    Maxx Royal Belek

    rating31 May 2026

We just got back from Maxx Royal and overall really enjoyed it—but honestly, some things are in need of improvement.Even though it was packed due to a major Turkish holiday, credit where it’s due: there was still enough space at the pools and restaurants. What was great:Service is genuinely excellent across the hotel (big shoutout to the lady at the Adults-only pool—you were amazing!)CIP service for all guests really elevates the experienceRooms are huge, bathroom is greatUnlimited free à la carte restaurants—this was a highlight (Szafraan and Kalamatas were fantastic)Smart setup with restaurants around the main stage—you can dine without missing showsChocolatier is incredible (best Dubai chocolate we’ve had)No issues finding sunbeds, even when full24/7 restaurant actually has a strong menu (rare!)Great beach bar with evening showsVery comfy bedUseful private lounge after checkoutTwo personal assistants to help with anythingWhat really needs improvement (and honestly left a bad impression):The hotel is seriously outdated—peeling paint, tired design… it’s very visible and not what you expect at this price levelNo AC in large parts of the hotel, and it was hot—super uncomfortableRoom design feels confused (family hotel… but a huge mirror above the bed? just odd and a bit off)Layout of the room isn’t practical—tiny closet, lots of wasted spaceHousekeeping was inconsistentAdults-only pool is 2m deep everywhere—basically unusable for many peopleThe private lounge is a good idea, but poorly executed: not enough lockers, had to leave bags at the SPA on another floorAlso no AC in parts of the lounge—I was honestly sweating trying to pack and change....Overall: amazing service and some great touches, but the hotel really needs a renovation and better design decisions. It’s good, but it could (and should) be much better for what they charge.

    Maxx happiness

    rating30 May 2026

We love this hotel. It was our 3rd time at the Maxx staying in the Laguna Terrace suites. It’s such a perfect hotel for families. So much for the kids to do & the evening show set up in the middle of the restaurants is the best, you can still enjoy your dinner without fighting to get a shoe seat. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The water park is fantastic & the little lunch spot in there is one of my favourite places to be. And when you’re sad & leaving you get a whole VIP experience of Antalya airport so no queues just escorted through each section seamlessly. Don’t hesitate to book it!

Excellent facilities and poolside service, but food and some service issues let it down

    rating28 May 2026

In short, the Maxx Royal Belek is a very high-quality resort with beautifully maintained grounds, brilliant kids’ facilities, excellent pools and superb poolside service. The kids’ club, tree climbing, aqua park and poolside setup were real highlights of our stay. However, for the price, the included food and wine offering was not strong enough, and a few service issues around check-in, check-out and the snack bar were frustrating. We had a good holiday overall, but not one that would make us return. That said, a lot of this comes down to personal preference. If you want excellent inclusive food and a much stronger included wine offering without paying supplements, I would choose Ikos instead. We stayed in the Terrace building in a family suite with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which worked really well with two children. The room was cleaned well every day and the minibar was restocked regularly. The Terrace building is especially convenient for the kids’ club and water park. However, if you want to be closer to the main restaurants and pools, I would recommend staying in the main building. The pools are large, with plenty of sunbeds. There was no early morning rush for beds, even when the hotel was busy, which made the whole experience feel relaxed. Each pair of sunbeds has a cool box pre-filled with chilled water, which is a great touch. In late May, most of the pools were a little chilly, although the outdoor seawater pool was heated and very comfortable.Poolside drinks and snacks service was excellent. A special mention goes to Evren, who worked incredibly hard and looked after us brilliantly all week. You can order using QR codes or ask a nearby waiter, and drinks usually arrived within around five minutes. There are also lots of toilets near the pools, plus useful touches like an air pump for inflatables and lockers with phone-charging points. The drinks offering, excluding wine, is very strong. There is a good range of cocktails, premium spirits and beers, including Guinness, which was impressive. The wine offering, however, was disappointing. The included wines are limited and only okay. The supplement wines are extremely expensive — bottles that would cost around £10 at home were listed at around £100, which felt ridiculous. There is also no included wine in the room minibar, only beer. If you ask for wine in the room, the only included option offered is a rosé, which we did not enjoy. This was a real shame. The included food was a mixed bag and, unfortunately, a lot of it felt average. The bread was good, but the pastries were not good at all, which was surprising for a hotel at this level. I also found the lack of physical menus irritating. All restaurants use QR code menus, and while I understand the desire to reduce paper and cost, I personally do not like having phones out at dinner. There were some strong food areas. The buffet breakfast was very good, the prawns on the menus we tried were excellent, the pan-fried fish was cooked well, and the seafood pasta was enjoyable. The chocolatier and macaron shop were both amazing, and our children absolutely loved them. These were real highlights and added a lot to the experience. The Asian restaurant and steakhouse were also very good, but both came at a supplement. At this price point, I question why those restaurants should be extra. Either reduce the overall all-inclusive price, or include the stronger dining options within it. Don't charge more overall and command supplements. The weaker food areas were mainly some of the steamed fish and meat dishes, which often underwhelmed. For example, I had a duck orzo that came with cherries but very little else in terms of flavour or seasoning. Some of the steamed fish dishes were also quite bland. The 24-hour restaurant is a real positive and is very useful for round-the-clock à la carte dining.Check-in and check-out were disappointing. We had booked a room with a balcony and had deliberately avoided a Laguna room with direct pool access, as we did not feel that setup was suitable or safe for children aged four and six. After a long flight, we were shown to a ground-floor pool-access room. We then had to change rooms at around 8pm, which meant the requested bed bars had not been fitted. This was poor. It was suggested that the pool-access room was an upgrade, but it did not feel like one for our family. I'd even had a courtesy call the day before about our needs, and this messy check in just annoyed us.Check-out was also frustrating. I asked for our bags to be collected around 30 minutes before our taxi arrived. I had to ask four times, and our taxi eventually left 15 minutes late. In the end, I went back to the room myself, and only then were the bags being collected. This was especially disappointing as I had already told our assistant the day before what time we were leaving.Another frustrating area was the poolside snack bar serving sandwich rolls and fries. I used it three times and had issues every time. On one visit, I asked for a bread roll with three fillings and was instead given a plate with the fillings and a large dollop of mayonnaise on the side — but no bread. Given that the outlet mainly serves rolls and fries, this was baffling.Other visits to the sanck bar involved slow service, people being served ahead of us despite arriving later, and staff who seemed disorganised. I raised it with a manager, but I am not sure any action was taken. The entertainment was very good, although it seemed more geared towards Russian and Turkish guests. That was understandable, as most guests appeared to be Russian or Turkish during our stay. The setup for watching the shows from the dinner table was excellent.Overall, this was an expensive holiday with many great elements, but also enough frustrations that we sadly would not return.

    Our stay at Maxx Royal

    rating28 May 2026

We stayed for one week at Maxx Royal Belek Golf Resort and overall had a very enjoyable holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome. We would especially like to highlight our assistant, Esra Ersil, who was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. She was always attentive, highly motivated, and handled all of our requests immediately. We truly felt well looked after and appreciated as guests. Her positive attitude and dedication to guest satisfaction made a real difference and contributed greatly to our overall experience. A big thank you to her for making our stay even more enjoyable. The general service throughout the hotel was also very good. The staff were consistently polite, attentive, and hardworking. Cleanliness across the entire resort was excellent as well.Unfortunately, the food did not fully meet our expectations. For a hotel of this category, we expected a higher culinary standard and have experienced better quality in other hotels. The furniture in the rooms also feels a bit outdated by now, especially the balcony furniture, which was disappointing for a luxury resort of this level.Despite these points, we still had a lovely week and felt very comfortable throughout our stay
