    Hotel "After War"

    rating18 May 2017

Probably this hotel is most horrible where I ever stayed. Everything has started at the day of arrival. I have booked single room with big king size bed. When I entered to the room to my surprise it was 3 beds!!! The room was tiny with view to the cemetery view. After requesting to change room to have what I paid for the Front Office manager asked: “Why do u need a big king size bed? You are alone”. That phrase ruined everything. I paid for King size and I shouldn’t explain why I need to have exactly what I paid for. No any apologize, no any compensation or offering to change room when the occupancy in hotel gets low.Overall hotel is very old and seems like several years it was without tourists. Probably 5-10 years ago it was very popular and famous, but now ruined and looks like after war.The “+” of hotel- Good location near seaside and beautiful mountain view;- Hamam and sauna;- Nice and delicious fish at dinner;- Nice open air swimming pool; The “-“ of hotel- Very slow WIFi only in Lobby Zone. If it rains, all people are stucked in the lobby and connection gets more slow. There is another internet for extra payment near Bar Zone 2$/ day. But you need to sit outside under rain if you want to use it;- Rude and Incompetent Reception. When u ask them about anything (like where is any side seeing attraction and etc.) they answer: “I don’t know. Why you don’t check in internet?” and continues starring at their gadgets. Reception stuff is not customer oriented.- Poor and tiny design of interior – everything looks like after war.- Beach is very small and u need to pass through stones to reach sea and swim.

Untasty food, good location, bad service, nice nature, sea and mountains, wi-fi does not working properly, funny animation team, dirty dishes and rooms, old furniture, great hookah (costs money). Not recommended.

Stayed at Carelta Beach with friends. The hotel itself was OK, but looked a bit out dated as it was first opened in 1998. The room was clean and spacious with its own balcony. Air conditioning in the room broke down once at +35 Celsius. But the hotel stuff was quite helpful to fix it in an hour. All in all service was good and friendly. The food was tasty, especially meat dishes and salads. The drinks were disappointing actually. Juice and beer were diluted with water, wich is, of course, not a 4-star hotel approach. The private beach is relatively small. Getting into the sea may be a problem for some because of the rocky bottom. The current is quite strong and you have to pay attention to this all the time to make sure that you are far enough from water bikes and motorboats. They float around all the time and may be dangerous for some reason. As for the guests British, Germans and French are a minority here. Turks, Russian and Ukrainian are prevailing. Be ready for quite noisy nights because of the animation and discos. Those who get pool-side rooms may be upset with the nightlife activities. Our room was overlooking the road, but we still could hear the action from the beach area far beyond 1:00 a.m.Nevertheless, no negative impressions here. Carelta Beach is a good value for money. $1,500 for two weeks all inclusive package is a viable option in terms of price and quality. But, of course, there are more interesting hotels. And not in Turkey.
