    We stayed at The Argyll on Tuesday night as we were visiting Glasgow University on Wednesday. We had a room for 3 which was spacious enough for us for one night and would have been fine for a few nights.I can't praise the staff and hotel highly enough. We saw 3 different people on reception and all were really friendly. We had breakfast in the morning and there was so much choice! From cereals to a hot breakfast, fresh made yogurt pots to pancakes everything was delicious and hot. The staff in the lovely breakfast room couldn't have been friendlier and were on hand to make lovely hot drinks and clear tables.The location of the hotel was perfect for us. Directly opposite Kelvingrove Park it's around a 10-15 walk through the park to the university. The area around the hotel (Finnieston) is great for eateries and pubs.If you're looking for ice cream or waffles look for Fat Sals about a 5 minute walk away - it's delicious. My one tiny and maybe a personal issue was that the 2 pillows were very firm. We were only there one night so I don't know if they could have been swapped or not. Next time I'll just bring my own.The Argyll is amazing value for money and I highly recommend adding the breakfast on.We'll definitely be back in Glasgow and wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

    Dishonest Argyll Hotel Management

    I booked directly on their Argyll Hotel website for a 3 day stay from 8-11 April 2026. However, due to illness I had to cancel the day before. Under the booking terms there was a penalty for late cancellation or no show equivalent to the charge for the first day. Under their booking terms I was entitled to a refund for 2 of the 3 days I had booked and pre-paid. However, my enquiry with the hotel for my refund wasn’t replied to. I visited the hotel in person to lodge a complaint with the reception and request my refund due of £271. The receptionist listened to my complaint but explained that despite the booking conditions, it was the manager’s practice not to refund cancelled bookings. She asked I write to the hotel with evidence of their own booking terms & my payment for the manager to reconsider. I did this but to date have received no reply nor refund. I have never experienced such dishonesty from a hotel before and strongly recommend travellers avoid it until they start honouring refunds in line with their booking policy, or they update their booking policy to be consistent with their practice of all bookings being non refundable.

    Was amazing. Friendly helpful very competent staff in reception. Clean rooms, quiet ebough. My only small critique is bath/shower quite comoact. Tea coffee etc well stocked, beds that did the job. Iron and ironing board on request.Breakfast was over and beyond fantastic... Friendly, helpful staff members, food was outstanding, really wish had longer to enjoy it had to eat very quickly due to needing to be somewhere quickly. Close enough to city and. Ovo hydro, would absolutely stay here again just for the fabulous people who worked there!!

    I had a great stay at this hotel. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, which made a really good first impression. The room was spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable—I fell asleep almost instantly.Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide selection including cooked options, traditional Scottish items, and continental choices. Everything was well presented and fresh. The breakfast staff were outstanding—attentive, friendly, and clearly focused on making sure guests were well looked after.Overall, a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely stay here again.

    Great location for everything that’s brilliant about Glasgow.The staff were really helpful and breakfast so good - but the nightly rate was the best! Cheaper than Travelodge or Premier Inn and so much more personal.
