    Good Location, But Disappointing Room and Breakfast

    Hotel Golden Pen’s location is good, set on a lively street full of bars, cafes, and eateries, with just a 10-minute walk to the marina. However, the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. Our room was tiny and a bit outdated, with a view directly onto the back of the hotel and close chimneys. This meant that whenever we opened the window, the smell from nearby food spots drifted in, which wasn’t pleasant. The breakfast was disappointing; served on a fixed plate with no choices, and some items didn’t seem fresh. We ended up opting for breakfast elsewhere. Good location, but room and dining quality could use improvement.

    Fabulous location, great staff, helpful staff, clean room... nice hotel. What more can I say. I stayed, I left.... I returned three times. What more shall I say. I loved the place. Staff were fab, room, location. Oh yeah.... breakfast? Jolly nice too '

    The worst hotel ever. i have been in instanbul many times and always had a great stay. But the staff was so rud, the rooms were not clean. The breakfast was so bad and everytime we ask the stuff about something they would say No.

    Impolite staff. The room was so small and unclean. There were no place between beds to walk even. In the last day we did not have enough time time to reach airport and The receptionist did not help us to find a taxi to airport and also throw us away from hotel. It was horrible experience. I should mention that the picture of hotel is not real and its not even similar to the reality.

    Unfriendly staff! We had a very bad experience with the reception the moment we arrived to the hotel. A friend of mine booked a room for one person through Bookings and paid for the whole stay. We were welcomed with angry faces for no reason. The staff didn't even say hi. They just stared at us wondering how many persons are going to stay. I explained to them it's just for one person because I already live in an apartment in Istanbul. The moment I went up to the room to help my friend with the luggage, they got angry at us and started raising their voices. It was unprofessional and disrespectful. It felt like we did some taboo to go upstairs. The receptionist kept screaming and didn't want to call down until another staff member interfered. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. There are many other options in Istanbul and in Besiktas. I will take this issue further to the management. I have never been treated this way.
