  Check in was easy, room it’s self was ok, was very warm tho and no fan available from reception, had to buy one from B&M which is near enough next door. The duvet was too hot, and there was no under flat sheet, there fore couldn’t even sleep with just the sheet on. Could hear a lot of banging in the night also, previous comment mentioned this is from the water pipes? Bathroom had a shower, toilet and sink, flusher on the toilet (room 21) was very difficult to flush, radiator/towel rail was ages and rusting, tiles needed redone, and so did the silicone seal, but shower had good pressure. There is Ekemis soap on the bathroom to use for hands and body also.There was a hairdryer and plenty space to put your clothes away so you aren’t living out a case, no iron tho. There is plenty sockets in the room but none at bedsides. One is close to the bedside, if you have a long charger you would be ok.Spa was nice, basic pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi m. Free to use if you book direct with Bannatyne. Overall the room was ok, if it hadn’t of been so warm then I might have got a sleep

  The reception staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly and I would stay again just because of them. The room was big, nice outlook of a wood and the bed was perfect - large and comfortable. Unfortunately there was no shower gel in the dispenser and the toilet flushed sporadically. The lights were blinding and the room was rather grubby but you get what you pay for. Good location, quiet, excellent staff.   Clean modern rooms with friendly staff. Great Value for money really good location for access to Durham.

  Stayed here to explore Durham just for 1 night. Safe carpark , Friendly staff, Clean rooms. Quiet good atmosphere value for money. Modern rooms, great locations for access to Durham attractions rooms have all the amenities we needed for our stay before we moved onto Teesside to explore other areas. We did not get to use the health club and spa we just did not have the time but as we booked direct with them that was included in out stay.   Great hotel just outside of durham with pool gym and cafe plus bar to enjot on your stay with free parking and a retail park 5 mins away our room was 2nd floor via lift twin room with very compfy beds clean sheets white towels desk chair clothes rail tv coffe facilites large tv bathroom with powerful shower very hot water to clean your bits overall very good room apart from it was very warm and the noise from other guests is rediclous at 1am coming in drunk apart from that good location to visit durham and beyound Susan Ellison, General Manager at Bannatyne Hotel Durham, responded to this review Hi Josh,Thank you for taking the time to review us after your recent visit.
