    Clean and Functional

    rating15 Apr 2026

Wow-it doesn't happen very often when posting on Trip Advisor, that my review follows a review by a serial contributor, whose thoughts are so different to mine, but here goes:I was at Pastures this week on business, it wasn't a Saturday nightFirstly the hotel-no frills, but clean, the bed was not the worst, and most of the staff were helpful, especially Alex (F) in Pastures Lodge Restaurant, who who had a nice manner and a nice smileAs far as my experience of Pastures Lodge was: It was nicely busy, and the Muzak grew on me. Comprehensive menu and good wine list, at non-rip off prices.Grab a table and order your food at the bar. Lamb Kofta starter bang on, loved the pomegranate, and my 8oz Rump was well cooked.

    Disappointed with food

    rating26 Mar 2026

Booked Saturday night dinner b&b only to be told on arrival that the restaurant was closed for private function. We were sent to the Pastures pub across the road - the tackiest most dingy pub with the most atrocious food. This place makes Wetherspoon seem like The Ritz. To add insult to injury we were told there would an hour wait- in the end we waited 80 minutes for cold miserable food. At least when we complained at the hotel the dinner charge and drinks cost were taken off bill. Worse was to come with the disorganised breakfast where they couldn’t seem to cope with the (not unreasonable) numbers of guests. We waited 10 minutes for new plates at the buffet and by then (this was only 9:15am) food had run out. Previously we’ve stayed at the lovely Best Western at Preston and this certainly puts this place in the shade.

    Wedding Party!

    rating08 Feb 2026

We had a fabulous night @ The Best Western Plus - Pastures Hotel celebrating our evening wedding party.Nothing was too much trouble - from preparing the room to organising welcome drinks, selecting food for the buffet, even offering a complimentary 'dressing room' for family after their journey. We'd invited about 100 people and the room was comfortable with tables, some relaxed seating and a DJ/dance-floor.There was plenty of hot & cold food plus the drinks 'specials' were very well received. The whole night went without a hitch.Particular praise to Vicky for arranging everything down to the fine detail and Finlay for getting the ball rolling after we'd been let down by another venue.Sharon & Michelle on reception were brilliant plus Stuart and his team worked so hard on the night looking after the food & bar service.About 16 of us stayed over & the rooms plus breakfast were excellent value.I would recommend this venue for a Party/Food/Disco in a heartbeat!! General Manager, Owner at Best Western Plus Pastures Hotel, responded to this review Dear Basilbalti, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful and detailed review. We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your evening wedding party at Pastures Lodge was such a success and that everything ran smoothly from start to finish. It’s fantastic to know that the room setup, welcome drinks, buffet selection, and drinks specials all met your expectations and helped create a memorable celebration for you and your guests. We’re especially pleased that the space worked so well for dining, relaxed seating, and dancing. Your kind words about our team mean a great deal to us. Vicky and Finlay will be thrilled to know their efforts made such a positive difference, and we’ll also be sure to pass on your praise to Sharon, Michelle, Stuart, and the wider food and bar team. They truly take pride in going the extra mile, particularly in situations where plans need to come together quickly. We’re also glad you and your guests enjoyed the overnight stay and breakfast, and that you found it excellent value. Thank you again for your heartfelt recommendation. It was a pleasure to host your celebration, and we wish you all the very best for the future. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Warm regards, The Pastures Lodge/Hotel Team

    Trades people beware

    rating27 Nov 2025

On my first night at the hotel my works van had all its locks forced and tools removed. Response from reception was anticipated, not bothered about CCTV without police involvement, so I checked out and found somewhere else before more damage to my van. General Manager, Owner at Best Western Plus Pastures Hotel, responded to this review We are extremely sorry to hear about your experience during your stay and the issues you faced with the security of your work van. This is absolutely not the standard we strive for, and we completely understand your frustration in feeling the need to write this review. Please be assured that this is an isolated incident, and we take matters like this very seriously. We would be grateful if you could contact the hotel directly with more details at info@pastureshotel.co.uk, so we can look into this further and personally provide you with any information or assistance you may need. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
