  Excellent Service Oriented Hotel in Sintra

  I am grateful for the opportunity to have benefited from the services of Quintal das Murtas over the past couple of years. I have always been very well served by the staff. Today, I had the pleasure of introducing the space to some friends, who were equally satisfied. I intend to be back soon. I thank you for your dedication and excellence. The Quintal das Murtas remains a reference.

  I wish that I could rate this hotel higher as it has so much potential but unfortunately it falls down due to the lack of attention, maintenance and probably investment. Check in was in a grand reception room, giving high expectations, the receptionist was very pleasant, there was excellent parking which was a real bonus for Sintra. Immediate impressions were good not only because of the reception and main building but there's a lovely pool and jacuzzi, we had booked a double room but we're given a 4 bed annex mini apartment set in beautiful gardens but this is where it went wrong the kitchen cupboards were in a poor condition with paint peeling, although it was designed for 4 there were only 2 miss matched wine glasses and no plates or bowls and very little cooking utensils and the net curtains were shabby, the shower was almost impossible to use without getting water all over the floor as you couldn't adjust the angle of the shower head and the hose was worn and leaking we had a lovely outdoor seating area with a table and 2 chairs but they were both damaged.In the gardens we're sunbeds several of which were damaged and were always soaking wet as the gardens were watered each night by a spraying system that we could hear running in the middle of the night. The breakfast was very good, in addition to the dining room a conservatory was used which was accessed by a short walk outside which if it had rained we would get wet, several chairs were wobbly and needed repairing. There was unsightly clutter in this patio area including several very large panes of glass leanings up the wall which could have been dangerous and access was tricky via a12 inch wide path which was raised as the correct access was blocked by a coffee machine in the conservatory. In the garden was an ornamental fountain which was completely full of blanket weed which could have been easily rectified. The staff were helpful and polite but everything was just a little shabby and neglected.

  Old rustic house, but unfortunately far too many issues that just get brushed aside.

  Really wouldn’t bother. Many issues with many rooms. Complaints falling on deaf ears constantly, no management on site. Not really slept since we arrived as the aircon unit is extremely noisy. 3 days been asking for it to be fixed. The room without the aircon gets extremely warm during the night. So it’s either we sweat while we sleep, or we feel comfortable and cannot sleep due to the noise.If you have a late flight like us, landed in Lisbon past 2100. The reception closes at 2100. We were lucky as had family already over to get our keys. Don’t know what would happen if you got here past this time.Reception is open 1530 to 2100. Mind you, the reception hasn’t even been manned since we got here 3 days ago.The room isn’t cleaned properly, just tidied. We know this due to the same mark on our duvet cover since we arrived.We were offered a fan in our room and also we could move rooms. One the room doesn’t have aircon, and it’s also on the 3rd floor. We have a young child. Ain’t happening.The pool is ok, needs a little work around it but is safe enough. The jacuzzi really does need a clean, the water look dirty.For how old the house is, you would certainly expect areas to be tired. But the fact that when something is broken, nothing gets done.Really disappointed with this place. Would certainly not recommend it.

  Good location but room had dampness smell

  Location is nice and from the room balcony views of the mountains and the estate were nice. However, rooms are very old and they have a strong dampness smell. Mattress is very poor or cheap quality. They do not offer free water at the property. The paid water bottles are far and few in the fridge. No ice available for guests. This property charges a lot of money but does not spend much money to upkeep or maintain the property. Poorly staffed. Breakfast in the morning was very good though when actually you see 2 staff members working from 830 to 10 am. I will not stay here again.
