Intimate little hotel, with excellent service and friendly staff

    rating15 May 2014

If, like me, you don't like big hotels with noisy pool areas and having to fight for your sun lounger, then this is definitely the place. The atmosphere is calm and the staff are friendly and treat you like family. Being a typical Scandinavian looking woman, it's tiresome with the constant heckling and banter from sellers and like, when you're out and about. When being at the hotel, it's like a little piece of heaven. Staff respect your privacy and don't flirt with the guests in order to gain extra tips. It's a very relaxed atmosphere.Saying that, it doesn't mean that the service level is relaxed, they will accommodate any reasonable need. The food is incredible, genuine Turkish cuisine and lots of delicious fresh fruit and veg.If you scrutiny the hotel and look at it with critical eyes, then yes, you can find spots where the paint may be chipping and it's not the most modern in the world, but it caters to your basic needs as a guest and the treatment you receive as a guest here, outweighs any of that.Would go back again next week if I was able to.

    NOT THE BEST!!!

    rating18 Jul 2013

When we left the hotel at the reception showed us an account and asked him to pay something that we did not TAKE WITH THEM IN BAR!In that account was not kept our signature, but we still had to pay for it!When we arrived at the hotel they said that we can not immediate, and to pay when I go home, stim each account signature!THIS IS OUR WAITER AND PUT claiming that we've taken that away, but it was OUR SIGNATURES.However we must pay!!!We were the only ones that do this. They do that all the guests. witnessed for myself and video! It's a shame what they do, namely give themselves in tips!!!!11 ALL DAY BREAKFAST was the same, nothing pushed the New, or add.DINNER WAS DIFFERENT, BUT A FEW DAYS AND SHE repeated. For dessert alternated ALL 11 DAYS MELONS, there were no desserts, or of candy! The beach is SAFE KM 1, maybe more.Path to the beach is terrible.FROM THE CENTER IS SAFE some 2-3 km far.Not suitable for families with small children, or the elderly!I say this from experience, because I was with two small children!None of that swing or something for children as shown in the hotel pictures.

Simple rooms and friendly staff - for short stays

    rating13 Nov 2011

We have spent one night at this hotel during low season early November 2011 (http://www.sidehotelsahara.com). The room we had was simple but very clean and with a small balcony with view to the sea. Friendly and German speaking staff. I'm not sure about their English knowledge. We didn't experienced either the pool nor the bar / little restaurant. We had dinner outside and had no breakfast as we left very early in the morning. Recommendable for short stays.

    not the best

    rating04 Sept 2008

When I first arrived I was greeted by a man smoking in my face in reception. It was 2am and we were given room keys and a safe key. When booking out we were charged without warning 14 Euros for the safe key. When I complained the manager said he would call the police and get me and my girlfriend sent to prison if we did not pay( can you believe this) He was incredibly rude and although he could speak both German and English he refused to speak either instead mumbled in Turkish to one of his employees. Despite this the breakfast was the same every day and came without any water or orange juice. The evening meal was very limited in choice, the salad was acceptable but the main courses were mostly inedible and also without any drink water or otherwise. There was loud techno music being constantly played so you could not sit by the pool or restaurant area and relax, there was no non smoking area and the staff all smoked in front of you. The room had a fridge which had been disconnected and was presumably something to do with the huge sign at reception telling people they could not bring any drinks into the hotel(including water) which you could buy from the restaurant for 4 turkish lira ( cost 0.75 in the shop next door) The beach service was not at all run by the hotel but by private shacks on the beach. If you ever have the misfortune to book here please do not take any of the day trips offered. One such trip was a shopping trip to Antalya in which you were dropped off at shops the organisers got commission from. The turkish baths were like a cattle market and about as relaxing as an enima. Some of the staff were friendly however but it barely made up for the poor management and the countless other annoyances we endured.
