    Worst ALL-INCLUSIVE experience

    rating08 Jul 2023

Check-in:We arrived in the evening, received our keys, and went up to our room. The room was extremely small, and the bed was uncomfortable with springs digging into us. The shower was a struggle to operate, and the refrigerator was not working. When I went down to the reception, the second manager promised that a specialist would come in the morning to fix the refrigerator. The hotel had terrible sound insulation, as every noise from neighboring rooms could be heard. It felt like the walls were made of cardboard covered with tiles in the bathroom or simply plastered in the bedroom. Due to these issues, we had difficulty falling asleep. The next day, we had to change rooms by lunchtime. They charged us an additional $5, claiming that the staff was too busy to clean our room (even though our first room remained vacant for another 4-5 days). The refrigerator specialist never showed up. Surprisingly, the refrigerator in the second room was also faulty. Additionally, the electronic key slot often didn't respond, and we had to play around with the key to find the right position to activate the electricity.Food:Breakfast: Once a week, we had fairly tasty pancakes, but for the rest of the week, it was just eggs (boiled or fried), potatoes with eggplants, and cheap store-bought cookies.Lunch: The options included chicken, stewed vegetables, pasta, and potatoes, but the vegetable selection was limited to cucumbers, tomatoes, and grated carrots. The fruit options were even more limited, with watermelon, sour plums, and oranges. The desserts were tasteless and monotonous, resembling either soufflés or some unknown creations.Dinner: It was essentially the same as lunch, with the addition of grilled dishes (meat and fish) that were quite tasty. In reality, every day, every meal was served on the same plate with no variety. There were salads that nobody touched - seriously. I would come for dinner early, and when I left, I would see untouched salads, even though everyone else was already eating. Never had a baklava! There. wasn't. any baklava. in Turkey! There were two beverage vending machines, but one of them was completely out of order for several months, as I found out from reviews. They claimed to have hot chocolate, but there was no actual chocolate. The tea selection was practically nonexistent.Bar:The bar offered wine, gin, vodka, raki, whiskey, beer, Sprite, and Cola. Unfortunately, the bar staff had poor language skills and didn't understand the word "cocktail." Even if they did, forget about cocktails. The most they could offer was whiskey mixed with cola, as there were no other ingredients available.Pool:There were two pools - a large one and a small one that resembled a jacuzzi. Strangely, the small pool operated all night, disturbing sleep for those on the lower floors.Beach:The walk to the beach took approximately 10 minutes. The beach area was crowded, with limited space between sun loungers. The mattress pads on the loungers were old, and the paint was peeling off. Many people of Turkish appearance without bracelets occupied the Astoria Hotel beach, making it difficult to find a free sun lounger after lunch. There was a beverage vending machine at the beach bar, but pressing any button only dispensed water. However, you could make hot tea (lol).Beach towels were not provided, and taking them from the room was prohibited. The beach had pebbles, and although I found it comfortable to walk barefoot, many people opted for special footwear.Wi-Fi:There was no free internet in the hotel or at the beach. You could purchase internet access at the reception for $1 per day, per device. However, it was important to note that if you paid for internet access in the hotel, it wouldn't be available at the beach as offered in other hotels. So, if you wanted internet access at the beach, you would have to purchase another available option.Location:The hotel was located near the city center, with shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and persistent salespeople within walking distance. Conclusion:I wouldn't return to this hotel even if it were free. My time is too valuable to spend vacation days at such a low-quality hotel. It's regrettable that I didn't consider the negative reviews when making my choice, as they accurately described the hotel's issues that I encountered.

    terrible, terrible experience

    rating24 Jul 2022

Don’t know where to begin… Food was awful! barely any choices, meat was dry, clearly cheapest they can get. ‘fresh vegetables’ we dried up. Two fruit choices- watermelon and plum that weren’t ready to eat yet. The eating area was bad- tables dirty, they didn’t even have any cups, handed out little plastic ones. No drinks until 7?? and then only beer and wine, both also not nice. Dirty laundry and towels laying around in the corridors for hours on end- smelling like sweat. Reception not willing to help much, a/c stopped working and we had to wait for almost an hour (outside at reception, since they took out key. We travelled through the night and were exhausted and it was very late. We initially were supposed to stay there for seven nights, but ended up leaving to another hotel after the first night, it was NOT worth the money at all. do.not.recommend

A nice hotel with annoying staff

    rating05 Jun 2017

Stayed there in July 2016. The staff didn't speak English, and expected us to speak Russian. Well, we couldn't speak Russian, so they had to communicate with us in English (in very poor English). Food was quite normal, but it was always the same. The DJ of the hotel was nice, i guess, we only listened him while sitting on the balcony. Music was good, and it was nice to see people dancing there. One of the most annoying things was the staff. Young men who were working the reception desk, they were quite annoying. One of them bothered us almost every day. I don't know, maybe he thought that we were interested in him, but i don't think that it's okay to come to our door at 3am! He also gave "love" letters. But the beach was amazing and the water was so warm!
