The room was basic but clean, the staff were absolutely incredible, couldn't do enough for you the location was brilliant, and my 6 year son adored the manager she was a lovely women. I would definitely stay here again, the food didn't get repetitive so much flavor, we loved this holiday and didn't want it to end. Would definitely go back

    Infection

    rating12 Oct 2022

Just wanted to add to my previous review. Finally got over my infection 6 weeks later that started on my 5th day here. The Mrs still has hers but it is going. So don't forget to pack your caneston. Never had thrush before apparently the doctor says you can get it from dirty glasses or dirty swimming pool. Good luck. This place should be closed down by the department of health.

    AVOID THIS PLACE

    rating18 Sept 2018

Stayed 11 nights All Inclusive 5Th Sept to 16th 2018 . Did not eat once in the restaurant due to food being full of flies, cold and looked generally bad. Rozza the manager did not speak any English so very difficult to get anything resolved, the only way to make conversation was via google translate. very old place , dirty and needs everything upgrading. This place is advertised on Hotels.com and should be removed. Everyone who I met at this place had the same views as myself so this is not just a single disgruntled complainant. Disgusting place. Don't even consider staying here

    rating17 Jul 2018

A well situated and designed small hotel with a pleasant garden and small pool. Food edible, but repetitive and unappetising Sadly the management is appalling.Unhelpfull penny pinching and unpleasant.Staff predominantly poor badly trained and lacking competenceThis was a cheap holiday and we expected hotel to be mundane. It wasn't anywhere near as good as that

I feel like chicken tonight like chicken tonight and tonight and tomorrow night

    rating15 Jul 2018

Well just returned from 2weeks locked up in Elis beach hotel. You can guess by my tone it’s going to be a mixed review! It’s sold under the disguise of being All Inclusive, but having been on many (Ai) holidays this one is worth writing about. I travel a lot here at home and holiday abroad as you can see do a lot of reviews on trip advisor, as a thank you really because trip advisor is my bible and if you don’t check everything first when traveling then your a fool. However back to Elis Beach. I’m going to include good points as too many people harp on about bad points but the the bad points out weigh the good.Apartment We arrived late in the morning 2am and the night watchman chap seemed friendly no English but then again I have no Turkish. He pointed out the meal times on a piece of paperBreakfast 7-9.30Lunch 12-2.30Snack 4pm at the barEvening meal 7-9.30Also gave us the Wi-fi code. We just took a photo as we were tired.APARTMENT He showed us to our room it was basic, had air conditioning, he demonstrated the remote control, I have to say it worked a treat all holiday, blast at 17 to get the room cold but I recommend pop it to 24 when your asleep and it cut in and out all night. Lol here I am talking as if your going to visit here! The bed was king size we were in room 703 small so the bed was side on to the head board. Mattress a bit hard for maybe some people but thank god not too soft and we did sleep ok mostly. The shower was ok there doesn’t seem to be plugs in this hotel we spoke to others and there was no plug at the bar sink either, but we’ll come to that later.Take your own toiletries it’s not 5 star and I expected there was not going to be any like our usual 5 start resorts. But I’m not comparing this to them as we took a flyer on a last min cheapy just to see if it will be good. There was a small balcony we overlooked the pool but a big tree was growing in front. Again not a problem for us we kind of liked the privacy but the rest of the balconies the view will be full.Other people we spoke to had a fridge, we had the cabinet where one was once but talking to others a smelly fridge we weren’t going to miss. They are just a fridge not stocked ever, not even bottles of water. So far so good we got our head down for the night.WI-FI It’s ok difficult to get on at busy times. It will say password incorrect for the reason although it’s not. Again we were fairly close to the router at 703 just below our balcony in the corner of the bar by the reception door up on a high shelf. But other rooms further away and others said they couldn’t get it in their room. I could sometimes but strangely enough I could get SUNPRIME a la cart obviously the hotel behind us, theirs was unsecured so sometimes I jumped on that in the room. But then again if you go on holiday to be on your Wi-fi all day your sad anyway. But I suppose the kids of today it’s their life blood!RESTAURANT Next morning up for breakfast! Well the restaurant here at Elis is the main problem. Now I am not fussy and could eat anything really and have a cast iron stomach. Having been to many All Inclusive I know that 14 night buffet style can be a bit repetitive, so generally we get a la cart restaurants as well. But we’re not comparing apples for apples here. But I knew it was buffet were on a cheapy last min 2 weeker here. They have a coffee machine, I like coffee and have used 100s of coffee machines in my time most of which are drinkable. Nope not this one kind of like a mix between chocolate and coffee. Chocolate was another button option. I tried the chocolate it was very sweet so I went to put in some more milk all gone I was told but the chap. At Elis beach when it’s gone there is rarely an offer of oh here’s an idea I’ll fetch some more! An education in attitude I installed in them later. Also my other half did as well but she is less diplomatic that me and maybe involve shouting but the point lands home soon.So Breakfast consisted of chopped up hotdog sausages, the only source of meat. Then on to the salads, tomatoes etc, cheeses, Turkish feta. Again we’re abroad and I’m not expecting a full English.Breads nice they always have a bread basket. Cut it yourself. Now as we’re on restaurants I’ll cover lunch and evening meal. They don’t have a bar at the restaurant so everything is carried over the THE FRIDGE. Including plastic cups. So at 12 at the bar by the pool (the only bar I might add despite at the back of the restaurant garden there clearly is a building that used to be a bar at some point or would be easy and a great position to create one) is unmanned now for 2.5hrs while all the staff (and cups) are in the restaurant. Their is a soup pot and I have to say the soups were all good. So the first tray of food is generally the meat tray. Today is chicken pieces in a sauce. I think my record for chicken was 5 meals on the trott. Then kebab meat in the shape of a burger, then kebab meat in the shape of a sausage,Then kebab meat in the shape of meat balls, then kebab meat in the shape of kebab. I think you get the picture. No in short over 14 days were pretty much saw chicken and kebab meat. The salads differed not a jot. There was fruit, grapes, melons, apples and really hard plums. There was cakes and some biscuits. But the problem is it is exactly the same every day. Every day. I didn’t go hungry but my other half did this is the first All Inclusive I had to eat out not of choice. I understood it is a small family run hotel but it is like prison food, not attempt at real change. Just the one tray if you were lucky. So a few days round the corner towards the beach opposite the supermarket there is a bar and he does an English breakfast I’m ashamed to say we brought a couple. But on the corner is side beach club omg we had the chateau Brianne steak here it is heaven just do it one night I will review them separately.POOLNow upon first gaze this looks great, looks clean 1m55cm all the way across so now shallow bit, then there is behind a metal barrier guard an shin high kiddies splash pool. Sun beds all round a couple of them broke with age one on me and one on another chap created a giggle. But generally we always got two. But on our first day we met a chap who had just arrived that morning 4hrs previous I was chatting to him and he quickly has to grab a child’s bucket to be sick. Later on another English couple we spoke to their child was ill sick for 3 days and the mother as well. Could it be the pool water? After having observed I think it is poor hygiene behind the bar was the cups and glasses with just fingers and Turkish tap water. I was ok but then again I could eat a car and be ok. On the last day i watched the young bar lad spring into action as Rosa the owner came out a he started to clean the bar floor which is right next to kiddies pool. As Rosa passed him some detergent he poured it on the tiles and scrubbed it in a proper job, the got his floor squeegee and scraped it toward the pool splash vents, some went into the kiddies pool. Now I’m no pool expert but surely this is not good!CLEANING AND HYGIENE The cleaners will endeavour to enter your room regardless if you display the red do not disturb sign. Something I found really annoying because we like a lye in sometimes. And omg we missed breakfast a few times the mrs was so upset! But when they do gain entry don’t expect much. The bed sheet was changed once in the two weeks we were there, the towels as well. We did notice on the 3rd day our nail clippers went missing! Not pointing fingers but we had I pads and kindles and maybe there was money in my wallet from time to time but nothing else was ever missing, so we never mentioned it, except the one day our door was not locked after cleaning and a Russian couple complained to Rosa so I explained we had the same that morning. There is a safe you can pay for at $2 a day if you want.ATTITUDE Now I had read about this on previous trip advisors reviews. It said the staff were rude and Rosa was all smiles. Look a little deeper. I witnessed on more than one occasion her come out and rule and although I don’t speak Turkish I have eyes. The one day a new Chinese lad started he poured me a gin, Rosa noticed and got a second glass and halved it in front of me. I was gob smacked. Having lived in a bar from the age of 14 and owning my own bar in Spain for two years I think it is safe to say I am qualified to say the lads first measure was ok. She then went on to show him how to poor the gin and vodka behind concealment of the fridge door. Then she took the gin and vodka bottles into her office so when I asked for one later he took the plastic cups to the office and came out. She had poured them. This annoyed me it’s a joke, so I went and asked Rosa if there was a problem she said no and came all the way back round with the bottles to the bar. Now I’m not stupid but here was the start of her penny pinching attitude. BARWhich brings me nicely onto the operation of the bar. So it’s open 10am TIL 22pm and I do mean 10 at night which they promptly stop no question. Then you get showed a mobile phone pointed to to show you the time. The problem is here if you can get someone behind there it’s a miracle. They have a sign up saying cocktails 5euro. A joke they only have gin, vodka and raki. Again as I mentioned before if the staff are off down the restaurant 12-2.30 and 7-9.30 you might be waiting a while. Over the two weeks I’m ashamed to say me and a fair few other people got sick of waiting and poured a beer ourselves. Yes we got caught a few times it was no big deal and Rosa didn’t say much when she saw it. But generally the fridge was locked when they disappeared. The music was piped into a big amp from a laptop, sometimes the guests put their tunes on, sometimes the Turkish music was a bit too loud and we asked them to turn it down a bit or we did it ourselves, but again there is no proper organisation. There is now commercial side to Rosa no crisps for sale etc so if making money is the issue sort it out. One day we brought a bottle of martini. The one cocktail shaker they have working, it just so happens our favourite cocktail is 007 James Bond vodka martini, vodka, gin and martini. So we brought the ice from the supermarket (this bar doesn’t do ice lol) and said pour one gin one vodka and we added the martini. I brought olives as well they did have a cocktail glass. So there we go I made one. Rosa came out and you think I had committed murder. We used the lid of the shaker which is a measure. She didn’t understand this and laid into the chap. I got her to pour me a gin in the cup. I tipped it into the lid of the shaker to demonstrate it is no different. She got the message. No in general here the staff are not treated well we met a few that were good they understood special mention to ISSA he was a nice young man. Also ELTON JOHN he was isbekistan probably not spelt the same but that’s how you said it, we all had a laugh. He was a quiet lad but he was attentive. The night watchman at night I kind of took a dislike to in the end, at 10pm he would start a few of us would go to the supermarket and buy wine to have a drink after the bar closed. Again no commercial ideas here why not have wine for sale here. We tried to keep it quiet we understood people may be sleeping but to be fair once you were in the room doors shut with your aircon going you wouldn’t hear anything anyway. But no mr night watchman turned off the fan as he said it made too much noise! Lol. No he just wanted you to go to bed at 10pm.No in short did we have a bad holiday? No but this place is rough and ready. Did I get the two weeks for good value £940 including flights and transfer yes. But you add on what we spent on extras eating out and extra drink were not short of 5star 2weeks in Mexico cancun, 9 ala cart restaurants. Now there are people who are going to read this and pick holes. But in short the reason why I book All Inclusive is because we like to eat and drink all day every day when I am on holiday. I work hard for those weeks and want to be treated like a king. You may not agree but that is my holiday, I pay for it and I want it. We were made to feel like unwelcome here from start to finish. Rosa saw us leave we never spoke upon going. Good luck here I came with the intention of not comparing my previous travels. I haven’t, just reported our experience to you. Would we return here, never ever. This is our second time in turkey Bodrem last year but that was 5star.It’s a shame because location wise it’s ok 5mins to the beach but you do have to pay 6euros for two sun beds a bit of a gripe for me your not allowed to sit on a beach for free. They have a fit if you put a towel on the sand. So I will be giving it one dot. Sorry but the attitude has killed the bricks and mortar of this place.
