  Hotel in Västerås city center with great atmosphere, spacious rooms and great breakfast

  We traveled with 3 teens and a dog and enjoyed our stay at Best Western Plus Hotel Plaza. The hotel offers lots of comfortable areas where we could hang out around the entrance in a really relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was great with all the family wished for. Staff did an excellent job helping us with extra beds, preparations for the dog and being very kind and service minded. The rooms were clean and spacious and the hotel is placed in the center of the city and very close to both restaurants and prison island.

  Amazing Service That Saved Our Anniversary!

  My fiancée and I were visiting Västerås to celebrate our 2-year anniversary at the Steam Hotel. She had booked a special “Steam Hotel-experience package” for us but when we arrived, something had gone wrong with the booking, it was no longer in their system and they were fully booked. Total disappointment.Determined to save the day, we decided to find another hotel and that’s when we came across yours. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by a wonderful guy at the front desk with a foreign background. He didn’t know anything about what had just happened to us, but he kindly explained the room options available. We chose a deluxe room, which fit our budget. We asked which floor it was on, since we were hoping for a view and he told us that deluxe rooms only go up to the 5th floor, while the suites offer the best views. Unfortunately, the suites were above our price range so we stuck with the deluxe room.Once the booking was complete, he gave us a big smile and said he had upgraded us to a suite for the same price as the deluxe. Just because he wanted to make our first visit to Västerås a memorable one. It was such a kind gesture and honestly made our day. He had no idea what we were going through and yet gave us such generous and thoughtful service.We were incredibly touched and thanks to him, our anniversary was saved!A couple of things that could be improved:When we came back from dinner, there was a different person at the front desk, a Swedish guy who unfortunately didn’t show the same level of hospitality. We wanted to check out the gym before heading back to our room and were met with an unnecessarily cold and questioning attitude. It felt very different from the warm welcome we had earlier.The suite itself was beautiful and comfortable, but we did notice a few large stains on the sofa cushions. It didn’t bother us personally, we just flipped the cushions. But for future guests who pay full price, a spotless room would be expected.Overall, we’re very happy with our stay and will definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you again for turning a disappointing start into a truly memorable stay in Västerås.
