  Cheap and basic

  Naz Gardens offers pretty basic facilities at low prices if you want "No Frills" accommodation. We requested a low level room due to mobility problems but instead we were put on the 3rd floor with no lift. Transfers from the airport was meant to be approx 1hr40mins but we arrived 2hrs later. We were greeted by a non-english speaking chap who tried his best to book us in. It's very hard to communicate with the staff unless you are German. Our room was cleaned everyday with towel art on the double bed. We asked if we could change our room due to the flights of stairs.New room was ground floor but with no balcony. Again we changed rooms with no problems. Breakfast was typically Turkish with the usual breads, meats,cheese,jams, hard boiled eggs,olives,salad and cereal. The evening meals again were Turkish but if you're a fussy eater like me then you wouldn't eat much at all but there was plenty on offer. No evening entertainment and hardly any music at the pool area. The pool was too deep to stand in and at times very cold. A free beach shuttle bus to the Side Beach Club everyday which was great as it's quite a distance to walk. The sea was extremely warm and inviting but beware of the fish as they bite! Plenty of restaurants around but we often ate at The Red Lion (English pub) which has the best steak ever! The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. A short walk takes you to the High Street which has many shops, bars and restaurants, a favourite of our's is The Golden Fizz Bar. Addy is such a lovely man and with whom we became firm friends with. Antique Turkey is a must! grab a taxi costs 15TL (£3GBP) Many shops, bars, night-life and a walk amongst the ancient ruins is fascinating. Trips and excursions are pretty cheap to book. The mosque is situated close to the apartments which announces their prayers through very loud speakers so sometimes it would wake us in the early morning. Side is beautiful and we plan to return next year but not at the same accommodation.

  Clean and comfortable

  Comfortable room, with double &single bed, small flat screen TV, nice compact bathroom with wet room/shower cubicle. Nice balcony, not great view but relaxing, except for close proximity to the mosque, soon managed to sleep through it.Free Wifi bar area. Main Pool too deep for me but good for swimmers. Staff friendly and helpful, not all fluent in English. Was half board, I enjoyed the Turkish food but may not suit all.

  Excellent little hotel well located in Side. Not a flash all-inclusive, then we only paid £10/night for Half Board. Rooms adequate if a bit small. Cleaned daily, towels changed.Lovely swimming pool we had almost to ourselves. Few children, mostly couples. 1km to old town, hotel beaches. Free bus to East Beach (drinks ok, but food poor value). Free wifi in bar Food was Turkish. Mostly peppers, aubergines etc. Lots of cold starters. Soup and cake or fruit. Breakfasts limited. Coffee was good.Drinks good price - charged to room. Staff were friendly, attentive but didn't push.Will go there again at that price.

  Beware!!!

  The only good thing about the hotel was that the room was clean.As for the rest then it definitely was not up to standard.We came back to our room on the second Wednesday of our stay to find one of the curtains on top of a cabinet and the curtain track hanging at a 30 degree angle.The track was only fixed after I complained on the Saturday night. When we left the following Friday, the curtain had still not been re-hung.The food was another matter. Breakfast 8-10, Dinner 17.30-19.30At breakfast the food was put out just before 8 - cheese, meat, eggs, bread, etcThe food was not covered or refrigerated and you had to chase the flies from it.Any food left at 10am was removed after having been out in the heat for 2 hours.I suspect that the leftovers were either served at the evening meal or breakfast the following morning.For the evening meal the food was put out just before 19.30 and stayed out until 21.30. There was no covering on the salad and cold vegetable dishes and again it was chasing flies away.The so-called hot food was only hot for the first few minutes - after that it was barely warm. Most of the vegetables were an overcooked soggy mess (possibly heated from the previous night). Any meat served required a guess as to what it was and there was whole fish (complete with bones) served once a week. If you wanted soup it was a lottery since there were not enough bowls for everyone and once they had all been used, that was it! - The staff were too idle to wash them and put them out again.When it came to drinks that was another matter!. Depending who served you also meant differences to what you were charged. Beers were supposed to be 9tl.I gave the manager 40tl for 4 beers - 10 days later and I was still waiting for my change.We were warned not to have a account as the hotel charged for the same drink more than once and we saw several examples of this happening - they even had the cheek to try to charge us for some of the "free" drinks which came with the breakfasts

  Good value for money

  On arrival at the Naz Gardens we were had a friendly welcome the man on reception also carried or cases up the stairs the room was basic but beds were clean and comfy good points the rooms were cleaned every day the hotel was quiet the pool was clean and relaxing the family that run the hotel are really friendly the food was good freshly made every morning and every night there is also a free bus service to the beach every day but we walked it as it was only ten mins away why go 5 star when you can go the Naz Gardens because the family are 5 star people only got back on Monday and have booked up to go back in august all best to all the family and staff from David,Teresa and Rhys from scotland
