    Not worth the cost

This hotel is great location wise, in the heart of the West end and 5 mins from the underground station, as for the price it's charging for the standard of accommodation it's well overpriced . The room we had for the weekend (room 144) i would definitely recommend avoiding , the noise we experienced at 1am, 2am, 3am, was horrendous, absolutely no sound proofing from the nightclub outside. The room had no heating and was freezing at night, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. The service levels we experienced in the Bovine restaurant were not great either, the only positive i can say about this hotel was the breakfast was excellent. To sum up what i thought would be a relaxing weekend to recuperate from the stresses of a busy world were sadly non existent.

    Awful

I am currently sitting in my room and all I can hear is the base of the DJ and screaming and yelling from the prom that the hotel is hosting mid week. I am on an international work trip with sleep being a priority and this is simply not possible! I have contacted reception and the staff member could not have been any less interested in helping nor cared any less. I have never left a bad review at any location I have stayed but I felt so compelled in relation to this situation. There was no notice in relation to the event, no attempt to ensure room allocation that meant I was not impacted and no care from the staff.

    Average - higher expectations

I had always wanted to stay here - we finally booked (having had the last booking here cancelled ) and we were a tad disappointed.Deluxe double was an average room, but the little things that are available in most hotels now were missing - for example usb charging points - I have to try and pack light to allow for space for my wife’s stuff! No fridge in the room Room was clean but tired and looked very old fashioned. I assume no refurb since moved from the Hilton franchise.430am light was streaming in around the curtains.Breakfast was mediocre. Not sure it’s quite meeting 4 star anymore. Shame as beautiful building and great location in the west end near botanic gardens and subways. Maybe if it’s due a refurb soon it would be restored to its former glory

    Location, location, location

Location, location, location. That’s what we often mention when it comes to hotel.Glasgow isn't that big and it's possible to get around on foot without sacrificing too much shoe leather. That's what I learned from Lonely Planet Scotland when I planned my accommodation for the conference in this city.Put simply, Glasgow is the kind of place where we don't have to be picky for hotels very close to the conference venue. Although I have not much sightseeing time, I decided to find one at Glasgow's West End, just a quick subway from downtown. As in so many British cities, the western part – upwind of industrial pollution – was historically the most desirable. The key drawcard for the location of my hotel is its green spaces. The much-loved Botanic Gardens with series of stunning Victorian glasshouses are within walking distance. And so is Kelvingrove Park, right next to top-notch Kelvingrove Arty Gallery and Museum. These iconic sites close before five, but the Waterstones bookshop and public library on my doorstep won't close until eight in the evening. What could be better location than that? Mike B, Owner at Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel, responded to this review Dear ckmThank you so much for the lovely 5 star review in relation to your stay here at the hotel. We are truly blessed when it comes to locality and very fortunate to be located in the leafy outskirts of Glasgow however still very conveniently located near to all the tourist hotspots and places of interest. We sincerely hope you enjoyed your stay in Glasgow and keep us in mind for your next visit.Kindest RegardsMike

Dated hotel with poor communication, avoid.

    rating04 Jun 2026

Do not stay here if you expect a 4 star hotel. Before checking in we told the hotel we had our 8 month baby with us and asked for a cot to be provided in the room. They responded and agreed. Upon arrival we were told that there was no cot in the room as housekeeping had left and that someone would need to bring it up now that we have checked in. The initial room we were given was ok so we unpacked but TV did not work. Informed reception and asked them to fix. We left the hotel for a few hours and came back and no cot had been made up by 7:30pm and tv was still not working. We were then told by the same receptionist (Mohammed) that we were to move to a different room. I then had to carry my baby to that room to find that cleaning was not acceptable and there was hair in the shower. I had to then ask to move to another room. At this point it was around 7:30pm and no regard was given to us about the fact that we had a small baby with no cot who needed to go to bed. We were then moved to another room which was OK. TV worked but cupboard was broken, stain on the carpet and curtain broken. Bathroom was dated with limescale and stains on the toilet seat from wear and tear. I then had to move all my belongings alone with my baby in tow with no offer of assistance from the hotel. I asked to speak to the duty manager and when she arrived she was helpful and apologetic but said she couldn’t do anything as she was not the hotel manager and that she would make note of my concerns and pass them on tomorrow. It was past 8pm when the cot arrived and I was given some complimentary sparkling water for the inconvenience. The next day I spoke to the manger (James) who assured me I would have a refund for the night before and agreed that the hotel was not up to par when it came to design and quality despite having the staff. I was grateful for the gesture. We then continued with our 3 night stay costing nearly £600. Upon checking out, I asked the receptionist to confirm if the refund had been processed. She had no idea this had happened, took my details and said someone would get back to me. Over a week has now passed and no communication from the hotel despite me calling twice and leaving my name and number. Luckily booked through booking.com so have disputed the booking with them. Avoid this hotel if you expect luxury in their rooms. The rooms need a revamp and the staff need training on quality customer service. Also, rooms on the side of the road are noisy and the terrace restaurant is loud so avoid if you actually want to sleep before 10pm. Mike B, Owner at Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel, responded to this review Dear 944DThank you for taking the time to complete the survey, it is truly appreciated. Any feedback or comments you may have would help us continue to improve our service and product would be appreciated. We would apply a refund however we will ensure that we remedy any issue to ensure we make it right for the guest. It was unfortunate that we did not have the COT on your booking as a request however happy that we were able to rectify this for you.We hope to welcome you back in the very near future at the Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel . Regards
