clean. They are bright and a pleasure to sleep. I dare to say the room meets standards of high class hotels. Good mattresses and quiet. Although overall it stays a small middle class hotel. But the hotel was not fully occupied. Only a very few guests stayed here. WiFi in the room is working well somehow. We had to sit outside our room to use the internet. Breakfast is decent. We had a nice stay here. Not to forget: the older member of staff is very friendly.

    Excellent locally owned hotel

    rating30 Apr 2016

Very clean small hotel located on the beach. The rooms are modern and very well maintained: they can easily be compared to the ones of international 3 stars hotels. When we were there (end of october 2015), the hotel was far from being full (like all other places we visited in Southern Tunisia) and staying in a locally owned hotel was also a way for us to sustain local people.Atmosphere was very quiet (mainly over-60 German people), which matches perfectly well with Djerba.Food was fresh and prepared according to clients requests.

Stay at Villa Azur but eat somewhere else

    rating08 Oct 2011

Purposely we chose to stay in a small hotel in Djerba rather than in any of the resorts of all sorts. This quiet 16-room hotel is well located right on the beach. Between the building and the beach there is an open space for a swimming pool, a garden/terrace to enjoy drinks and even breakfast in the morning. Service is warm, friendly, pleasant and attentive. We were given the choice between a room on the ground floor and one on the first floor. We opted for the first floor to have a large balcony and an unobstructed sea view. By the way, all rooms have a sea view. The room was large enough, very clean, decorated simply, comfortable, with satellite TV channels in six different languages. The well equipped bathroom had a large window to keep looking at the sea while under the shower.Up to now one could rate Villa Azur as a very good hotel. Alas, the picture is spoiled by the food which is not at all in accordance with the above. We declined the half-board menu which had nothing Tunisian and nothing attractive as we could see in neighboring plates. We decided to dine "a la carte" and it was a bad move: limited choice, poor presentation, wishy-washy ingredients, tasteless. Breakfast in the morning was very much in the same style. In short, the location is great, the hotel is comfortable but run away from the restaurant.
