Lots of Pluses but still some negatives

You really can not beat this Hotel for location and convenience. 10 minute walk to all the Belfast City attractions i.e. City Hall, Grand Opera House, Bus and Train terminal and the shopping areas Victoria Square. Regarding the room I booked - classed as: Deluxe Double. I found nothing to indicate Deluxe about it sadly e.g. Bathrobes, Toiletries, make up mirror in bathroom for ladies , glasses provided for the complimentary water had to use the glasses in bathroom! No mini bar - Hostess tray very lacking and choice of biscuits low grade - would have been an opportunity to "show off " a Irish traditional Faye. But the main disappointment was the heating in the room - bare in mind we were there 2 nights with temperatures low and rain in March . We used the instructions for the heating to no avail. Called reception and talked through what we had already done with the receptionist saying" it will work soon". Waited - no heating. On our return from our evening out 10.30ish the heating was on ....thankfully. The following early evening and night we had no heating again so slept in our jumpers and socks as so cold. Called twice to reception and informed them again of this issue and were once again told it will work soon......it didn't. So remember this is a deluxe room!!No complaints about Housekeeping they are clearly on their game! - clean - spotless rooms. Walk in shower with great pressure -essential for the damp Belfast weather!Breakfast: Staff not very attentive had the feeling of a staff canteen and cutlery an issue to provide a teaspoon! Coffee came from a machine that ultimately failed to impress. Reception staff brisk but efficient. This is not a "destination " Hotel - its clean, safe and a base to drop your bags while you enjoy what Belfast has to offer .... which is a lot and we enjoyed exploring this interesting city.
